Waking up I could hear Yvette in the kitchen cooking. Sitting up I stretch before throwing the covers back and walking out of the room.

"Why are you slamming pots and shit". I ask taking a seat at the bar watching her move around the kitchen.

"So you don't hear me talking to you". I ask and she slams a pan on the counter.

"Where did you go in my car yesterday Jodie". She asked staring at me.

"I went to my mom's house". I said and she started laughing causing me to look at her crazily.

"Fuck is you laughing for". I ask with my face scrunched up.

"I just think it's funny that you lying to my fucking face". She said shaking her head.

"How you gone tell me I'm lying". I ask watching her throw stuff on a plate.

"Because I called her yesterday Jodie and she said she ain't seen you so where were you". She said tossing the plate in front of me almost making it fall on the floor.

"Man I was over there she was at work though". I said causing her to look at me.

"You know what okay Jodie". She said before walking out of the kitchen.

Shaking my head I pick up my fork and start eating.

After I was done I wash my dish out and walk to our room where she laid watching tv.

Walking to the closet I find something to wear before taking a shower.

Stepping out of the shower I get dressed before walking out of the bathroom.

"Hey daddy". JoJo said looking from the tv at me.

"Wassup when you get here". I ask walking over kissing his forehead.

"Mama just got me". He said looking back over at the tv and I nodded my head.

Walking out of the room I head to the living room and grab the keys off of the counter.

"Where you going". Yvette asked looking over at me as she laid on the couch.

"I'm going to my mom's house". I said facing her.

"I thought you were already at your mother's house the other day".She said sitting up with a mug on her face.

"She needs my help with something I'll be back later".I said before walking out of the door and locking it.

Walking down the steps I get in the car and drive off.

Pulling up outside the house I get out of the car and see a truck in the driveway.

"What you doing to the backyard mama". I ask looking at her plant something into the ground.

"Now I been told you I was starting a garden you just hear what you want to". She said as I leaned down giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"Now you know that's not true". I said with a small smile.

"What you planting". I ask looking around the unfinished garden.

"Collards, mustard greens, Pento beans". She said pointing to different parts of the garden.

"But enough of that hows Yvette". She asked picking up the shovel.

"She good at the house chillin". I said watching her dig into the ground.

"I can't just keep giving you money every time you decide you ain't ready for a child and I know that poor girl tired of going through it too". She said causing me to look down and sigh.

Hearing somebody walking up I look over and see this buff ass dude walking out and over to my moms.

"This is my friend Melvin he owns a construction company maybe you can go and work for him". She said as he stared at her.

"Ya mama tells me you have a problem finding a job, I know how that is myself". He said as I stared at him.

"I'm good homie". I said folding my arms.

"I'm gone take these back to the truck". He said looking down at my mom before walking away.

Watching him walk out of the backyard my mom walks over doing the same.

"So you got a boyfriend now". I ask looking over at her.

"Hey, mama got to have a life too". She aid causing me to roll my eyes.

"What you need a life for when you got me". I said with a smile on my face.

"Jodie get the hell on". She said pushing me causing me to laugh.

"Look I'm about to go we got JoJo back today from Yvettes' mom's house today". I said giving her a hug.

"Y'all need to bring him around here so he can help me with this garden". She said causing me to laugh.

"JoJo don't want shit to do with this garden". I said and she bucked at me rolling her eyes.

"Get ya ass out". She said waving me off.

"Nah for real he'll be by soon". I said and she nodded.

"Alright, I love you bye". She said picking up a garden hose.

"I love you too ma". I said before walking out of the backyard and to the car.

Getting in I cut the radio off and drive off.

She really starting a damn garden...
