Anime: Attack on Titan
Requested by: @Bratzgirl23
(Y/n)'s POV
The fast pounding of my heart, the slow trickle of sweat down my back...the increasing fear rising with every breath I make. Hidden in an abandoned house with my parents' corpses lying outside.
I was alone and in a very dangerous place. Titans roamed the plains yet I had the wretched fate of living among them. With my parents as professional killers, we had a relatively...safe environment.
They rarely came here so their horde running through this area was an unusual event. Praying for a miracle, I stayed silent in this dire situation.
The house shook violently as a titan lifted the roof off. I held in a scream and tried to slowly move away. Its eyes followed my every move before its hand reached in to grab me.
This time, I made a run for the door but the titan was faster than I was. Its grip around my waist was painfully tight. The crazed look on its face made it even worse.
I grabbed the knife hidden in my shirt and stabbed its hand but it showed no signs of letting me go. Damn it! I did not and could not die now. I had to survive!
The exasperation and fear eating at my mind was overwhelming. I was weak and pathetic, nothing compared to this titan and yet, I was still trying to live. Was I wrong in doing so?
Suddenly, something hit the titan in the nape of its neck. I was released from its hold but the ground was nearing my body. Not to die by the hands of a titan but by a tragic fall...tch.
I shut my eyes, expecting the fall to break every one of my bones but that didn't happen at all. I opened my eyes to notice that a boy had caught me while riding a horse.

"You okay?" he asked.
"Y-yeah, thank you."
"Don't worry, you'll be safe soon."
"What are you doing here? Nobody comes out here..."
"It's our job to kill titans."
~Some time later~
I held the stale piece of bread in my hands, having already lost my appetite from before. The man known as Levi would not stop questioning me about my living conditions, and I hated it.
"Oi, why were you living in a titan-infested area?" he asked.
"I don't know. Go ask my dead parents."
"Listen, nobody would willingly live with titans and what? You're saying you did? Not just as a temporary survival precaution but for the duration of your whole life?"
"Is there a problem with that?"
"*sigh* Tch, whatever. I'll be back tomorrow."
He locked the door, leaving me alone in this cramped room. I sat down on the bed. What was the point of staying here? Wouldn't it have been better to die if I was to be treated like a prisoner here?
There was a knock on the door, making me tense and stare at the boy who had come in. He was the one from before, the one who had caught me. I looked at him as he sat down in the chair.
"You're not eating that?" he asked.
"Is that what you came here to ask?"
"N-no. I'm Eren by the way."
"(Y/n)."
"Want to go outside?"
"I thought I was your prisoner."
"Well, only Levi and the others think that. I don't think you're a threat."
"So what? I seem like a weakling? I may not know how to kill titans but I sure can give you a beating."
"Funny. Is that how you're supposed to be treating someone who saved your life?"

"I already thanked you."
"Who's in there?!"
We looked at the door. Eren quickly made a run for the closet as the guard came in to check on me. He raised an eyebrow at me, expecting some kind of answer to the idiotic question he had asked before entry.
"I'm alone."
"I heard voices," he replied.
"Well, you must've heard wrong."
He left after casting me a glance heavy with suspicion. The door was once again locked. They must be morons to think that I couldn't climb out the window.
"He's gone."
"Thanks. Anyway, what I came in here to say is let's go," Eren exclaimed as he opened the window and crouched on the edge.
"Where to exactly?"
"To the market."
I walked over as he held out his hand. I hesitantly took it and climbed onto the rooftop of the next building. He tugged at my hand, making me walk along the stone tiles.
This wasn't safe, yet this was probably the safest it could get. I tightened my grip on his hand, afraid to fall to my death. How the hell did one walk and run on rooftops as slippery as this?!
"Hey, can't you walk a little faster?" he asked, a little annoyed that I was so slow.
"Well, sorry. I wasn't trained to be soldier like you."
"*sigh* Come on then."
He dragged me towards the edge and jumped. I let out a scream as the rush of air hit my body like dropping an egg on the ground. To my surprise, we landed on a soft pile of hay that seemed to cover the animal dung hidden beneath.
"Gross."
"I'm pretty sure this isn't the worst you've faced," said Eren.
"True but still."
~At the market~
This was...different. So many people, so much food. Although titans threatened our very existence, these humans were carrying out their daily lives as if nothing bothered them.
I wasn't used to it. My grip on Eren's sleeve tightened as the crowds of people grew bigger. I wonder if mum and dad experienced a life like this before going out there...
"Hey young miss, why don't you buy some fruit?" asked a round man.
"I'm sorry, I don't have any money."
"Come on, just try some."
I looked at Eren, who simply gave me a small nod. With slight hesitation, I took the apple from the man and bit into it. My eyes widened, surprised at the flavour of this simple fruit. It was unlike anything I had ever tried before.
Eren handed the man some money in exchange for a bag of apples. He gave it to me, which I gratefully took. We headed to a secluded neighbourhood before taking a seat.
"You know, those apples aren't the best we have," he exclaimed.
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah. Plus, you need to pay me back because they were pretty expensive."
"Well, it's not like I asked you to buy them."
"...what's your surname?"
"(L/n), why?"
"No reason. I just had a friend with that same name."
"Where is that friend?"
"Dead."
"O-oh, I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it. It was a really long time ago."
"...is that why you took me out? Because I reminded you of your friend?"
"...yeah..."
"Whatever, not like I care."
"You don't?"
"You're the first friend I've made."
"And you don't seem like a bad person."
"...I'll take that as a compliment if it's coming from you."
"H-hey!"

The Silver Mana - Book 1: Initiate
I used to be a healthy, young guy with a normal life - I had a career planned in professional soccer, a girlfriend, lots of hobbies, and loads of fun. Until the accident. Which changed my life. A few years later I had adjusted to my new reality, adjusted to being in a wheelchair, adjusted to having someone take care of me 24/7. And then the world changed. Old people and kids did not make it. And neither was I supposed to make it. But never count me out. If anything, I am tenacious. This new world was different. People could do magic. And there were monsters. And what about me? I had mana as well, silver mana. Which no one else seemed to have. The only problem was, I did not know what to do with it. Until I really needed to. Author's note: This is the rewrite of Silver Mana. The first bunch of chapters (until I will have caught up to level 2 of the dungeon) should be quite familiar to people that have read the original. There are some changes in content, but the story follows the original fairly closely for at least the first 150-200 pages. Most of the changes are in the writing, and some of the details of how things work. A few of the side characters get a bit more attention too. Some general comments to avoid disappointment: 1. The MC likes to swear. If you object to reading the word "fuck" at least once and usually multiple times each chapter don't read the book. "Fuck" is such a great, allencompassing word... fuck that; what the fuck?; fuck me! Fuck! one word, expressing so many nuances. And, frankly, the people I know that use fuck as a swear word.. they often use it a lot. 2. If you are looking for immediate progression, rapid advancement of the story, etc.... read another book. This one takes a bit. 3. I am NOT Pirateaba (who is writing The Wandering Inn) or anyone close to that level of productivity. If you expect to read 10k words every 3 days, or even just once a week... sorry. I've got a busy life. This is for fun, I have no patreon, paypal, anything, so I write when it is fun and however much is fun. Not more. And sometimes that turns out to be a decent amount, sometimes nothing. I have another book (Marrow) so that complicated things - basically I switch between the two whenever the muse strikes me.

Mana System - Hello, World! [Complete]
What would you do if your world collapsed and you had less than an hour to choose a suitable role that would allow you to survive? Would you give in to despair? Paul choose to fight for survival, now he has to face off against predatory animals, monsters, and even the land itself all modified by the Mana System. Eventually, he will have to face off against a foe even deadlier than the rest. Humans! I feel I need to add this disclaimer because some people really get their panties in a twist when they reach the second arc. This is not a grimdark story. Yes, there are portions that are dark and grim, including slavery which is why I have the traumatizing content box checked. If you can't stomach a little slavery and torture, probably best to find a different story to read. Complaining that you felt lied to isn't going to make me change my story. If this offends you, leave a review.

Prey No More
Imagine being given a second chance at life. Not only that but with a life you chose (sort of). This is exactly the situation that our character is in. He was once a Biology Graduate Student involved in a special program in Alaska studying Polar Bears. In an ironic twist of fate his life is ended by exactly that which he was trying to study. Now, in a new world, he refuses to be anything but the top of the food chain. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a story I began writing a year and a half ago and decided to shelf, I'm coming back to it now because I miss writing; however, I have not carved out any time specifically for this and, as of now, it will be something I do on the side for fun. Currently I have 9 chapters plus a prologue written; I'm going to be going through and editting it to be in a present tense (from past), as well as changing some of the story and grammar. Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading.
