《Mine (LenxMiku/Lenku/MikuxLen)》13

I look up at the figure. It looked... familiar. I couldn't put my finger on it.
Oh yeah. It was that blonde headed tornado. And it was heading straight for us.
"G-Go away, Neru! Can't you see she's had a rough day?" Kagamidiot points to my leg, and almost whimpers.
Listen, when Len tries to defend you, don't let him. He could get real beat up.
Y'know if you care...
Anyways.
"What? That? That was just a little accident~" She becomes a giggling mess and I rolled my eyes.
"Oh yeah, of course-" I was about to expose her for what she did, but Len was looking back and forth is confusingly, as if he was a newborn baby that just stopped crying.
"Oh?~ why don't I just tell him your little secret?" Neru purred, leaning into us.
"I already told him!" Stupid stupid stupid. I shouldn't have said that.
"Oh? What about your other little secret?" Crap. My enrollment to the school. It's... its forged handwriting.
Why does Neru look so alike me, though..? Other than the blonde hair... she's only like three or four years younger than me. Why does she hate me so much?
"Len~ How can you have a romantic interest in her at all? She won't even tell you the full truth." Not wasting his time on the 'romantic interest' crap, he just rolls his eyes and furrows his brows.
Suddenly, he has a face of realization.
"Neru... did- did you do this?"
Neru laughs sickeningly. I don't dare say a word.
"Mikuo! Mikuo! I think I found them!" I yelled, and regretted it as soon as I saw Neru Akita hovering over them, probably bickering about something stupid.
I nudge Mikuo, making his head tilt in confusion. He clenches his fists when he sees Neru.

"Akita..." He mutters.
Did she... do something?
"Well? DID you?" I can hear Len shout in anger, looking ready to.. hurt someone?
"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't," Neru played with her hair, twirling it around like a fork on pasta, smirking.
"If you EVER lay a finger on her again, I'll-"
"Guys..." Miku whispers roughly, her eyes dead.
"You'll what? Pinch me? Pull my hair? Ooh! Ow!" Neru imitated fake pain.
"Guys." Miku said a bit louder.
"Ugh! I don't understand! How could you-"
"GUYS!"
Everyone, including a surprised Neru, stayed silent.
"Please stop... fighting. This isn't what I wanted," Hot tears streamed down her cheeks.
"I'm ready to go home now..." She mutters, stumbling back into her wheelchair.
Len takes two breaths in and out, and then nods.
"Okay Miku," He smiles weakly. My brother was on a roll.
No one stops him from being on a roll.
I didn't want to believe she was dead back then. I didn't want to know about her husband.
Until Mikuo told me.
She was the one who helped me.
She worked as my therapist.
A mother. A mother to me.
Me. A scrawny little nobody in every stupid high school drama.
Without her, I stopped functioning. It's like dystopia and anarchy all into one mix.
It's horrible.
"IA! What's lingerie?" I was shocked to hear such language from a child, and couldn't help but smirk, holding back a few snickers.
"Who told you that?" I asked curiously, awaiting his answer as I crouch down to his level. My long white hair is sprawled out against my shoulder, and my piercing blue eyes were staring almost into his soul.
"Daddy! He was talking with someone... I don't think it sounded very nice..." Mikuo pouted and gave me puppy eyes.

Lingerie? Mikuo overheard Lingerie?
I stopped having flashbacks right there. I couldn't bear to stand the look on his face once I didn't tell him, so he looked it up on his own.
Without telling me.
I hold back a mournful laugh as I look around the bar, and chug my anti depressant pills down to reduce the chance of any heart attacks/seizures, etcetera.
I couldn't care less by this point, so I chugged down my beer with them.
Looking around the bar, I sigh and shake my head.
Until something catches my eye.
"Mr. Hatsune?"

The Glyph Queen
When Winnie was thirteen, her settlement taught her how to fire a rifle. Her school practiced drills in case raiders came, and the town grew crops in their greenhouse-adapted homes, which were the only places warm enough during the worldwide nuclear winter. The Lakiran empire invades—a corporate-born nation overseen by their corporate-born queen, Victoria Paladino. They ride silent planes whose repulsion field veered bullets away. Three years of occupation later, an exemplar visits—a member of Victoria’s oversight committee rumored to read minds. He tells Winnie that she may have a unique mental power, or a flair. At the empire’s capital, the queen herself tutors Winnie to help her reach the full potential of whatever power she may have. Meanwhile, in post-war Nigeria, a streetwise teenager named Naema sees a different side of the empire. Between corruption and oppression, everyone lives in squaller. People fight over assembled food pastes. She too is told she has a unique flair, not by the empire, but by a fugitive woman who is the last vestige of an ancient witch coven, and she knows a dark secret about what the exemplars do to people like Winnie and Naema.
