"When are you coming to visit next?"

"In a couple of weeks"

"Really? Because I just walked past a girl that looks a lot like you"

"I must have a long lost twin"

"Maddie, get up here"

"Luke, it's a 10 hour drive"

"And currently a two minute walk up to my dorm"

"You're a dickhead"

"Get up here. I haven't seen you in three months"

"Be patient, bitch" I said before hanging up. I'd got a flight up to Brisbane to surprise Luke but I guess he's too observant. I walked into Luke's building and got into the lift. He was on the sixth floor. I eventually got to his door and before knocking, the door flung open.

"I missed you" He hugged me straight away.

"I missed you too" We went into this flat. He shared with three other people.

"Hey, Mads! Luke didn't tell us you were coming" One of his flatmates, Tom, greeted.

"Luke didn't know"

"Why are you here then? Apart from seeing me" Luke questioned as we sat in the living area.

"Needed a break from work so I thought I'd come see you"

"What's happening with you two anyway? I thought you guys broke up" Kira, Luke's other flatmate said.

"Yeah, we're just friends"

"For now" Luke added. It turned out having a long distance relationship was hard work so we decided to break up and remain close friends. Neither of us have dated anyone else since and I'm pretty sure we both still have feelings for each other.

"I hope you guys get back together, you were such a cute couple at the start of the year"

"Want to go do something?" Luke asked. I nodded.

"Let me dump my stuff in your room" I went into his room and put my bag down on his bed.

"Let's go" He said and we walked out of the apartment. "Shall we get some food?"

"I'm starving"

"How's everyone back home?" Luke asked as he took a bite from his burger.

"Good. Calum and Mia are going strong. Ash and Michael are doing good too"

"How's your mum?"

"She's good. She misses you"

"Awh"

"Your parents miss you too. I went over their's for dinner the other day. Jack and Celeste were there"

"Did they tell you they're engaged?"

"What? No"

"Oh, well they are. Celeste said you're invited to the wedding"

"Better find a date then"

"Excuse me? What am I?"

"My best friend, practically my brother"

"We've had sex, I am not your brother"

"Good point. Best friend stands"

"What about boyfriend?"

"We broke up for a reason, Lu"

"Doesn't mean I don't still love you"

"I hate everything going on with us. I just want to be with you"

"I wish you could come live here"

"Maybe I could"

"I got offered an actual job because my internship is going so well"

"Seriously?" I nodded "Mads, that's amazing. I'm so proud of you"

"Thank you. Anyway, that's part of the reason I came to visit. They said I can either take the job in Brisbane or Sydney"

"But you want to be in Sydney"

"They said if I decided to move back I could just transfer to Sydney and I'd still have my job"

"Are you thinking about taking it?"

"I'm definitely taking it. I'm just debating where to do it"

"I'm too biased to help you"

"Mum said to move here. I agree"

"Really?" His face lit up.

"Yeah but-"

"There's a but. Fuck"

"It's a compromise. I'm going to start the job in Sydney for the next few months and then when you move out of university housing in the summer and into your own flat, I'll move in with you"

"I'm OK with that"

"Good"

"God, I'm so happy"

"Me too. It's been so hard not to just call and tell you. My mum suggested I come here and tell you"

"Your mum's the best" I just smiled. Let's find a flat just for us. It'll be our first home together"

"What about your current flat mates? Don't you want to move in with them too?"

"I'd rather just have you"

"I love you"
