Peter awoke to the sound of his alarm blaring 'umbrella' from his bedside table.

In an effort to turn it off he slammed his hand down on it, only to smash it to bits.

He groaned tiredly and snuggled further into the sheets and the arms of his boyfriend.

Harley smiled tiredly up at him when Friday told him that Peter's Dad was heading towards their room.

After May's death two years back, Tony adopted Peter and he fit right into their dysfunctional family.

Peter whimpered as Tony slammed the door open and ordered Friday to turn on the lights. His taller boyfriend chuckled as the younger boy attempted to burrow into the comforter.

"Peter get up you have school," Tony said exasperatedly. "Mfhmhd" came Peter's muffled reply. "Peter we do this every morning... you procrastinate, wanting to sleep in, I cave and ultimately you find out the time, panic and leave in a rush. Just this once can we have a nice breakfast together before I head to Wakanda to get the King and Princess tomorrow?"

Peter just groans in response to Tony's rant.

"Steve made pancakes" he tries. "I'm up!" Peter yells suddenly, causing his tired boyfriend to groan and chuckle, producing a very strange sound.

Peter dressed, and waited for Harley to ready himself before grasping his hand and making his way to the kitchen where some of the team resided.

The boys took their usual seats, swiftly joined by the God of Mischief, a billionaire and an Icecube.

Peter hadn't slept very well the night before due to nightmares so was not in the best of moods.

Loki sensed this and kept up idle chatter with the boy to keep his mind occupied.

On days like these, when Peter didn't want to deal with anyone annoying him at school, Loki would join him in snake form.

This had many perks. For example, peter's teachers were too scared to tell him to get rid of it, he had a calming presence around his arm or neck constantly; and undoubtedly the greatest perk, Flash was terrified of snakes.

While Flash not going near him on these days was good in and of itself, it also meant that Loki never saw the bullying that happens to Peter in school on the days without his green companion.

Today was the same, with Loki planning to join Peter for his day at school. Loki sensed his bad mood and immediately transformed, slithering up his sleeve to his shoulder.

Peter kissed Harley goodbye waved to his family before heading to Happy's parked car. Backpack in hand, Peter greeted Harry, receiving a signature grunt of reply before allowing his mind to wander for the remainder of the journey.

A light pressure on his arm indicated Loki's announcement of their arrival.

Peter climbed out of the car, waving the head of security goodbye and heading towards the door of his school, head down, headphones in, and Loki standing proud on his shoulder, daring anyone to approach.

Peter arrived at his locker without incident and grabs his book from his locker before heading to homeroom (I'm not from the US so I don't know if that's accurate)

He slouched in his seat and watched his best friend slide into the seat beside him before Ned began rambling about some YouTube video he had just recently seen.

Peter zoned out and prepared himself for the day; unaware of the bombshell waiting to be dropped.
