《The Fallen Council》XVII

I stood in front of Kira Fang with Godiva and Oskari behind me. Tears were falling down on her face as she looked into my eyes with her ruby eyes that were now teary and full of fear and regret. She had purple chains that hanged her on the wall from her wrists.
"Tell us everything you know about Zanax and her plans," I spoke out coldly as I crouch down next to her and place my finger under her chin to get better look at her eyes.
"I-I don't k-know much..! B-but s-she wanted to k-kill a-all of T-the Mains and Leads a-and she is a-apparently totally f-falling for O-oneus and w-would do anything f-for him..!" Kira cried out trembling with some of the words.
"!¡ᔑℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷℸ ̣ ╎ᓵ! ∴⍑𝙹 ∴𝙹⚍ꖎ↸ ∴ᔑリℸ ̣ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 ꖎ𝙹⍊ᒷ ℸ ̣ ⍑ᔑℸ ̣ ʖᔑᓭℸ ̣ ᔑ∷↸ ᓵᔑꖎꖎᒷ↸ 𝙹リᒷ⚍ᓭ?" I heard Godiva groan behind me.
I raised my left hand to shut her up and looked into the prisoners eyes. She was telling the truth.
"What else do you know, little gage bird?" I asked.
"I-I don't know a-anything else! S-she didn't t-tell me anything e-else..!" Our gage bird cried, she was getting hopeless.
"Tsk, looks like she doesn't have any more information. Let's go," I say standing up.
Godiva and Oskari follow me to the door.
"Wait! W-what about m-me..?" Kira shouts as we're about to leave the place.
"What about you?" I ask coldly tilting my head.
"Y-you aren't g-going to l-leave me here alone with t-these c-chains..? A-aren't y-you..?" She asked carefully with pure fear in her eyes.
"What else would I do to you?" I groan and walk out of the door.
Godiva shuts the lights and closes the door leaving the poor little gage bird all alone in the darkness. Luckily the door is soundproof so no one can hear her screaming.
We make it up the stairs and I turn to face the two Watchers.
"Alright, 𝙹ꖎ╎ you can go see how ⍑ᔑ||ꖎ╎ᒷ is doing," I start. "And ᓵ𝙹↸," I smirk.
"↸╎↸ ||𝙹⚍ ⋮⚍ᓭℸ ̣ ᓵᔑꖎꖎ ᒲᒷ ᔑ ⎓∷╎ᓵꖌ╎リ⊣ ᓵ𝙹↸?!" Godiva shouted.
"Yes, yes I did," I answered while smirking innocently. I can also notice that Oskari is trying not to laugh, and is definitely having hard time with it.
"So, ᓵ𝙹↸ you can go see if ᒷ↸↸╎ᒷ and ꖌᔑᓭ need any help with their work," I finish, still smirking at the Watcher's new nickname.
The raven haired female Watcher muttered something as walked away. I moved my glare to the male next to me.
"Do you want to come with me to see if ᓭ⍑ᒷリ is awake yet?" He asked running a hand through his black hair.
"Yeah, I actually could do that," I shrugged nodding and we started heading towards the medical center.
I was finally back in Hermitcraft after a couple of long days. All of the Hermits had been worried about me since I had kinda just disappeared for a short while.
"Hey Grian!" I heard someone call my name and turned around to Tango standing behind me leaning against my wall.
"Oh, hey Tango! What brings you here?" I gave a smile to the blonde male.

"I just wanted to see how you were doing. We were all worried about you, you know," He explained running a hand through his blonde hair.
"Right, I'm sorry about making you all worry about me," I gave him an apologizing smile.
"It doesn't matter anymore. We know that your safe and alright," Tango spoke out and ruffled my hair.
"I try not to do that again," I chuckle as the other ruffles my hair.
"Well, what are you up to with your house?" Tango asked looking at my 1.14 house.
"I need to continue making it taller, I don't want to lose the build off!" I smirk.
"I can totally believe that," He chuckled.
"I just have to figure out how to make taller and actually still look good," I sighed.
"I think that the design is incredible!" Tango said looking at the building.
"Yep, it's actually designed by some who was really close to me," I smiled slightly as I looked at the building.
"Looks like your friend is an amazing designer," The blonde said still analyzing the building with his red eyes.
"She definitely was. This isn't even her best work," I now smiled proudly.
"Oh shoot! I just realized that I have to go meet with Impulse and Zedaph!" Tango exclaimed as he looked at his communicator.
"Then you should go," I smiled at him.
"Well, see you later then! Bye, stay safe!" Tango exclaimed as he took off with his elytras.
"Bye, see you!" I waved as I watched him fly away to the distance.
Then I turn around and take out my communicator. I hadn't gotten any new messages from anyone. Right now I was just waiting for Haylie to tell me that Sherenidy has woken up, because I was starting to get worried about her. Also The Mains were now really busy with everything since they had missed a couple of months.
I sighed and raised my glare from my communicator. I didn't really know what to do so I decided to go gather stock for Sahara. Collecting sand and gravel was always a great way to kill some time.
I carefully opened my eyes to see the white ceiling and curtains. The medical center. I recognized the place right away. The curtains were opened and the blonde nurse gracefully sneaked through them. She gave me smile and sat down next to my bed.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" She asked.
"A little weird," I answered as I try to figure out what happened.
"You might be feeling a little weird and that's totally understandable. You, ̇/ᒷリ and ̇/ᒷꖎ managed to get us out of the void a couple of days ago," Haylie smiled and carefully ran a hand through my hair.
"Ah, so that actually worked?" I raised my eyebrows.
"Yep, ̇/ᒷリ and ̇/ᒷꖎ already woke up a few days ago and they're both perfectly fine," She explained still continuing to carefully ruffle my hair.
"I see. What about The Mains and The Leads?" I asked.
"Everyone is perfectly fine. We also decided that ̇/ᒷリ and Hypixel will become Mains and Evior, Ozinelle, Defek7 and AppleG will become Leads," Haylie continued to explain the situation.

"Alright," I nodded. "What about Kira Fang?" I grinned as I said her name.
"Ah, ᒲᔑ𝙹, ⊣𝙹↸╎⍊ᔑ and 𝙹ᓭꖌᔑ∷╎ threated her this morning. She's so pathetic! I suggested that we should kill her before someone decides to track her down," Haylie groaned.
"Mmh, I can't really do anything about that right now, but I know that ᒲᔑ𝙹 won't let her live any longer than we need her," I answered.
"I guess that you're right.," The nurse muttered. "I'm just tired of pretending to be weak! We could easily just kill Oneus and continue everything normally!" She snapped.
"We have to keep pretending so our people trust us. But Oneus is definitely in our way, really badly. Soon we'll have to get rid of him anyways so we can continue ruling everything," I spoke out with seriousness in my voice.
Haylie sighed, "I understand."
"Good," I nodded.
"Now, you should continue resting," The blonde smiles and runs a hand through my hair once more before standing up.
She disappeared gracefully through the curtain and soon came back with a potion. She made me drink it and then left again leaving me alone in the room.
'Welp, at least the plan worked,' I thought.
My eyes wondered through the room. I was looking for my blue cloak. It was the cloak I was supposed to be wearing since I was a Lead Watcher. I always took it off when I was working on something, Alden doesn't really appreciate when I do that.
Soon I found the cloak, it was hiding under my workshop's doormat, I wonder how it had gotten there.
I put my gloved hand on the metallic door handle and stepped out of my workshop. I took out my communicator and checked the messages.
Salve Dexy!
I noticed that the Portal Hub's
Teleporting console #5 is broken!
I thought that I would tell it to you
Since you're our mechanic!
Te videre! (16.39)
Dexter
(16.54) Thanks Leslie! I'll go fix that
immediately! See ya!
I put the communicator back to my pocket and started heading towards the Portal Hub. I made my way through The Main HQ and stepped outside feeling the cold wind on my face. I walked to the Portal Hub not paying attention to the stares I got from the players, who were excitedly taking pictures of me like it was really rare to see one of The Leads or Mains outside of the HQ.
I stopped in front of the console and pulled out my tool box. The console seemed to be mostly fine, this shouldn't take many hours. I started working ignoring the players walking past me. I could hear some of the girls giggle and say something like 'He's really cute!' or 'You should ask his number!', which was pretty annoying. The Council members didn't really care about relationships, mostly because we absolutely didn't have any time for them.
I had been working on the console for around half an hour when I heard something that made me actually turn around and look.
"HEY! STOP TAKING PICTURES OF THE LEAD WATCHER! CAN'T YOU SEE THAT HE'S BUSY WORKING?!"
There was standing a dirty blonde male wearing a green hoodie and a white smiley-mask. I recognized him immediately. He was an admin called Dream, the admin of Dream smp. I didn't really know much about him, but I knew that his server was pretty popular.
He noticed my curious stare and turned around. He gave me a smirk before walking to me.
"Hey, Lead Watcher Dexter, am I right?" He tilted his head sticking his hands to his pockets.
"That's correct and you are Dream," I answered.
"Yep!" He smirked. "I noticed that the players that were passing by took pictures of you without your permission, so I decided to step in," He explained.
"That's very kind of you," I smiled.
"Mind if I stay with you for a while to make sure they don't do that when you're working?" He asked.
"If you have time, I would really appreciate that," I admitted nodding.
"Great!" He exclaimed and squatted down next to me, since I was still sitting on the floor.
"Your server is Dream smp, right?" I ask from him even though I already knew the answer.
"Yep! I assume that you don't have a server on your own since you're a Watcher?" He assumed tilting his head.
"Mmh, I don't have one. I'm also not settled in any server, I like to just help with servers that need help," I explained.
"I see," Dream nodded. "You are the mechanic of The Council, aren't you?" He continued.
"Yep, as you can see I'm right now fixing this teleporting console," I answered showing the console.
"That looks really complicated," He said.
"It definitely is," I admitted grinning.
"HEY! DON'T TAKE PICTURES WITHOUT PERMISSION!" Dream shouted to a small group that had tried to take a picture.
"I always try to ignore when people do that, but it's definitely annoying," I admit as I connect two wires together.
"I can definitely believe that. Some of the players are definitely selfish when they think that they can just take pictures of others just because they're famous!" Dream groaned a he eyebowled a group that kept staring at us.
"That's why some of the people want to become Rookies. They want people to think that they're better than others," I muttered.
"Do you think that I would make an actually good Rookie?" Dream asked. I would have been surprised but I knew that he was already on the list so I had been prepared.
"I think that you could try the trials and have a big chance of passing them," I answered.
"What? Really?" He sounded surprised.
"Yep, I suggest trying out!" I looked at him smiling.
I could see that he was really excited, even though he tried to hide it. He was wearing a mask, but I still could read his face, I was a Watcher after all. The Watchers knew how to read faces behind a mask since we wore masks too all the time.
"Well, I think that I might actually do that," He smirked.
"Mmh, we really need good Rookies," I smiled to him.
'And you would be perfect for our plans!'

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’
