(Y/n)'s POV
Working as Mr Osaka's secretary was tough but I needed the money. People might say that I was just a gold digger but I didn't care. My grandma was in hospital, sick to the bone and I was the only one capable of earning money for the bills.
Mr Osaka had sent me to collect some important files from another building but one had to travel a considerable distance to get there.
I hurriedly climbed into my car and drove off. My job was to get there and back within one and a half hours. It was possible if there were no unexpected obstacles in the way of my journey.
As soon as I reached the building, I parked my car and went inside. The receptionist gestured towards the elevator on the right, where a security guard was waiting for me.
We headed to the top floor and soon, I was taken to a spacious office. The guard left as soon as he made sure I had gotten in. The chairman was standing by the large windows.
"You must be Miss (L/n)," he exclaimed.
"Yes, I've come to collect the documents."
"I have them right here."
He went back to his desk and got a stack of papers. I reached out to take it but he pulled them back from my outstretched hands and teared them in half.
"S-sir..."
"You think I really would hand these documents over to him?"
"But you agreed-"
"I am cancelling that contract. I've changed my mind."
"You can't! I'm terribly sorry but you simply can't. We absolutely need those-"
"Get out of my company. You filthy rats have no right to be here."
He pushed past me and left the room. I held onto the desk's edge, trying to keep myself from panicking. What was I supposed to do now?! Why now of all times?!
A hopeless idea popped into my head. I quickly headed over to his laptop and looked for the correct file. It had to be in here somewhere.

Once found, I hit the print button and waited. A security guard walked past and noticed me still inside. I immediately collected the printing and attempted to walk out like a civilised person.
"Oi you! What are you doing?!" he yelled.
This time, I was making a run for it. I headed towards the stairs and ran all the way to my car. The three security guards stopped chasing me as soon as I had driven off to the main road.
~When you arrive~
"You're late!" yelled Mr Osaka.
"I-I'm terribly sorry. There were some problems-"
"Problems my ass! Do you understand how angry the chairmen and CEOs were getting?! They were going to leave!"
"I'm sorry, sir-"
"Stay in here and reflect on your grave mistakes."
"N-no, sir! I have to go see my grandma-"
"Well, you only have yourself to blame."
He locked me in an empty conference room. I banged against the door but no one came to help. Despite my few chances of success, I yelled out for someone to open the door.
*sigh* My grandma'd be worried about me. I was her only family. She relied on me just as much as I relied on her.
I should try picking the lock. A vibrating feeling in my pocket stopped me from enacting my reckless idea.
"Hello, (L/n) (Y/n) speaking."
"Hi, this is Misaki's doctor calling."
"Did something happen to my grandma?!"
"I'm afraid to inform you that she may not pull through this heart attack."
"You're...not serious...right?"
"I'm sorry. You should probably come at your earliest convenience."
"...I see, okay. Goodbye."
I slid down to my knees, unable to keep my legs from collapsing. Tears slid down my cheeks despite the fact that I was trying to hold them back.
I tried calling him back but my phone was out of charge. This time, I was sobbing like a crybaby. She couldn't leave me now. I never got to say goodbye...I didn't get to tell her how grateful I was to have her...

Sogo's POV
~The next day~
I unlocked the door to the conference room, where I was told to wait for my dad. Once inside, I saw a girl inside by the corner...and she was fast asleep.
She quickly sat up and bumped her head against the table before letting out a yell in pain. I cautiously walked towards her, making her look up and stare at me with wide, red eyes.
"What are you doing in here?"
"Y-you're Osaka Sogo! I-I'm sorry but I really need to go. Your father locked me in here and-"
"What? My father did what?"
"He locked me in here because I was late in bringing some important documents, but I really need to go my grandma. I was trying to get help all night long but nobody came."
"What happened to your grandma?"
"I think...she might've passed away..."
I clenched my fists in anger. What was father thinking?! He locked a girl in here because she was late?! And what was even worse was that she had family that she urgently needed to go to!
At that very moment, my dad strode in with an aura similar to that of someone with immense power and too much arrogance. The girl immediately bowed her head while I couldn't do anything except glare at him.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
"That's not important right now. Why would you lock her up?"
"As punishment of course. Someone like you would never understand."
"Of course I can never understand. She had family to get to!"
"So what? You'll soon know that family is not important."
"Maybe because you're not human. If I find out you're doing this again, I'll make sure you get your so-called punishment."
"And you really think you can do that?"
"I will, even if you don't believe me. Come on, let's go."
I grabbed the girl's hand and pushed past my dad, afraid that I'd lash out if I stayed here any longer. The girl followed me without a word and kept her gaze on the ground.
"Where's your grandma's hospital?"
"It's (hospital name)," she replied quietly.
"What's your name?"
"...(L/n)...(Y/n)..."
"I'm sure she'll be okay."
"I hope so..."
~At the hospital~
(Y/n) ran inside her grandma's room and rushed to her side. The doctor had said that she had pulled through...it was a miracle. Tears threatened to fall as she smiled at her grandma.
"(Y/n)-chan, you're here," her grandma exclaimed.
"Yeah, I'm here."
"Why are you crying, little girl? I'm alright."
"Gran...don't do that again..."
"*smiles* I won't leave you all by yourself."
"I'm sorry."
"For what, my dear? I know very well how you feel. Who's that young man by the door? Do tell him to come inside."
"He's um...my boss's son?" she replied, unsure of how to introduce me.
"Hi ma'am. I'm her friend, Osaka Sogo."
"Nice to meet you, Sogo-kun. I'll be fine here, (Y/n)-chan. Go spend some time with your friend."
She stood up after saying goodbye and led me outside to the garden. A few patients were out here having a walk so it was quite peaceful. I followed her as we sat down by a bench under a cherry blossom tree.
"I'm sorry for dragging you all the way here," (Y/n) apologised.
"It's fine."
"Do you want a drink or anything?"
"I'm fine, thanks for offering though."
"Sorry about before...when you fought with your dad..."
"We never had a good relationship so it's fine."
"I...want a dad, even if we fight..."
"Did...something happen?"
"My parents passed away in an accident when I was three."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"I've gotten over it."
"...hey, why don't you come visit me sometime?"
"Visit you?"
"Yeah, I'm busy most of the time but it'll be nice to have a friend to hang out with. I mean, Tamaki's a good friend but he can be a handful."
"*giggles* Sure."
I smiled at her. Damn, her laugh was adorable. This isn't like me at all...why was I reacting this way?...
