《Inked and Dangerous》49 ~ Ryan

Why did it have to be Montana? There wasn't a fucking FBI office for seven hundred miles. The local authorities had been contacted and were on their way to the last location Felix mentioned before she was escorted from the car by Donovan and Jordy, but Ryan wanted to be the one to kick Jordy in the nuts, although he wasn't exactly moving at the speed of light. In fact, Ryan was currently trapped in a Cessna with Bronson headed for the Middle-of-Nowhere, Montana. At least Fulton hadn't insisted on tagging along, and Ryan basked in the jerkoff-free reprieve, focusing instead on the radio receiver as it fed him information.
"It smells like cheap motel in here," Felix said.
"Were you expecting the Four Seasons, Miss Taylor? I'm not inclined to spend money on deserters, especially ones who plot to ruin me." There was a clunk and Ryan flinched. "Here is your laptop. I'm sure you recognize it. We also have Andy's laptop. They were removed from your home before it was regrettably incinerated. I am going to make you a proposition that I think you will agree to, since the alternative would not bode well for your current physical state." A moment of silence passed, and Ryan imagined Donovan attempting to intimidate Felix with a criminal gaze. "I want you to spend the next twelve hours teaching Jordy the methods you and Andy use to track accounts in exchange for not killing you."
"That's a very generous proposition, but I don't see how you can expect me to teach Jordy in twelve hours what it took Andy two years to develop."
"I suggest you give it your best effort."
"Jordy, what is your highest level of education?" Felix asked.
"Fuck you, Felix," came Jordy's response.

"Miss Taylor. I'm sure it wouldn't take a genius to learn how to manipulate a few numbers on a screen. I'm not asking you to teach Jordy the code, I just want him to be able to do what I ask him to do. What I used to ask Andy to do."
"And you're assuming I know what you asked Andy to do? I haven't had much involvement with the accounts since I helped him finish the code."
"I know how involved you are. I found a lot of useful information on your computer. It was a bit of a trick getting past your security, but I called in a favor from a buddy of mine and he cracked the code, so to speak. Such a lovely family you have. Your sister doesn't share your stunning eyes, but her children are precious. Like little angels. I'd hate to see them become real angels before they've had a chance to experience life."
"You're a bastard."
"My personality traits are not the topic. The topic is your brilliant mind. I need you to use that mind to help me run my business, and because you have proven to be an unwilling team player, you have forced me to use your family as leverage."
"The fact that I have a brilliant mind doesn't mean I can teach Jordy a complicated coding system in twelve hours. He's much more suited to the task of henchman. Can't you find me someone else? What about your friend who broke into my laptop?"
"Do not question my methods, Miss Taylor. I would have you teach me if there wasn't an important engagement requiring my attention for the bulk of the evening. Make sure Jordy takes detailed notes. I will check on your progress every few hours. In the morning, we will discuss what your future looks like. Have a pleasant night."

The 48 Laws of Power in Practice
Discover how power works in the world, through true stories and real-world applications. In the game of power, we all play - as either conscious or unconscious players. So we can't afford not to know the rules. The ** chapters have the most outrageous content. In each chapter, I will be summarizing one of the laws and how it can be applied to current events and pop culture. Some of you have told me the stories are what you enjoy the most. They are real, raw, and anonymous so that others may learn from my mistakes. There will be cringe-worthy stories of self-sabotage, but perhaps also some unlikely triumphs. Some of the details are changed to protect the innocent, (or perhaps guilty). "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene illustrates truths about power, through philosophy and lessons from three thousand years of history, which still hold true today. There is a lot to learn from each chapter. I encourage you to go on this journey with me by reflecting on how each law might apply to you. Together, may we learn from the past and take control of the future.
