"You're tired. Take a rest. I'll take over." Jade touched Jack's slumped shoulder lightly when he had his head bowed down, sitting in his chair that he had been sitting on for probably more than 12 hours now. His limp hand came to grip his staff tighter, and harsh in Jade's eyes, he shrugged out of her touch. "Just let me be." Jade's pale hand fell to her side in disappointment, and she walked out of Jack's study without another word. Jack, on the other hand, was so irritated and drained that he didn't realize his mate was upset with him.

As a strong and steady kingdom, Trylle was constantly a target for those who wanted to ruin the peace and freedom that lies behind the barriers of strong elements. Not only having multiple guardians that defended the kingdom from threat, Trylle also had a strong backup of fighters and from the other Guardians as well. It seems hard for someone to try and cause havoc, but it was a harder pressure for the main ruler himself-- The Guardian of Fun, Jack Frost.

He was healthy as he is, but there was one thing that the person closest to him had noticed-- he's working harder and longer than he was supposed to and he didn't have the chance to fulfil his responsibility as a Guardian. Jade had tried to convince Jack to pass his works to the trustworthy people of Trylle for the time being, but all he ever did in response was make her walk off in utter disappointment.

Due to this, Jade had flew off from the castle walls and went to fend the kingdom at the barriers on her own, with her army, of course. It was the beginning of winter, and the trails were covered in specks of snow. The arch-- better known as the Entrance-- was free from snow, under Ben's orders, because he had noticed that it had became a difficulty for merchants to enter Trylle, due to the snow that's piling up.

Jade landed just in front of the entrance, and the people that recognized her quickly and hastily greeted her.

The marching of Trylle's trained soldiers -- that she handled-- had echoed throughout the whole kingdom, words spread that Jade Flame had decided to sort out the trespassers that meant harm. However, the words that spread fast like a current going down a waterfall, did not reach Jack Frost. That only means one thing-- he had shut the world out.

Jade's bright brown eyes lit up, the halo of red symbolizes fiery. Her red lips tugged up in a sly and creepy smile, half of her face hidden under the shadows of her black cloak. The Entrance way was silent, the guards that spent their miserable nights, guarded the criminals that were held inside the small prison. They show no signs of regrets, even after shedding blood with two of the guards, much to the Elementor's dismay.

As someone who was percieved as both elegant and powerful, Jade's slow steps' echoes had made the situation eerie. Jade had ordered the people near the Entrance to return home, as it was getting dark, to which they obeyed. Jade stood in front of the shameless criminals inside the cage, waiting for the absence of the Trylle citizen before starting.

"Well, well," Jade's tight lips then opened to reveal a menacing smile, showing her white rows of teeth, just like a predator getting ready to feast. The criminals, in a vast number -- about 20 individuals, some had their hands gripping the metal bars on the cage, stared at her in silent anger.

"You've made a big mistake to try and invade our land, do you realize?" One arm crossing her chest, the other spinning a small or tornado of fire in the air-- almost casually, these words left Jade's lips in a unharmful-hearing tone.

"This is our land, you useless pieces of witches are just controlling it!" One of them spoke up, and went to grip the metal bars as he gave her an angry glare. A fake gasp left Jade's lips, and she laid her palm over her chest as if she was offended. She looked down and seemed sad and hurt, her thick eyelashes covering the fiery colour of her pupils, but the act was broken as a slowly risen laugh echoed from her lips, and before they know it, Jade was already laughing at the man who objected her.

"Oh dear," Her expression suddenly turned startled, and again, it was fake. "I see someone is a bit late in catching up," She went up to the cage, and the prisoners had made no move to stay away from where she stood, because if they know what she was going to do, they are definitely going to stay away from metal, as fast as possible.

One touch from her finger to the metal had made it hot as fire and burnt the hands of those who made contact with it. The prisoners were already yelling and groaning, jumping here and there, making the cage shake. Yet, it was nowhere near to fall apart. They were untold that Trylle had the best form of torture, and even with the slight mercy Jade had gave them, made them regret it instantly.

However, Jade was already deaf to apology, and smiled brightly as she gripped the metal, the temperature rising drastically. The guards and the soldiers who were dispatched were slowly getting terrified of seeing Jade enjoy what she was currently doing.

The bright red halo around her eyes had started to blend into the brown completely, she was engulfed. But just as the torture was about to reach its peak, Jade released it with a breath and backed away, ever so suddenly. She felt exhausted already, probably because she doesn't do these kind of things very often.

"Hm," Jade shook her head and planted her hands on her hips as she monitored the prisoners. "You're all lucky I got tired," Her breathing was getting labored, and she looked away as dizziness started to pound in her head, suddenly. "Guards-- ah!" She gasped in surprise, her sentence cut off as a wash of cold water hit her. Her body tensed and between her squinting, she caught a glance of one of the prisoners using his water bottle and its contents to surprise her.

The soldiers come to her defense and started to form a shield around her, partly asking if she was alright. With a bitter smile, she nodded, telling them to not worry and gave a glare to whoever did so to her. "What brats," She muttered under her breath before ordering those around her.

"I was planning to send you all to your countries," She stood straight, trying to ignore the fast beating of her heart. "But you've changed my mind," She turned to order the guards to lock the criminals in the deepest pit of Trylle prison, in the farthest corner of the kingdom.

"I'm counting on you," She said, her eyes returning brown. The leader nodded at her and bowed. "I'm sorry to burden you all. Just go home and have a good rest once you've finished stuffing these menaces in the prison," With that, she walked away, tugging her cloak's hood lower.

She can't be bothered to fly, she was content with seeing the Trylle people living in peace on her way to the castle. She sighed and hugged her own body, her steps getting slow since her back was soggy and got inside her shoes, she also didn't bother to dry them off. She felt so drained.

"Probably because of the cold." She lets a strangled laugh as she said this to herself. As the cold night starts to get darker, a silhouette landed just in front of her.

I was startled, but I didn't take any measure of defense. Just as the shadow blocked my way, I only stood there, frozen. The silhouette then slowly stepped out of the shadows and I sighed as I realized who it was.

"Why did you go without me?" Jack had his head in his hood, approaching me with a disappointed frown. I looked at him, too tired to pull a specific expression. I walked past him, breathing out. "You just can't be bothered," My voice sounded strained, and this had made him look startled.

"Jade," He spun and joined me by my side as I walk slowly. His hand reached out to me and unbuttoned my cloak. It fell onto the trail with a thud. An exhausted sigh left my lips. "It's freaking cold, Jack." I glared at him, who had a bitter smile before but the smile was erased once he saw me genuinely annoyed. "You're not in the mood to have fun, are you?" So were you.

"You can check out the soldiers if you want to. They might've preferred you than me." I evaded his question and continued to walk, he didn't follow. I heard him sigh, and the sound of wind echoed behind me. I spun, only to find that he wasn't there anymore.

As I entered the castle, warmth wasn't greeting me. The rest of the elementors were all sitting on the round couch in the living room, almost looking like they were anticipating my arrival. They stood up simultaneously upon seeing me enter, as I close the door behind me. I raised an eyebrow at their expression of contempt. "Where's Jack?" Aqua literally ran up to me and caught my shoulder when I ignored them and started for the stairs.

"He went to monitor the operation," I shrugged out of his hand and looked at him exhaustively. "Why aren't you together?" Upon hearing his question, I growled slightly. "Stop asking me questions that even I don't know how to answer," I said rigidly, this time leaving him standing there dumbfounded and ascended the stairs up to my room. I still can hear Aqua's voice that ordered someone to tell Jack about my behavior, but I was too drained to care.

I turned the door handle that led into my room, and closed it behind me once seeing the fireplace perfectly lit. I looked like I was hungry, running up to sit with my legs crossed, directly in front of the prickling fire. As I dip my hand into the flames, energy surged in my veins, almost seems like it gave electricity to my drained body.

The day in the life of Jade Flame, everybody. I don't usually do paperworks and make laws. I go round and out the kingdom, most likely to do my daily routine-- giving warmth. I do it daily, perfectly, even. It was Jack who doesn't.

I find myself blaming it on Jack, and sighed. I knew I shouldn't be blaming it on him, it was his responsibility anyway-- not mine. However, he shouldn't be so timid and cold about this. I was just trying to buy him some time. It seems like he doesn't accept my help, after all.

I leant my head on the walls of the fireplace, and didn't bother to swipe my hair out of my face since I was already in a comfortable position. Physically, I feel like I could burn a building down, but inside I felt so tired and poorly. My eyes drooped, but I never fell asleep, only to stare at the falling snow out my massive window.

Suddenly, a shadow raised just in front of the window. I couldn't make out its shape, but I'm sure it's a person-- good or bad, I don't know. The shadow just stayed there, almost looking like it's waiting for me. Reluctantly and cautiously, I walked up and opened the window slowly, my fingers on a speck of fire. I could turn it into a bonfire anytime.

I was beyond surprised that my window was forced open when I hadn't even opened it halfway through. Cold wind gusted into my room, sending chills down my spine, and the snow started sticking into my room's floorboards. I cursed under my breath in surprise, and almost like it's on cue, the shadow just flew into my room and knocked my out of breath.

Once it was inside, the window was closed with a wave of its hand, and it literally ran up to me.

I couldn't even blink my eyes once Jack started gripping my shoulders and planted his cold lips on mine, dying my inner fire down. I heard his staff fell on the floor, and rolled to the side. Despite of his fingers on my shoulder being cold, I felt warmth when he didn't pull away after a long moment. His hands started going down my sides, and stopped at my waist, rubbing circles as he pressed me to him.

When he finally pulled away, I look at him with a sense of both confusion and relief. "Are you okay?" Was the question that left my mouth. He was out of breath, beaming at me. He then nuzzled his face into the crook of my neck, embracing me tightly.

"I've never been better," His lips touch my collarbones, trailing up to my cheek. In response, I closed my eyes, where he kissed my eyelids softly. His cheek touched mine as he ran his fingers through my hair, letting it fall down my back. His fingers started to fiddle with the truth pendant he gave me, and I felt his cheek raise as he smiled.

"You're so weird," I laughed, and pulled my face away to let him see my smile. "I like it!" I continued, smiling brightly. I encircled my hands to his neck, leaning in to peck my lips on his. I intended to pull away quickly, but he seemed to take over and continued the kiss, this time more passionately. My palm went to cup his cold cheek absently, as he kissed me over and over.

"I'm so, so, so sorry," He said between kisses. I instantly knew what he was talking about, since I ranted about it not too long ago and tried to nod to forgive him. I felt him smile into the kiss, and took steps backwards until I bumped onto the bedside. I tried my best to not let myself fall onto the comfortable sheets, but Jack's tactic was too smart for me.

He tilted his head lower as he kissed me, making me lose my balance and fall onto the bed eventually. The kiss was broken, and I tried to get up, but Jack was already caging my body by climbing on top of me and continuing the kiss.

Jack started to tug on my hand, but suddenly the door to my room burst open. Reflexively but regretfully, Jack rolled off me, putting his chin on his palms as he quickly smiled at the person who interrupted. I did the same, looking alert.

Myself and Jack was still out of breath, and it was an evidence that's clear enough. "Oh my God! Sorry!" Breeze shrieked, looking startled at the door. Ben was behind her, lightly cupping her waist from behind as he smirked at us slyly. Jack ran a hand through his hair and waved his hand lazily.

"It's alright, we're not up to something important anyway," He said, trying to control his labored breathing. He glanced at me, his lips that were moist because of the kiss had tugged up at one side in a smirk. I cleared my throat awkwardly, smoothing my hair that had gone crazy, thanks to Jack's wild fingers.

"What's up?" Jack asked, and glared at Ben who wriggled his finger at us mockingly, making kissing sounds. "There's a gathering at the Center Plaza, to celebrate the coming winter. We should come," Breeze mentioned about the main city in the kingdom-- it wasn't a city, actually, since Trylle was old fashioned.

Jack pursed his lips and glanced at me for answers. I shrugged my shoulders. "Well I can't see why not--" My reply to Breeze was short as Jack cut in. "Does it have to be now, though?" Hearing this, Ben and Breeze tried to hold in their knowing smirks, and I rolled my eyes at Jack's question. "Yes, Jack." Ben replied then, crossing his arms up his chest. Then, three more individuals started to show up my door, Aqua, Si and Angus.

They peeked inside my room curiously, and wasn't surprised to see me and Jack on the same bed. "I see you're feeling better already, Jade," Aqua chuckled, peeking from the door. I glared at him and scoffed. "Hey, what are you guys standing there for? Get away!" Jack said playfully, waving his hands off as if to make them go away.

Again, Ben mocked him with kissing sounds, walking away from the door and dragging Breeze with him. "Come on, guys. Let's give them some privacy and a heart to heart talk," Angus snickered, and waved at us before closing the door. Jack immediately rise from his position and went to lean against the door, pressing his ear onto the wooden material, needing to know if they're still hovering behind the walls. "What are you doing?" I whispered, and joined him.

He smiled and shook his head, his hand came to lock the door. I went to his waiting arms, wrapping my own around him. "I'm sorry if I ignored you these past few days," He murmured, resting his head on mine. "I've realized how much I've let you down, and made you lonely. You still need me after all, don't you?" His tone was playful, and I frowned as he smirked at me.

"The people said that you looked more graceful when you're with me, unlike when you're alone," His cold hand caressed my cheek softly, and I looked at him. "You know I can't live without you," He leaned in, our foreheads touching. I beamed at how he said it was literal, and can be just a set of words that can melt the heart, as well.

"I'm just so sorry, I--" He went silent, eventually, as I pressed my lips to his, embracing him tighter. The kiss was soft and warm, my hand brushing his jaw lightly as his hold my back. When we pulled away, Jack bit his lips and smiled, bringing my fingers to his chest.

"I love you," I said, and saw the pendant emit a soft glow. Jack had noticed the pendant and smirked at me, his arms wrap around me once more. "I love you, too. More than my own life." I laughed and returned his embrace, nuzzling my face into his chest and inhaling his minty scent that I had missed so much.

"What about all the paperworks?" I ask, and Jack laughed. "I asked Angus to finish them since I'm... busy," He smirked and kissed me again, tilting my chin up. "Have you seen the prisoners being stuffed into jail?" Jack nodded at this and raised an eyebrow. "But some had their skin burnt, though. Why is that?" I grinned sheepishly and Jack knew, without even listening to my answer. "I hope you don't do that again to me," I laughed and pretended to choke him, but instead, pressing my lips to his cheek. "I won't!"

"Hey, how would you like it if we visit Jamie? Haven't seen that kid in a while," He suggested, looking excited. "I think that's a good idea, you can have fun with the kids, too," He nodded at my remark, running his hand up and down my back slowly, as if to soothe me.

"I'm glad Man in Moon chose you," He said contently, his icy blue eyes soften as he looked at me. I hit his chest lightly. "Cheesy!" I pointed out, unable to hide my shy smile and the blush that creeped onto my cheek. "You like cheesy," Jack laughed and kissed the top of my head, ruffling my hair after pulling away.

"We need to go," His hold loosened, but he didn't let me go. "We can always continue this, you have my word." He whispered to my ear, sending chills down my spine.

Once Jack gave me a last, lingering kiss, we left the room after getting Jack's staff back. He embraced my side, and once we stepped out, we found ourselves surrounded by two pairs of laughing couples, -- Ben and Breeze, Aqua and Si.-- outside my room, clearly eavesdropping. Jack laughed along as I massaged my temples at their ridiculousness, and went to the Center Plaza together to celebrate winter.
