《Road Trip - L.H》9

"How about we go to the beach whilst we're here?"
"We should explore the city more as well" Calum said.
"I saw a sign for a music event" I told them.
"What kind of music?" Luke asked.
"Pop, rock, punk. Everything I think"
"We should go. Melbourne's always had a good music scene" Ash said.
"I'll look it up later. I'm pretty sure it's tomorrow night" We'd just arrived in Melbourne and decided we would stay in here today and tomorrow then head on to Adelaide early the morning after.
"So let's go to our hotel, get cleaned up, then go to the beach and look around the city a bit more" Michael suggested. We all nodded and got back into the two cars. Luke and I got into the one we still occupied alone and followed the other.
"Do you think we'll have to share a bed again?" Luke asked. "Because I won't complain this time"
"And why's that?"
"Because you're not as bad as I thought"
"Awh, thanks, Hemmings" I nudged his arm.
"Stop, I'm driving"
"But seriously, Mia said I'm sharing with her. You're with Cal and Mike and Ash are together I think"
"Sounds good to me"
"To be honest, I just want some space alone"
"Me too. You are all great but it gets a little too much sometimes"
"You get a little too much sometimes"
"Hey!"
"Sorry, still getting used to be whole not insulting you thing"
"It's fine" I said as we pulled into the hotel car park.
**
"Thank you Mia's dad for letting us stay in a four star hotel" Michael said as we walked towards our rooms.
"Meet out here in thirty minutes or we'll kick your doors down" Mia said and all the guys nodded before we disappeared into our rooms. "So, how are things with Luke going?"
"Alright. Why'd you ask?"
"You guys don't seem to argue half as much anymore"

"We're trying to get along"
"Maybe leaving you guys in a car by yourself isn't such a bad idea"
"Shut up" I said as I nudged her.
"I think he secretly likes you"
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me. He likes you"
"Mia, you need to calm your ass down" She rolled her eyes.
"Are you putting your bikini on under your clothes?" She changed the subject. I nodded and pulled out my clothes from my small duffel bag before starting to change. After 15 minutes or so we were both ready. We grabbed our bags and went outside into the hallway to see all the guys waiting for us.
"Let's go" Calum said, throwing his arm around Mia's shoulders.
"It's really pretty here" I said as we were eating lunch in a park near the beach we were going to next. We'd been walking around the city for the last hour and a half.
"Are we having a fire on the beach?"
"I doubt it" Michael replied to Cal.
"We should" Ashton said and Mia nodded in agreement.
"How are we going to do it?"
"She's right, it's kind of unpractical" Luke agreed with me.
"You guys agree on something? That's a first" Ashton commented.
"Don't get too used to it" I told him.
"Hey! I thought we were getting along?"
"We are but there's still a chance that you might annoy me" He rolled his eyes but shrugged and carried on eating.
"You coming in?" I opened my eyes and sat up from my beach towel to see Luke.
"What?"
"No one else wants to come in the water. Wanna join me?"
"Can't be alone?"
"Come on" I nodded and stood up, putting my sunglasses in my bag. I adjusted my bikini before walking next to him down to the shore.
"God, it's fucking cold" I swore as I stepped into the sea.
"Do I have to pull you in?" He asked and moved closer towards me.

"No. Stop. Don't do it, Luke. I will hit you" I said as he picked me up bridal style and carried me further into the water so that it was around his waist. "I hate you right now" I said as he started to put me down.
"Really?" He asked, smirking.
"I'm shorter than you, do not put me down"
"You're like half a foot shorter than me not half my height" He said as he put me down making me squirm at the coldness.
"More like a whole foot. You're six four, I'm five five"
"Awh, little Maddie"
"Shut up" I pushed him away from me.
"You look good in that bikini by the way"
"Thanks"
"I mean really good" He snapped the string of the side of my bikini bottom against my skin.
"Didn't you say I'd put on some weight the other day?"
"I was joking. You look better than ever"
"I know right" I joked making him roll his eyes.
"I also told you that your boobs looked great the other morning"
"Just what every girl wants to hear"
"I know right" He mocked me.
"For some reason those stupid comments don't annoy me anymore" He nodded in agreement.
"Mia looks good too though"
"That's your best friend's girlfriend"
"But that bikini makes her look so hot"
"Such a fuck boy going from one girl to the next in a matter of seconds"
"I am not a fuck boy"
"You are"
"I'm not"
"Prove it"
"How?"
"Get a girlfriend" I told him simply. "Do you even like a girl? Have you ever?"
"I like someone"
"Who? Is it Rachel? Kiera? Tina?"
"None of them"
"Then who?"
"You don't need to know"
"I want to know though"
"Eventually"
"Fine"
"Your natural hair looks really pretty"
"It's a mess"
"You're a mess"
"Again, just what a girl wants to hear"
"Looks like the others are packing up"
"We should get back I guess"
"I was enjoying our alone time"
"Me too"
"Want me to carry you again?"
"I'm fine with the temperature now though"
"Your back's hurting, I can tell" I shyly nodded and let him pick me up. This time he wrapped his arms around my body and I wrapped my legs around his waist. He moved his hands so they were holding my butt to stop him from dropping me. "You're really pretty"
"What's with all the compliments?"
"Just take them" He said.
"Thank you"
"Welcome" He said. Our eye line locked and he glanced down at my lips. "Can I, uh, I, um, kiss you?"
"The Luke Hemmings is nervous about a girl, who'd have thought?"
"Shut up"
"Anyway, yes"
"Really?" I nodded and he slowly leaned in and connected our lips. It was much slower and gentler than the kiss from the other night. After a few seconds we pulled away.
"What about the girl you like?"
"I'm sure she doesn't mind or know that I like her" He quickly pecked my lips again before putting me down. "Now my back hurts"
"Let's go" I said, pulling him out of the sea with me. We got back over to the others.
"We're about to leave" Mia told Luke and I. We nodded and started to get changed and packed up. I pulled my white dress over my body and rolled up my towel, packing it away with everything else.
"Uh, your dress has gone see-through but on the bright side you're winning the wet t-shirt contest"
"Oh" I said looking down at my dress.
"Here, borrow this" He passed me his grey hoodie. I took it from him and pulled it on.
"Thanks" He just shrugged and passed me my bag as we walked towards the others who were waiting in the car park.
"Is that Luke's hoodie?" Mia asked as we got into one of the cars along with Calum. The other three had gotten in the other car.
"Yeah, he's just letting me borrow it because my dress is wet and see-through"
"Told you he likes you"
"He doesn't like me"
"Believe what you want"

Dreams or Another World - Not a Zero (Update 09/19/21)
(Updated 09/19/21) Hello and welcome. If you made it this far and the book title sounds interesting, I'm hoping you'll read a few chapters. Here's a sample from chapter 1 of "Dreams or Another World - Not a Zero."Slowly starting to wake up, I become aware. It's like coming out of a fog.Head hurts.Body hurts. There's a conversation in the room. This isn't my bed. Someone is touching my arm. I crack my eyes to look. She doesn't notice. Is she praying for me? Her hands do feel good…do feel... Slipping back unconscious, my eyes slowly close. I didn't notice the soft green glow under Jenn’s hands.*******************"It does look like he saved them or at least stalled them long enough for us to get there." says the man dressed more like a park ranger than an officer of the law. "I did think he was part of it at first" he continues "but the evidence shows he wasn't there and they were certainly fighting on that back road where we found them""I don't care who he is." says a woman as she enters the room. "He saved and protected my Jenn. I will make sure there's not a mark or a scar on him before he leaves". As she continues the few steps over to the men speaking, even though dressed simply in common clothes, there is no doubt the race of elves is in her heritage. The grace and lines of her form. The elegance and lightness of her step. She glances at her daughter, still watching over the young man in the bed. "Do we know who he is yet?" she asks no one in particular."Not yet dear" a man in a white coat responds. A handsome middle-aged man. Fit, but not that of a fighter or ranger. "I asked Talon to bring another identification stone with him. I was hoping ours was just broke, but it's reading the same.""What do you think is wrong?" Talon asks."I'm thinking we just have to wait until he recovers. I have heard of cases where the stone didn't work. Powerful spells can hide or wipe a person clean. I doubt he's a spy or a criminal. Spells like that are just too high level if, they're used at all. My best guess is, there is just some disconnect with him being unconscious. When he wakes, we can ask him or use the stone again then."I find myself waking up in a hospital bed. The attending Doctor finds it odd that he cannot identify my class. An Officer says I’m a Hero for saving a girl from being kidnapped, but he’s asking too many questions for my liking. I know an accusing tone when I hear it. I don’t remember any of it and I need to find my way home.Author’s notes. Original work. First draft and update of chapters 1-16. Inspired by various fantasy games and books. Written with a focus on character development and interaction. Combat, progression, leveling, classes, but no numbers or stats. I’ll try to keep the language clean, PG-13, no smut. I’m in the US, writing in English. Almost fifty chapters are completed as I pen this introduction. I intend to complete this story or at least bring it to a proper ending. I have a destination in mind. I find as I write, doors and ideas open, while others close and are discarded. The tentative release schedule will be once a week. I'm new to creating. My apologies now while I learn. I have not settled on a book cover or artwork, still looking for something that fits. Registered & Protected #20VjeKDv2U6nynW6

AK - The Alchemy Kingdom
Karl always wanted to be a Mage. He was born in the Serion Kingdom, a fully pledged magic Kingdom. Seems like a perfect match, right? Unfortunately, no. He's just a commoner, working endlessly to maintaining the lifestyle of Mages. On his 15th birthday, his last chance to escape from a miserable life was destroyed when he was deemed to have no magic potential. For thousands of Serion's citizens that would be the end of their dreams. But how could this story be any fun, ending like that? Follow Karl and his friends while they tried to fight against the Kingdom's oppression. Will the system bend them to submission or will they break the chains of destiny? Spoiler alert: After thousands of years, an ancient Magic system will be reborn in the small Caiset village. What should you expect? - Kingdom Building: For sure! The heavy lifting will come later, I promise! Foundation is important, please be patient; - Epic battles: A Kingdom is not built without war and conflict. Who doesn't like good fights? Let's bring some excitement to this novel!; - Multiple leading characters: Karl convinced them to get on the bus, but this is a very long trip and everyone will need to drive a little; - Scientific Magic System: Especially Alchemy! I'm in no way trying to take the fantasy out of Magic. I just feel like trying to do something more logical. I'll probably stumble on a fine line, but I’m counting on you to keep me on track!; - World Building: I’m using some basic concepts from traditional Fantasy Worlds and trying to add some nice touches to make it unique; - Fun?: I'll try to insert some humor into the story, but that’s an experience we will go through together. Other points I find important: Alchemy is mostly crafting magic tools, but it will go a little further down the road. Even if you don't like crafting, weapon enhancing and whatnot, don’t give up on the novel. You might be surprised about Alchemy's reach later. Also, other types of Magic will play an important role here, just not the leading role. ......... Check out my two spin-off novels, Merchant Queen and Harbinger of Death! Both are independent novels, but with the same world setting... Maybe some crossover later... Either way, you can check them to get additional information on worldbuilding and hidden plots... Please leave a comment! If you want to help me more, support me on Patreon. I'm always trying to come up with new ways for you to participate in this journey. New Chapters on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday!
