《Flame & Frost | Rise of the Guardians Fanfiction》Meeting Jade

Jade POV

I went back to my shack; Its quite meaningful to me, this shack had been my home since I became Jade Flame. I walked over to my antique bed, taking my bow and arrows that I'd placed earlier. Earlier, ha... Jack Frost, he really did thought I was ordinary, like North and the others when they first met me. I'm not going to lie with myself, Jack is... attractive. Don't get me wrong; Even though I'm a complete bad ass, with the flames and stuff, I still have those girlish feelings normal girls usually have.

Last night, the Moon talked to me; Not literally talk, but when he speaks to you, you just listen and you know it. Its hard to explain. I have no idea what he told me. That's why I'm coming to North for some help. I wanted him to have the words that I'm coming, (Thank goodness for Jack Frost being in that pond like I predicted.) so that the yetis won't even bug me if I tried to get in. The last time I stepped inside North's workshop the yetis tied me up with metal chains. Why metal chains? Because I burnt the normal, fibre rope.

The wind picked me up to North's workshop as I left my shack, it must be a really busy season for North, and for me too; I help fire ignite when they can't on their own. And there's a lot of fire in this world that can't ignite by themselves since its winter. I pity those homeless people, sometimes I see them cry when they can't produce fire. The wind keeps blowing off my hood from my cloak, so my hair exposed a lot and that bugs me. I'm never comfortable with people seeing my hair, or my face. Unless I get used to it, I will be.

I depended on the wind to take me to the pole; Me and my powers are getting weak when the temperature drops to zero. Or subzero. Must be a glorious season for Jack Frost. I set my feet to the huge door of the workshop when I arrived. Thankful the yetis are too busy, I pushed the door open. Elves and yetis looked at me for a moment before continuing their work. So they're properly informed, then... Good.

A yeti comes up to me and bowed. I nodded and he then led me up to North's room. The classical elevator never changed ever since I left here centuries ago, it still works fine. The elevator went up and I look below me, there were yetis painting toys, elves hammering on wooden cars;

"Quite a busy season for all of you," I said, still looking down. The yeti grumbled and nodded to me as I said so. "I'll take that as a yes?" It nodded again and I smiled, though I know it can't see me smiling.

When we reached North's room, the yeti knocked and opened the door for me and gestured for me to come in.

As I stepped into the room I found myself face to face with Bunnymund, North and Jack Frost.

Jack POV

I leaned onto my staff, yet again, waiting for Jade to arrive. Bunny had come since he wasn't much busy; And he and North had talked ever since he arrived. I got bored to listening their stories so I examined North's toys that he had put on his shelf. A few minutes of flipping the toys in my hand, I got bored.

Then I heard a knock on the door and it opened. Jade was standing there, a yeti behind her; She stepped in, turning around and mumbling her thank you to the yeti as it closed the door. North stood up, a big smile on his face as he saw her. "Jade! Long time no see, old friend!" North goes up to the smiling Jade and embraced her. Her body was so small comparing to North's. Bunny, too, went up to her and embraced her, just like North did. "Its been a long time, mate," Bunny said as he pulled away.

"You're hot, as usual," North chortled as Jade rang her childish laugh. "Its good to see you again, it has been a long time," Jade turned to look at me,the shadow of her lips forming to a smile as I smirked at her.

She then reached to her cloak's hood; And she opened it, revealing her true face.

She has a dark black, very dark black hair, tinted with red, it was shoulder's length, and she had her front hair braided to the back of her hair [QUICK AUTHOR'S NOTE : PICTURE OF JADE'S HAIRDO ON THE MULTIMEDIA SECTION! :D]; She has amazing light brown eyes with a red halo around her pupils, her eyes framed with thick and long lashes; Her lips were thin and cute with a pale pink color, and her skin was pale white, blush creeping onto her cheeks.

I didn't realize I was gaping at her until North snapped his fingers to me. He and Bunny laughed as I finally noticed his existence. "Huh? What?" I said to them, pretending that everything's fine and I didn't stare at Jade... Honestly, she's... pretty. Jade grinned at me before turning to North who had his ear to her face. She whispered something and North nodded, taking her to the farthest corner of the room. Bunny and I just stared at them talking in secrecy. Jade was talking quickly but softly, her hands moving every now and then to picture what she's talking about. North didn't interfere her talking, he just nodded at certain times.

Then she gestured at me and North sneaked a glance at my direction. For once, North talked. He kept gesturing to me and Jade, like there was a connection between us. To me, no, there is no connection between me and Jade; If that's even what they're talking about. Me and Bunny exchanged glances as they finished talking and approached us. "Whats going on?" Bunny asked with his thick Australian accent. North gave Bunny a 'I will tell you later' look and Bunny nodded. He grinned and wiggled a finger at me before breaking into a laugh.

"I'll just go back to work then. There isn't much time to lose! Christmas is coming near!" North laughed again and sat on his working chair. I looked at Jade confusedly; She was poker faced, and was looking down. Really, whats going on? Why is North suddenly... downright jolly? Jade excused herself and gave North a curtsy before turning to the door.

"Hey Jade?" I called after her just as she was about to turn the knob. "Yes, Jack?"

I went up to North's window and opened it, wide enough for her to see whats outside. I then stepped on the window frame and gestured for her to come with me. "Can I trust him on this?" Jade asked North as she passed him and went up to the window frame. "Pft. He's a Guardian, of course you can trust him," North winked at me and I rolled my eyes. "But Jade," Bunny caught her attention. "If he lets you fall into that frozen lake, be sure to burn him up if you managed to swim out, aye mate?"

Jade laughed. "I will,"

Jade looked down; "The heights pretty good," I said. "So is the wind," She added. "For a start, can I have a race with you?" I asked, holding out my staff to the window and prepared for a jump. She smirked at me and rubbed her hands together. "You'll win anyway. I'm weak at cold seasons." She looked down again. "On the count of three?"

"One, two," I counted with her, looking at each others eyes. "Three!" We yelled simultaneously as we dive into the cold air, strong wind carrying our bodies. I laughed at the other side of Jade that I didn't know existed; Partially because she was screaming and giggling when the cold air bats her face, and mostly because her cloak keeps covering her face and she has to keep slapping it away to prevent it from blocking her sight. We did loops in the air, and Jade was giggling again as we did so. She somehow reminded me of my sister.

"Where are we going?" I had to yell over the wind to get her attention; I saw the frozen lake as we flew by.

"If you want to come with me you could keep up," She took a fairly sharp turn and I struggled to keep up. Unlucky for her, her cloak had somehow slipped from her neck. "Oh no," She slowed and I almost bumped side-wards onto her as I tried to copy. She turned and fled to the opposite direction, fighting the wind current, reaching for her flying cloak which is out of her reach. I tried stopping her; And it includes pulling at her black dress. She fought, even though we both know its difficult to fly the opposite direction, especially at times where powers are weak; Which is her.

I pulled on her dress harder, and by the fact that she stopped fighting against the wind and too much force from me, she bumped onto my front body pretty hard- and that made us lose stability and plummet down... Down to the snowy ground.

It was a strange feeling. Jade didn't scream or try to escape from my hold, instead, I think she had curled herself onto my body as I tried to hold her as tight as I could. Jade's body first was hot as I touched her, but now I could feel her getting warmer - somehow getting colder. I started to worry - I wasn't a much feat when I'm heated up and hot myself. And I certainly don't mean hot in any other way different than just a temperature.

I closed my eyes as tight as I could and held Jade in my arms tighter when we crashed into the snow. Thankfully its thick, so I didn't have to put too much force to keep ourselves from the hard ground. I opened my eyes realizing Jade was under me, face first into the snow.

I could see now that her skin was even paler than pale. I put my staff aside, and started to roll her so that her front body was facing me. Her eyes were closed and under it were dark bags of fatigue. I'm not even sure if its fatigue or exhaustion.

"Jade?" I shook her body softly and somehow she winced. I removed my hand instantly. A few milliseconds later she was shivering, and I could hear her teeth chattering faintly. "Jack..." She was trembling as she said my name which sent butterflies in my stomach. Which I don't know why.

She started to open her eyes slowly and her overly pale hands hugged her body and trembled. I realized how the red halo around her pupils are getting fainter. "Are you okay? Too cold?" I climbed off her reluctantly when she slowly - and weakly - sat up. I touched her bare arms and then her neck, everywhere I touch her she is warm.

I have the feeling that she is supposedly be... overheated. Like, a hundred degrees hot, like how I'm cold, like subzero. "You're cold all over, I could freeze to ice by now." Her teeth chattered wildly as she said so. I smirked at her as she smiled at me, still shivering. "Sorry," She apologized suddenly, making me raise an eyebrow in question. "If it weren't for me we wouldn't have ended this way," She looked at me. I waved her off with a smile and stood up, offering my hand to help her get up. She smiled back at me but looked at my offering hand in fright, I was about to pull it back until she took it anyway. I pulled her in little effort; She was so light.

As we both stood in the middle of the snow, trying to figure out where we should go, Jade smoothed her dress; For the first time I'd completely noticed what she wore.

She had this... black sleeveless silk dress which had a red band just below her... (I'm trying to not be a perv. But she's a girl and still has the features of a normal woman.) chest. And when I looked down at her feet, she was wearing a black Converse. I raised an eyebrow at her choice of fashion. Quite trendy.

"Do you still want to follow me after all that?" She asked me softly as she kicked the snow out of her way.

"Of course I do," I looked at her skeptically. She simply shrugged and started to walk left.

"Is being a Guardian fun?" She stomped at the thick snow as she walks and it somehow melted. followed behind her, spinning my staff. "Its kinda awesome," I shrugged, though she couldn't see me shrug. "Can I ask you something?" I said when she didn't respond.

"Depends on the question," As her leg touched the snow, it melted. She must've regained her heat.

"What did the Moon tell you?" I had to bite my bottom lip to reduce my nervousness.

She stopped and turned to me, the red halo around her brown eyes getting evident and clearer. I pursed my lips as she sighed and rubbed the back of her neck, blush creeping to her cheeks.

"He um," she bit her lip as the flush on her cheeks got redder. "Its ridiculous," she laughed humorlessly and started to walk again. I grabbed her wrist, (Which is probably a bad idea.) I jerked my hand away just as she did, she was burning. "Spit it out," I rubbed my hands on my hood, the heat made my skin kind of numb. "Promise me you won't run away," she pinched the bridge of her nose. "Pinkie promise," I tried not to laugh as I help up my pinkie to her. She grinned and shook her head at me.

"Well," she avoided my gaze. "Well?" I pressed.

"We..." She gestured to me and her; "Are... " I nodded slowly as she trailed off.

She sighed in defeat and muttered under her breath.

"We're meant to be? Sort of like... mates."

I widened my eyes as she grabbed a fistful of her hair and started to pull it roughly.

"Seriously?" I leaned to her.

She scrambled her hair as she answered. "Yeah. I couldn't believe it myself."

"I believe," She narrowed her eyes at me in question.

I smirked at her, who continued pulling her hair and groaning.

This girl is just adorable.
