Sorry it took so long to update. I had exams and I went to a music festival but thankfully school is finally over!
Audrey had just stepped out of Damon's car when her phone began to ring. She answered it quickly. "Hello?"
"Audrey? I-something's wrong. I-I puked up Damon's blood," Elena stuttered out with fear. Audrey looked at Damon who's eyes had widened. "It's all over my dress. I don't know what to do,"
"Okay Elena, just relax. Damon's with me right now and he's going to run home and grab you a new dress okay? I'll meet you wherever you are," Audrey cooed soothingly. She nodded at Damon who immediately sped off. "Where are you?"
"In the basement bathroom," Elena answered.
"Okay, I'll be there in a second," Audrey said running towards the church. She hung up her phone and went straight to the bathroom in the basement. "Elena?"
"Audrey?" She asked opening the door. Audrey quickly stepped inside and shut the door behind her, locking it. Blood was smeared all over the front of Elena's dress and there was some dripping down her neck. Audrey grabbed some paper towels and wet them before trying to clean her sister off. "I don't know what's wrong with me,"
"Me either," Audrey mumbled while wiping off the blood from her neck. "We'll figure it out though," Elena nodded. Suddenly her phone went off.
"Damon?" She answered.
"I'm here, where are you?" He asked while practically jogging into the church.
"I'm in the basement bathroom," Elena replied just as the doorknob began to rattle. "Is that you at the door?"
"Not yet," Damon answered. Elena's eyes widen. There's a knock and Audrey glances at the door before looking at her sister.
"Sorry, there's someone in here!" Elena shouts at the door. "Damon hurry!" Once she hung up the phone, her and Audrey began to clean the blood from the bathroom. They finish just as Damon arrives. Elena hears him outside and opens to door, quickly grabbing the dress. Audrey peaks her head out and sees the guy from the bar. "Sorry I-I spilt coffee all over my dress," She says to the man.
"Come on Elena. I'll help you get dressed and cleaned up," Audrey says before pulling Elena in and shutting the bathroom door. Elena speeds out of her ruined dress and slips on the new one.
"Everything alright in there?" Damon asks from outside the door.
"Yeah, just a minute!" Elena said. Together her and Audrey shove the bloody paper towels into the bag to hide the evidence. After the bathroom is completely clean, they walk out together. "I'm so sorry that took so long," Elena apologized.
"No problem," The man said casually.
"Well enjoy your stay. We love visitors and the scenery is to die for," Damon said before fake gasping. "Funeral pun. Too soon. Sorry," He wraps his arms around the two girls and leads them upstairs. The trio walks out of the church and towards the back.
"Did you bring the blood bag?" Elena asked desperately.
"Would you mind saying that a little louder?" Damon answered sarcastically. He pulls Elena behind a tree and hands the bag. "Here," She takes it and rips it open and begins to drink but starts to feel sick again. She throws up the blood again and begins to tear up.
"No, I can't. It taste like...what's wrong with me?" She gasped with panic. Damon gently wipes the blood from her chin and sighs.

"I don't know, maybe it's your doppelgänger blood. You're rejecting the transition," Damon explained.
"I'm dying aren't I?" Elena sniffled.
"No, you're not dying. You just need to drink from the vein," Damon said softly.
"Damon-," Audrey began but Elena cut her off.
"No. No, I don't-I can't risk killing anyone, Damon. Maybe I'm better off dead," Elena cried shaking her head. Damon grabs her shoulders and forced her to look at him.
"Don't you think like that. Elena, you'll be fine. Okay?" He reassured. Elena blinks a few times and stares at him. It's almost as if she's in a trance. Audrey awkwardly stands by the couple and shuffles on her feet. When the church bells start to ring Elena's pulled out of her trance.
"I have to go back inside," She said before heading back for the church. Audrey followed behind closely. When they got inside they found Matt and Jeremy and sat beside them.
"You okay?" Matt asked her. Elena nodded and looked down.
"Hey, April was looking for you. She wanted help with her speech," Jeremy said to his sister. Elena looked up and searched around the church.
"Where is she?" She asked.
"I don't know," Jeremy shrugged. He looked at Audrey and slung an arm around her shoulder. "I hate funerals,"
"Me too, little brother," She sighed, leaning her head on his shoulder. Jeremy kissed the top of her head and nestled his head against hers. Carol Lockwood made her way to the podium in front of the church and cleared her throat.
"Before we begin the Mass, we'd like to open the floor to anyone who would like to share a memory about our late friends on the Town Council. I know that April Young wanted to say a few words about her dad," Carol said looking around the church. "April?" Everyone began to look around now. "April, are you still here, honey?" There were quiet mumbles spreading through the church now as April was nowhere in sight. "Is there anyone else who would like to share a recollection or a memory about Pastor Young?" At first no one moved. Everyone looked around, waiting for someone to get up. Finally, Elena stands up. "Come on up, Elena," Elena shakily makes her way to the podium. Audrey looked at Jeremy who shared her worried expression.
"I uh-when I talked to April earlier she was kind of nervous about coming up to speak. And now that I'm up here, I'm kind of nervous too," Elena started off. She gripped the side of the podium weakly. "The worst day of loving someone is the day you lose them," She stopped suddenly when she smells blood. Caroline, who had been sitting towards the back with Tyler, looks at him worriedly.
"Do you smell that?" She asked.
"Blood," Tyler replied.
Elena began to breath heavily. "I um...," Her face suddenly grew hot and she could feel veins begin to form under her eyes. Stefan acted quickly and walked up to her. He wrapped his arms around her and buried her face in his neck.
"It's okay, it's okay. I got you," He cooed leading her back to her seat. The priest walked up to the podium and began the Mass.
"Please turn to page forty two in your hymn book. Let us join together in a song," He said taking the attention off Elena. Once Stefan and Elena got back to their seat she leaned on him for support.

"The blood, Stefan. I can smell it. There's so much," Elena gasped, still breathing hard.
"It's alright, just remember what we talked about. Focus, push back, come on you can do this," Stefan encouraged but it didn't help.
"What's wrong with her?" Matt questioned.
"She's hungry. She hasn't fed," Stefan explained.
"So, get her out of here," Matt said cocking an eyebrow.
"I can't, someone's watching us," Stefan said back.
"I'm gonna rip his head off now," Damon growled from behind them.
"Do that, Damon and you risk exposing you all," Audrey said with an eye roll.
"She's right, Damon," Stefan agreed.
"Well, I think the risk will be slightly diminished when I, you know, rip his head off," Damon snapped back.
"Stefan, I'm losing it," Elena muttered tiredly.
"You have ten seconds before I go old fashioned on the new guy," Damon said to his brother.
"Don't do it, Damon," Stefan tried to reason.
"3, 2, 1. Bye," He went to stand up, but Audrey stopped him.
"Wait, wait, wait. Elena, feed from me," Audrey said quickly. Damon looked at his friend like she was crazy.
"Hell no," Damon said.
"Then have her feed from me," Matt chipped in. Everyone looked at him. "It's okay. Everyone will think you're upset. Just feed from me," Matt said again. Elena glanced at Stefan to see if he agreed. He was hesitant but nodded. Elena moved away from Stefan's arms and leaned into Matt. "It's okay, you'll be okay. Elena moved her face into Matt's neck and began to feed from him. Anyone else would've thought she was crying. When she was done she moved away from him.
"Thank you," She whispered. Matt nodded and hid his wound. "That blood. I can still smell it. It's got to be April. We have to help her," She tried to stand up but Stefan pulls her back.
"Elena we can't risk it," He said.
"Stefan we have to do something," Audrey said agreeing with her sister.
"It's too dangerous," Stefan argued. While they were bickering they didn't notice Tyler walking up to the podium until he began to speak.
"Excuse me, I just wanted to say a few words about Pastor Young," He said causing everyone to stop singing. "Back in first grade, I was a brat who couldn't be bothered with team sports. Didn't care much about anything that didn't affect me. But he was the one who made me understand how important it is to be part of a team; a community. Of giving yourself up for the sake of-," A shot rang through the church as Tyler fell to the ground. People began to scream and hide under their pews. Elena, Caroline, and Carol all ran to help aid Tyler. Jeremy and Matt grabbed Audrey and safely got her out of the church while Damon went to take care of the hunter.
"What about Elena?" Audrey asked Jeremy.
"Stefan will take care of her," Jeremy answered as he led his sister to his car. They all got in and sped to Mystic Grill. Audrey could still feel her heart pounding from the events that had just taken place and all she wanted to do was be with Klaus. Once they got inside the Grill they ordered food and sat at the bar. Audrey sat quietly while Matt and Jeremy talked. "Are you okay, Aud?"
"Hmm? Oh yeah, I'm just a little shaken up," She answered taking a sip from her drink.
"I know, me too," Jeremy said rubbing her back soothingly.
"How do you think they'll cover this up?" Matt asked the two.
"An assassination attempt on the Mayor's son," Jeremy answered with a sarcastic chuckle.
"Alter boy goes postal," Matt chuckled. After they had finished their food a man walked up and sat beside them. Audrey looked over to see it was the man from the church. The hunter.
"Hey," The man said to Matt. "What happened here?" He asked gesturing to Matt's neck.
"Oh, girlfriend went a little overboard," He lied standing up.
"Nice ink," Jeremy complimented, motioning towards the man's arm. Audrey cocked an eyebrow at her brother as they walked away.
"What ink, Jer?" She asked.
"You didn't see the tattoo on his arm? It was huge," Jeremy replied.
"He didn't have a tattoo," Matt said.
"Yeah he did," Jeremy said with confusion. Matt and Audrey shared a look before dropping the subject.

Audrey was watching Netflix when her phone went off. She glanced at it and immediately smiled. Klaus had sent her a text message. "What are you up to, love? Probably thinking about me, right?" Audrey rolled her eyes but kept smiling.
"No, actually, I was thinking about how hot Sebastian Stan is. Man I'd love to bang him," The moment she sent the text she knew it would get a rise of out him. She started laughing when her phone rang with an incoming call from her soulmate. "Hello?"
"Your humor does not amuse me, darling," He growled into the phone sending a shivers down Audrey's spine.
"I'm sorry," She laughed. "I knew it would get you all worked up,"
"I should punish you for that," Audrey could tell that he was smirking just by the way he talked.
"I mean I wouldn't blame you," She smirked. "I've been an awfully naughty girl," She covered her mouth to hide her laughter.
"Jesus, you love torturing me, don't you?" Klaus groaned with frustration.
"Oh I so do," She giggled. "You deserve it though! Leaving me here all by myself,"
"Awe, do you miss me, love?" Klaus said.
"Of course I do! I'd miss you even if you weren't gone," She smiled. "When do you plan on coming home?"
"Soon," He replied. "I promise I'll make it up to you once I return,"
"What did you have in mind?" She could feel her body begin to flush at all the possibilities. She could just imagine Klaus's touch all over her.
"It's a surprise, but don't worry love. You'll be seeing stars," Klaus flirted. Audrey groaned and leaned back into the couch. "I have to go now, but I'll be home as soon as possible,"
"Alright, be safe. I love you," Audrey hummed before hanging up. She knew he still wasn't ready to admit his feelings and that was okay. She knew he loved her, even if he didn't say it.
"Aud," Jeremy said as he stepped into the living room. "Come on, Stefan wants us at the school,"
"Why?" Audrey asked. Jeremy shrugged and grabbed a jacket. Audrey did the same and followed him out to his car. Once they reached the school they saw Elena, Caroline, Stefan, and Matt all sitting at one of the picnic tables. "What's up guys?"
"We're going to finish the memorial we planned," Stefan replied. Audrey was about to say something when Damon and Bonnie approaching stopped her.
"What's going on, Stefan?" Damon asked as he walked over to the group.
"We're finishing the memorial we had planned," Stefan explained as he began to hand out lanterns. "We need to start healing, Damon. We've all lost so much, especially recently. I think we're numb to it. We push it away, we make a joke out of it, ignore how we feel. We've never just let ourselves grieve,"
"So you're lighting lanterns?" Damon scoffed.
"Yeah. Yeah, we need to do this," Stefan said.
"What we need to do is find out who this hunter is and what he knows about the death of the Council. We have more important things to be doing right now than this," Damon argued stubbornly.
"Not tonight, we don't," Stefan replied. He took the lighter from his pocket and lit his lantern. "This is for my uncle Zach and my friend Lexi and for Alaric," He handed his lighter to Matt.
"This is for Vicki," Matt said before lighting his lantern and handing the lighter to Caroline.
"This is for my dad, and Tyler's," She said as she lit hers. Jeremy walks over and grabs the lighter from Caroline.
"This is for our parents," He said to Audrey and Elena. "For Vicki, Anna, Jenna, and Alaric," He lights his lantern and passes the lighter to Audrey.
"This is for our parents. Jenna, John, Alaric, and everyone you all have lost," She said as she lights her lantern. She looks at Damon and hold the lighter out for him but he rolls his eyes.
"No way, I'm not doing this," He scoffed before walking away. Audrey sighs and hands the lighter to Bonnie.
"This is for my Grams," She smiled as she lights her lantern. Elena stands up and grabs the lighter from Bonnie.
"This is um- for my mom, my dad, Jenna, everyone that you all have lost, everyone this whole town has lost and for me. I guess." She said as she lights her lantern too. One by one each of them let go of their lanterns and watch them float into the air. Caroline wraps an arm around Audrey and leans her head on her shoulder. Stefan brings Elena to his side, while Matt, Jeremy and Bonnie and huddle together. They watch as they let go of their past and finally move on.
