《Daughter of Mortis》The Revolution

Several months had passed since Ania had joined the Rebels. Whenever Ahsoka was on Lothal, they had spent the majority of their time training. Ania hadn't yet been invited on any of "Fulcrum's" missions. She had, however, been offered a place on the Ghost and was allowed to walk about without an escort, much to Kanan's disapproval. Hera had deemed her Spectre 7 and had even trusted her with a few relief missions!
Ania wiped a bead of sweat from her brow as she set another crate onto the large pile. Today, she had been put on inventory duty. Again. Ania gritted her teeth and stacked a few more crates. "I hate this job," she growled. She glanced up to the glaring sun. A trail of smoke caught her gaze. Ania pulled a pair of monoculars off her belt and held them up. Between the cone rock formations, she spotted the source of smoke.
An A-wing fighter was making it's way towards them, leaving a trail of smoke behind! She lowered her monoculars and turned to see Ezra running over. "Come on. Hera wants us to go after him in your ship. There could be TIE's following him!"
Ania nodded and ran with Ezra towards the Ravager. Tolsa was already there, prepping the engines. Ania quickly took off. "Everyone sit down," she ordered.
They breezed past the A-wing. Tolsa pointed past Ania. "Look! TIE's. Three of them!"
Ania grinned wickedly. "Here's where the fun begins! Let's see if we can draw them out of the atmosphere so we don't attract anymore attention."
Ania let a few shots fly at the TIE's before jerking the Ravager up. She felt her body being forced against the seat as the atmospheric pressure set in. As soon as they reached open space, Ania let out a sigh of relief. She brought the ship around, searching.
Sure enough. The three TIE's had followed her. Ania saw her comm channel blink online. She activated it. An Imperial Pilot appeared on her holodisk. "B-Wing fighter, surrender now," the pilot said.
"Come and get us, fly boy!" Ania replied. She switched off the comm and pointed to one of the controls. "Guns, one of you." Ezra leaped towards the controls and readied himself. Ania quickly lined the ship up with one TIE. Ezra fired a few shots and the TIE exploded in a colorful inferno.
"Great shot!" Tolsa exclaimed.
Ania gritted her teeth as one of the TIE's managed to hit the ship. The shields held. Ania flew in a zigzag pattern and brought the ship around, dodging more blasts. Ezra continued to fire at the TIE's. A burst of light and smoke, followed by insane beeping roused Ania's attention.
"Blast! They hit the shields! They're powering down!" She quickly flipped a few switches and converted what remained of the shields to the cockpit. "Get ready to fire the ion lasers! We're taking them in one shot," Ania ordered. She quickly looped the ship in a barrel roll and came out behind the two TIE's. "Now!" She shouted.
Ezra pulled the large lever and four beams of hot plasma joined into one large beam. It tore through the TIE's, leaving nothing behind. Ezra grinned wickedly. "That was fun."

Ania shook her head. "They'd better be paying for my ship's damage." They headed back to the surface. After landing, the three of them approached Hera for debriefing.
"Well done, you three. You took care of those TIE's pretty quick," Hera said.
"The pilot?" Tolsa asked.
"Alive, but not stable." Hera sighed and shook her head. "At the rate we're losing ships, Phoenix Squadron won't have enough firepower to do anything substantial."
"I have enough to buy seven ships," Ania said suddenly. "It'll take everything I've got, but if you want, I can get you ships."
Hera's eyes lit up. "Thank you. I'll talk it over with Commander Sato and get back to you." She nodded, dismissing them.
"I need to go find Kanan. We've got some training to do and he'll kill me if I'm late again," Ezra said. He darted off, waving over his shoulder.
"Seven ships, huh? That's a lot."
Ania and Tolsa turned, spotting the Mandalorian girl, Sabine, headed towards them. "My targets always came with a good payout," Ania said.
"So it seems. What ships were you looking at?" Sabine asked.
"I'm not sure. Maybe a Corellian G9 Rigger. You have any suggestions?"
Sabine typed something into the screens on her cuffs. A rotating holograph appeared. "A Kom'rk. They're Mandalorian. Heavy assault, great firepower, and they're fast."
Ania placed a hand on her chin and examined the ship. "I like it."
"I've got my eye on one. Give me the word and I'll send you the contact info." Sabine tipped two fingers to Ania before heading off.
"Ania, can we please train now? You said we would," Tolsa groaned.
"Oh, yeah. Let's go." Ania led the way out of the Rebel camp. They arrived at their usual training area shortly. Ania quickly had Tolsa take up a position. "I'm going to try to use a stealth attack on you. I want you to sense where I am." Ania held up a blindfold and wrapped it around Tolsa's head. "Ready? Begin."
Ania crouched low to the ground and began to slink around Tolsa. She watched but the Twi'lek made no signs of noticing her. Ania silently slid between Tolsa's legs and swept them. Tolsa grunted but stood. Ania reached out, sending a rock clanking on the other side of the clearing. Tolsa turned to her. Ania grinned as a searching hand reached her through the Force. Tolsa pulled the blindfold off.
"I did it!"
"Yes, but it took you a while."
"I couldn't find you. There are so many people in the Force," Tolsa explained.
"Hm. You'll have to ask Kanan about differentiation someone's presence. I'm not good at explaining it." Ania paused as her comm flickered on.
"Spectre 7, you are mission approved," Hera said through the comm.
Ania's eyes lit up. "Yes!" She exclaimed. "You ready to buy some ships?" Her comm clicked on again.
"Spectre 5 and Spectre 6 will join you."
"Oh, looks like I'm staying behind," Tolsa said. "Let's go back. I'm sure you'll have to leave soon and I want to talk to Kanan about that presence thing." Ania nodded and followed Tolsa away from the clearing.

Kanan and Hera met them just outside of the camp with Ezra and Sabine in tow. Kanan wordlessly passed Ania her lightsabers and blasters. "Commander Sato has sanctioned the purchase of several A-Wing fighters for the Rebellion. Whatever additional ships you buy will be with your own credits," Hera said.
"This could take a while. We'll most likely have to go off world to find some of these ships," Ania replied.
"That's why those two are going with you," Kanan said, interrupting Hera's reply. Hera shot Kanan an exasperated look and rolled her eyes.
She placed a hand on Ania's shoulder. "Ezra and Sabine are coming to fly any ships you buy. I trust you completely," she shot a specific look at Kanan.
Ania smirked at the scowling Jedi. "We'd better get going." She turned to the Ravager. It had already been prepped and fueled, thankfully. As soon as Ezra and Sabine were strapped in, she lifted off and rocketed through the planet's atmosphere.
"So, Sabine, where can we find the best Kom'rk ships?" She asked. "We're gonna need to jump to lightspeed while we're still in the atmosphere so the Empire can't stop us."
"Mandalore. Keldabe if you want the specifics."
Ania quickly input coordinates to Mandalore and waited until the familiar ding hit her ears. "This could get a little bumpy," she warned. With the pull of a lever, the world around them blurred and rocketed them into lightspeed. Ania twirled her chair around. "Mandalore, you say? Good thing I have my armor with me."
"It'll definitely help us blend in more but..." they both turned to Ezra.
"What are you looking at me for?" Ezra raised his hands defensively.
"We'll just say he's our servant or something," Ania said, waving a hand.
"Hey," Ezra crossed his arms.
"Got any food in this place?" Sabine asked. "I'm starving."
"There should be some ration packs in the galley." Ania pointed in its direction. Sabine nodded and headed off.
"A servant? Really? I'll have you know I have a very good disguise name," Ezra said mockingly.
Ania turned in her chair. "Oh really? Like what?"
"Jabba," Ezra said with a smirk. Ania just looked at him before bursting into laughter. She banged her fist on the control panel. "What? What's so funny?" Ezra demanded with wide eyes.
Ania composed herself a tiny bit. "Jabba is a worm, Ezra. A giant slithering smelly oily worm and a Hutt none the less."
Ezra raised an eyebrow inquisitively. "What's a Hutt?"
"Wow. You really lived a sheltered life." She grabbed her datapad and pulled up several articles on the multiple Hutt Clans. "See?"
"Tatooine? Who would want to live on that dust bucket?" Ezra passed the datapad back. "Point taken though. Maybe I'll start going by..." he tapped a finger on his chin. "Ania."
"Don't you even think about it!" She punched his arm. Ezra glared at her mockingly before laughing.
"Don't worry. I'd hate to have people mistake me for a girl. A Togruta at that, actually."
Ania rolled her eyes. "We're coming up on Mandalore. Let's hope Sabine left enough rations for the return trip." She deactivated the hyperdrive and Mandalore jumped into the stars around them. The galley door hissed open and Sabine strode in. "Good. You fly so I can go put on my armor." Ania slid out of her seat and let Sabine take over.
Minutes later, they set the Ravager down on a landing pad outside of the large MandalMotors Tower. Ania and Sabine disembarked first, followed by Ezra. His lightsaber as well as Ania's had been left on the ship. A Mandalorian approached them.
"Ah, welcome miss..." the Mando began.
"Bonteri. Ashla Bonteri," Ania said swiftly. "I'm interested in a Kom'rk fighter. I'll pay handsomely for it." She flashed her datapad in front of the Mando. His eyes widened as he took in the numbers.
"Of course! The shipyard is right this way." The Mando turned and walked towards a large set of doors.
Ania moved closer to Ezra. "The only problem with using my credits over a transfer is Vader could easily track them. Be extra careful and observant. Tell me if you see anything suspicious," she whispered through her helmet.
The large shipyard doors hissed open and Ania's eyes widened. The guns on the ships, much less their size, was enough to make any pilot's mouth water. Ania eyed the first ship as the Mando began to describe its several qualities. She soon lost interest, however, and began to look at the other ships. Her gaze landed on a black ship with gold trimmings.
"That one," she said, interrupting the man.
"Oh, I'm afraid that one is already sold," he said.
"To who?"
He laughed nervously. "I'm not at liberty to disclose that information."
Ania moved closer to him and patted one of her blasters. "I said to who?"
"All right just lower your voice!" He hissed. "A bounty hunter; some young kid with blood money to spend."
"I'll give you double what he's asking."
The man sputtered. "That would be," he paused. "All right. Deal." He reached out a hand. Ania shook it firmly before pulling up the datapad. She turned it and let the Mando type in the necessary numbers. "Congratulations, Bonteri. The ship is yours." He nodded to four workers and they quickly released the gravity locks on the ship.
Ania grinned viciously. "I hope you two don't mind, but I think I'll be doing the test flight this time."
"What are you going to name it?" Ezra asked.
"The Revolution. I'm going to find a smaller ship for myself, but this baby," they had made their way towards the ship. Ania ran a hand across it's smooth surface. "It's going to put a few holes in the Empire's blockade, that's for sure." She looked up at the gun turrets. "Especially after I'm done with modifications." Together, they walked inside and Ania prepped the engines. The Revolution would fly against the Empire.
