《Anime/Webtoon Oneshots》Soft Singing (Hanabusa Aido x reader)

Anime: Vampire Knight
(A/N): Hey everyone, sorry for not updating for a while. There have been some things going on but it's all over now :)
(Y/n)'s POV
Strumming the strings on my guitar, I opened my mouth and let out a soft melody to fill the air around me. Sitting in the still yet lively garden cast in moonlight, I sang quietly, a gentle smile plastered on my face.
Only creatures of the night accompanied me in my lonely escapade. Owls hooted as I continued to sing, not paying any attention to the male watching me as he crept up, my mind completely lost in the music.
My thoughts were in the cloud. The music was all I could hear. Humming the last few notes, I strummed the guitar, only then noticing the vampire who had appeared beside me.
"Hey," Hanabusa greeted.
"*blush* D-did you hear me sing?"
"Of course I did. I heard it from my room."
"Please don't tell anyone. I-"
"Your voice is really nice, (Y/n)."
"...eh?"
"Why don't you tell anyone?" he asked as he took a seat beside me.
"I'm really not that good..."
"Come on, have you even heard yourself? It calms the mind."
"What about you? Can you sing?"
"Well, I try."
My fingers found themselves playing a melody on the guitar as I looked at him, my eyes looking into his as I waited for him to sing. Noticing the hope reflected in my eyes, he cracked a smile and complied to my wishes.
Although I knew him as the cheerful, charismatic vampire who I had fallen in love with, I never imagined him to be the type that could sing well. This moment was one in which I could either confirm or reject my assumption.

Playing (favourite soft song), my eyes widened in surprise as he sang, his gaze meeting my own. He knew all the lyrics and sang them without a single note out of tune nor any timing out of beat.
I found a small smile creep onto my face as he smiled too. His voice reverberated across the garden, the wind's gentle blows doing nothing to cool the warmth surrounding our bodies.
He put his hand over my eyes, concealing my sight as I played the last few notes on the guitar. Feeling something warm on my lips, I realised that he was kissing me.
His hands cupped my face as he leaned in, my back pressed against the tree as I shakily held onto my guitar and shyly kissed back. The blonde male broke contact, murmuring three soft words as he smiled teasingly.
"I love you."
"Hanabusa-"
"Go back to your dorms. It's almost dawn," Zero ordered, his glare no less menacing even when issuing 'orders'.
"Alright alright, mr grumpy pants. No need to get mad over spilled milk," replied Hanabusa.
"And no more singing at night, vampire. The Day Class students will get suspicious."
"Don't refer to her as 'vampire'. She has a name," his voice suddenly low and his eyes ablaze.
"All vampires are vampires. What's the meaning in a name?"
"W-we're sorry, Zero. We'll go back."
With one hand holding my guitar and the other onto Hanabusa's hand, I hurriedly headed back inside for I did not want a fight to break out between the two.
Once inside, Hanabusa stopped walking, his hand pulling me back. I stumbled backwards until his hands grabbed a hold on my arms. He was angry. The pace of his breathing and the sudden change in attitude gave it away.

"Why did you apologise to a lowlife like him?" he asked.
"B-because we were technically supposed to be inside and-"
"He's a vampire hunter. He doesn't deserve your apology nor our understanding. He practically insulted you."
"But he had reason to..."
"His past has nothing to do with you!"
"Oi, be quiet. Some of us are trying to sleep here!" Ruka exclaimed as she stepped into the hallway.
"W-we're sorry."
Hanabusa smiled at the light brunette as we passed and went into my room. I put my guitar down. His hands pinned my own onto the wall as he leaned down, his fangs grazing my neck ever so slightly.
Without warning, he sank them in, sucking the blood out of my body. I whimpered before the pain slowly subdued into nothingness. He pulled away and licked his lips, a playful glint in his eyes as I drank from him.
"I'm sorry for getting mad at you," he apologised.
"Don't worry about it."
"Your blood's really sweet. Let me have some more later."
"*blush* Hanabusa!"
"*laughs* Your reaction is always so cute. I couldn't help myself."
"S-so you mean all those times you teased me before..."
"Yep, I did it because I love your reaction."
I reminisced about the times in which he would come close yet never touching all to get a reaction. Yet there was a time all those years ago when I took his blood after a fatal injury...because he offered without a second thought. My first real contact with him.
"(Y/n), I'm getting sleepy."
Letting out a small gasp, he pulled me onto the bed, his arms snaking around my waist as he placed his chin on my head. Seeing as how his breathing had become slow and steady, I knew that he had already fallen asleep.
A small sliver of sunlight filtered through the crack of the curtains, casting light shadows over the furniture. I noticed a presence at the door, unconsciously moving closer to Hanabusa as Kaname slid a note under the door.
Squinting my eyes, I made it out to read as: If you want to sing, do so in your own room and not out in the open.
Blushing a dark shade of red, I buried my face in the blonde male's chest. If he heard, then I was sure the others had spoken to him about it. Did they recognise that it was my voice? Or did they simply hear Hanabusa's?
"(Y/n)..."
Looking up at him, I noticed that he had talked in his sleep. Noticing how his long lashes complimented his features, I reached out to touch his hair. His eyes fluttered open, still tired from having to wake during the day.
"You're not asleep yet," he exclaimed softly.
"I'll sleep soon."
"Okay, if you say so..."
He pressed a gentle kiss against my forehead, sending an electric flow of warmth through my body. Soon enough, the blonde vampire fell into a deep slumber. I smiled to myself as I found myself growing sleepy.
