《The Lost Girl (once upon a time Peter Pan fanfic)》17 - Tragedy

I looked over at the group, assuming they would be the last people I'd ever see in my life. Emma and Regina were both holding Henry protectively, Hook refused to look at me, and David was holding Snow's arm. They all looked guilty - all but one.
In a flash, Snow pulled out her bow and shot towards Peter, and before I knew it, I'd been dropped to the ground. I scrabbled to get on my feet and ran towards the group, then I turned around to see Peter holding the arrow, barely an inch from his chest.
He was grinning that smug grin he always did when he knew he'd won, but oddly enough, so was Snow.
"What's so funny?" I whispered to Snow, looking warily at Peter, who had now seemed to notice that something was wrong too.
"Just watch" she replied, not taking her eyes off Peter.
He was still in the same position, holding the arrow to his chest, but his facial expression had changed. He now looked concerned. Then, he laughed again.
"Well played. You got me. Take them and go... but you've been warned I'll get Henry's heart whether you like it or not." he spat at us.
It turns out the arrow Snow shot was enchanted, so anyone who touched it would be temporarily frozen, meaning we could go. We were free. But why did I feel so awful?
Peter was evil, a monster. He kidnapped young boys and wanted to kill an innocent child so he could be immortal. But I loved him so.
"Come on, I don't know how long that will last, we'd best head back to the Jolly Rodger," said Hook, turning away. I suddenly remembered my promise to the lost boys.
"Wait. We can't just leave the lost boys here. We have to take them with us." I said.

With a heavy sign, Hook agreed and led us away.
"I meant what I said," we heard Peter say from behind us. We all stopped in our tracks. "Henry isn't safe so long as I'm alive. Or are you forgetting that I control who enters and leaves Neverland?"
Regina spun around and charged at Peter, plunging her hand into his chest.
"No!" I shouted. No matter how evil he was, I couldn't let her kill him.
Peter just laughed. "You can't kill me that easily. And to think I thought you were smart," he said to Regina.
"No, but this will," said Hook, making everyone turn to face him. He walked steadily up to Peter, holding his sword out in front of him.
"If magic can't kill me, what makes you think a sword will?" asked Peter, smug as ever.
"Pan... don't you recognise your own sword?" Hook said, imitating Peter's smug tone of voice.
Fear struck Peter's face, but I didn't understand. Was there something so special about his own sword? Then it hit me. The voice echoed in my head of the clear warnings I'd been given. They lace all of their weapons with dreamshade, especially Pan's sword.
"No! Please don't" I yelled, lunging towards him.
But I was too late. Hook plunged his sword into Peter's stomach, and the agony spread across his face. "This is the end" Hook whispered to Peter, before walking back towards us.
I sprinted towards Peter, and crouched down next to his body. Tears began to spill from my eyes.
"Peter please, please stay awake. I'll stay with you, I always knew I would, deep down. Oh please don't die Peter. I need you. I love you" I cried
Peter looked up and me "Anna... I... Go...." he just managed to say

"No," I said, attempting to sound strong, "I'm not leaving you here. I'm staying,"
Peter's eyes closed, and each breath he took became weaker and weaker. It couldn't end like this. It couldn't. In a world of magical lands and enchanted maps and curses, there had to be a way to keep him from dying.
True loves kiss! That's it! I leaned over him, and pulled his head up towards mine, and kissed him. It was gentle, but meaningful.
Pulling my face from his, I searched for any sign of life. None. His eyes remained closed.
I screamed. I punched the ground and started pulling hard at my hair. Then I stood up and charged at Hook. Anger filled my every limb as I punched him hard. And then again. I kept hitting him, and somehow managed to get him on the ground where I continued to punch him hard in the face.
"YOU KILLED HIM! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!" I screamed.
The rest of the group ran to pull me away from him, as Emma helped him to his feet. They had to restrain me while tears of grief and anger poured down my cheeks.
And then I felt a sharp sting in my arm. Looking down, I saw David poking me with an arrow. I suddenly began to feel drowsy, and my legs could no longer support my weight.
I fell to the ground. Darkness.
