(Y/n)'s POV
"Oi Bard, if you don't give that back to me, you're dead meat."
"Come on, just let me have a look at it, will you?"
"That rifle is mine."
Flipping the man onto his stomach, I twisted his arm behind his back, making him release his hold on my property. Strapping it back to the harness on my back, I let the cook go.
"Damn, you can really fight," he exclaimed while rubbing his wrists.
"Of course, I wouldn't be my dad's daughter if I couldn't."
"I guess you really do come from another world but is it true that you have feelings for Sebastian?"
"You must either be extremely stupid or are just too eager to die."
"N-no ma'am, forget that I asked!"
Heading back into the manor, I swiftly pulled out my pistol and held it to the butler's head as he placed a hand on my shoulder. He did not seem at all fazed by the weapon...the both of us knew that such a measly thing could not harm him.
Sebastian simply moved the handgun to the side before pulling on my arm to make me stand closer to him. Raising an eyebrow, I opened my mouth to question his action only to be met by surprise as he caught me in a sweet kiss.
Grabbing both of my hands, he prevented me from stopping him in his questionable act. My heart pounded ferociously in my chest, completely dispelling the thought that I had entailing my feelings of indifference for the demon.
He pulled away, much to my dismay yet his face still remained uncomfortably close to mine. I stared into his red eyes as he surreptitiously let my hands go, moving closer so that his mouth was by my ear.

"Got you this time, milady," he whispered.
"Tch, you damn demon!"
"I'm surprised though."
"Why?"
"You've only been here for three weeks yet your resisting has gotten much less...forceful."
"*blush* You toy with me again and I won't just stand by and do nothing."
"I have something I must confess, (Y/n)."
"What-"
"Sebastian, (Y/n), we're to attend Alois Trancy's ball tonight. I need you two to find out what his plan is. The Queen is worried about what his true intentions are. There have been rumours of abducted children in the city and I suspect that he has something to do with this," Ciel exclaimed.
"Alright."
"As you wish, my lord."
Sebastian left to go make preparations, seeing as how he wasn't here anymore. The young earl looked at me, something similar to sympathy hidden in the midst of his opal blue eye.
I followed him back to his lavish office, somewhat nervous due to his sudden change in mood. It had come to my attention that he didn't simply change how he presented himself based on his company but also depending on the situation itself.
"I think Alois knows of a way to return to your world. The disappearance of those children are most likely his test subjects for whatever device he has made. I...apologise for having unintentionally leaked this information," he stated.
"What information?"
"Sebastian and I were building a device to send you back. It seems that Alois has somehow gained a hold of our blueprints."
"Don't worry, Ciel. You kept your side of the promise. It doesn't matter who made what, you found a way to send me home and I'm grateful for that."
~Timeskip to the ball~
Dressed in a black mermaid dress, midnight blue sapphires adorned my hair as well as a matching set of earrings to go with the attire. The straps of the black heels I had on reached my thigh, where my pistol and daggers were stored.

Applying the last bit of makeup to my face, I opened the door to my room to see Sebastian waiting outside wearing a finely-groomed suit to go with my dress. Seeing the mischievous glint in his eyes, I knew that the young earl had this planned.
"Shall we go, milady?"
I took his arm and let him lead me to the carriage that was waiting for us. Ciel had already entered, an impatient frown on his face. I got in, frowning as he looked over Sebastian and I with a look of approval.
"You seriously can't be shipping the two of us together...right?"
"I haven't the faintest idea what you are going on about but if you mean you think I think the two of you as a well-suited couple then that's right on the dot," replied Ciel.
"*sigh* Whatever, I can't be bothered to argue with you."
We soon arrived, where guests were eagerly flocking into the luxurious ball. Ciel nodded in our direction before Sebastian took my hand and hooked it around his arm.
The inside of the ballroom was so extravagantly decorated. Blooming red roses stood in golden vases, long crimson curtains adorned the windows and a faint mystical glow illuminated the entire room.
"Amazed, milady?" Sebastian asked.
"Of course I am. This'll be the first and last time in my life I'll get to experience something like this."
"You've changed, (Y/n)."
"Hmm? How so?"
"You've...grown a little softer. Perhaps the hospitality of the young earl and his servants have touched your heart."
"D-don't be ridiculous."
Spotting Alois and Claude greeting the various guests gathered here, I took a step forward only for Sebastian to tighten his hold on my hand. Claude had noticed our presence and was in front of us within the blink of an eye.
"Who's this?" he asked.
"You do not need to know her identity," Sebastian's replied smoothly.
"You must have come here for the abducted children. Well, you are too late. They are..."
"(Y/n), it's in their basement."
I gasped as Sebastian lifted me up and headed to the basement of the mansion, where a strange machine stood in its centre. Still somewhat shaken from the speed at which we travelled, I put an arm on Sebastian to keep myself steady as he put me back on the ground.
Claude appeared before us, as if preventing us from going any further. I glared at the demon, seeing as how he was blocking my only way home.
"(Y/n), while I'm distracting him, head straight to the door in the centre. It activates once a living being is inside. Once you go back to your time, you...cannot come back."
"Wait...don't tell me you and Ciel planned this? His first priority wasn't the abducted children...it was sending me home."
"Nice of you to catch on, milady."
"But I didn't even say-"
Claude ripped me out of Sebastian's grasp, flinging me towards the device's open door. Sebastian reached for my outstretched hand; however, was held back by the demon who had thrown me.
"(Y/n), w-wait! I...love you-"
The door had shut upon my entry. It was then that it dawned on me...I didn't want to leave. I...loved Sebastian too much to let him go...

Rebirth of Destiny I
In a world where magical runes called Rebirths rest in the hands of hostile nations, fourteen-year-old Aiden lived a quiet life in a small town conveniently named Khalm. Born with crescent-shaped irises and silver hair, young Aiden was never bothered by his unusual birthmarks until the night his life as a simple delivery boy changed. He was the 'Rebirth Destroyer', someone ruling powers deemed a threat. Chased by death and the foretelling of the world ending by his hands, Aiden soon finds that there are few people he can trust. My stories are fantasy-based and heavily influenced by classic Final Fantasy games ( by classic I mean 1-10 ) and other Japanese Role-Playing Games I used to enjoy, with one difference; the main characters are Black. July 2022 update! After months of deliberation, I've decided to continue with this cast of characters in the next books instead. The loose ends in this story have been keeping me up all night. I've gotten started on 2 sequels to this; Rebirth of Destiny II based on the good ending and the alternative ending. After I get a good backlog built up they'll be published once a week.
