- A few months before Prologue -
Jack's POV
I glided down the thick snow, trailing frost using my staff on the way. I needed a break; No wonder the yetis and the Dingles felt stressful when it comes to Christmas, North could be very, very intimidating and bossy at busy times. Telling the yetis to paint robots red when they already painted it all blue; Poor yetis and elves. I used to start snowball fights and freeze them when its not Christmas season. And to stop me from being too obnoxious, North always uses Sandy's dream sand to put me to sleep and cause less trouble. Now they're all just too busy to... well, have a little fun. I visited Bunny and Tooth too, but I have to admit, spending too much time with them can get me bored.
Jamie's busy as well; With all the Christmas coming near, he and his family are doing some preparations for the season. Decorating Christmas trees was Jamie's favourite, he told me. oHe also apologized for not hanging out much with me but I said its okay - I could have fun by myself. Ha! I lied though. I can't have fun when everyone's busy. It just makes me more anxious for Christmas to end, and that. That feeling is so wrong. Very, very wrong. Because Christmas only comes once a year! But still.
I walked to the frozen lake, hitting everything I see that I'd passed with my staff and freezing them. I sat down on the lake's bank, making more frosting around me. I remembered when I first became Jack Frost. I was too excited with my powers, but when I realized no one could see me, I felt a little bit... sad. Pshaw. And angry. Yeah, somehow.
"Jack Frost," A feminine childlike voice startled and I stood up immediately, I examined every facet of the lake in front of me, not aware of who said my name but I found no one. "Huh?" I breathed. Then she sighed. "I'm behind you." I looked behind me as she ended her sentence. Standing there was a girl, (obviously.) she was wearing a dark cloak which is shadowing her face completely and was wearing a quite old-fashioned dress. Not literally old-fashioned, it was simple yet classic, actually. It was the cloak that made her appearance more complex.

She stepped out from the tree shadows, making no difference in her appearance, she still looked... shadowy, like before, only with a quite pale skin. The questions here : Who is she and why is she so...mysterious?
"Who are you?" I asked, leaning onto my staff. She chuckled before answering.
"A very, very old friend of the Guardians'," she paused. "Except you, though." Her cloak bobbed as she looked at me. Saying that she's an old friend of North, Bunny, Tooth and Sandy never answered anything though. She should've said her name. "You sound quite young to be such an old friend." I laughed and I could see the shadow of her lips forming as she smiled. "I've lived as long as you have, Jack." I stopped laughing and looked at her, raising an eyebrow.
I aimed my staff at her, ready to attack. "You're not with Pitch, aren't you?!" I yelled at her.
Surprisingly, she scoffed, not afraid of my threat to shower her with sharp ice-cones. Old friend or not, if she's associating (Wow, I sound so professional.) with Pitch, she's dead frozen meat. And I mean that. Literally.
"Why would I be with that horse-headed Boogeyman? He can do no good for me." She raised her hand and wiped her fingernails on her cloak, in an attempt to show that she has no reason in the world to work with Pitch. I still had my staff aimed to her direction, though, as a precaution.
"Well, then what do you want?" I asked.
"I've heard the Moon," The shadow of her lips frowned. I softened and lowered my staff. "How could you hear it? You're just... an ordinary-"
She suddenly raised her hand and aimed it to a nearby pine tree, with a flick of one of her fingers, flame ignited in her hands and flew to the tree, seting it on fire. I gaped at the flaming tree for a quite long time, until she snapped her fingers, and the fire on tree was no longer there, just debris of the previous burn.

"Did that look ordinary to you?" She folded her arms to her chest.
"At first I thought you were," I rubbed the back of my neck in embarrassment.
"Listen," I turned my attention back to her. "If you try to zap me with you frozen ice sickles, well..." She clicked her tongue as I raised an eyebrow. "That's not going to work on me."
"Right... I have to find a solution then." I grinned at her and she nodded.
"Jack Frost," She backed away into the tree shadows. I started after but she stopped me by raising her palms to my direction. "Tell North, I will meet him... soon." And with that, a strong gust of wind carried her cloaked body to a place I never knew where.
I didn't know if it was my instincts or what, but I started to run to the pole's direction, and the wind picked me up, carrying my body to North's workshop.
As I got there I ran straight to North's room. I hit yetis and elves on my way, almost freezing them, and got thankful when the door was right on my sight. I busted the door open without even knocking, anxiety taking over my body.
"NORTH!" I yelled at the red outfitted Guardian, and he cursed in Russian as I yelled so. "Jack Frost, you are a Guardian, you know better than yelling to another fellow Guardian." North had his pen in his right hand, his eyes bored through mine. "I met your old friend!" I yelled again, panting. North didn't commented on my yelling this time, instead his eyes widened and his face went poker.
"Which?" He went smug, and he was rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"I don't know her name but she can control fire, she wore a dark cloak and she sounded like Little Red Riding Hood." I laughed breathlessly when I said she sounded like that. "She wants me to tell you that she will meet you... soon." I leaned onto my staff as North stood up and smiled smugly.
"Its no one but Jade, little Jade Flame," North stared out the window as he mentioned her name.
"She helped us all when we needed a little bit fire." He chortled suddenly. "What I meant to say was, she helped us deal with Pitch. Her flame's light dispelled Pitch's shadows, she was quite legendary, to us. She was born the same year as you, Jack." North looked at me.
"She's heard the Moon, North," I stuttered.
"There must be something very special, then," He then rubbed his hands together and took his pen again. Sitting, he said to me.
"I can't wait to meet her again. You must see her face, Jack. She's so... stunning, should I say? She takes off her cloak in certain times only, though." He clicked his tongue, mumbling about how this.. Jade used to use her flame to Pitch.
I walked out of the room, dumbfounded. Yeah, so can't wait to see her again and let her melt my frosting.
