11 months later :)

"Ah hi! Rosa right?" a smiling woman greeted Rosa at the door of the new born nursery. She had been at her new precinct for almost a year now and Rosa was happy. She was in a good place at work, with Jocelyn, with herself. Now that she was finally there Rosa had decided to do something she had always wanted to do, volunteer at a nursery.

"Yep that's me," She beamed.

"Wonderful, have you had your training and done the paper work?"

"Sure have," Rosa handed the woman a handful of papers. She checked them all and nodded.

"All looks good to me, come through," The woman directed Rosa into another room. "So I'm Julie and today I'm looking after Mag's," Julie pointed at a sleeping baby in a push chair.

"Awe she's so cute!" Rosa said looking over at her.

"She's only 1 month," Julie continued. "As this is your first time you will be getting one of our oldest, 3 months. I know it's still young but she is an angel of a child."

"Ok perfect," Julie disappeared for a second and re appeared shortly after holding one of the most beautiful babies she had ever seen. "Oh my gosh she's beautiful!" Rosa's mouth hung open. Julie handed Rosa the baby who was staring at her curiously. Her bright blue eyes sparkling in the sun.

"This is Iggy," Julie smiled.

"Hi gorgeous," Rosa kissed Iggy on the cheek and bounced the baby in her arms. Iggy giggled and waved her arms.

"I'll leave you two to it then," Julie smiled and walked off.

"What do you want to do Igs?" Rosa asked looking around. Obviously Iggy had only been alive for 3 months and had no concept of activities and Rosa knew that, she just asked anyway. Rosa settled on reading Iggy a book.

Rosa was having trouble putting the little girl down to sleep for her afternoon nap. Any time Rosa would put her in the pram, Iggy would hold her arms out for Rosa and cry.

"She must like you, she doesn't normally do this," Julie piped up after watching Rosa struggle for a while. Rosa laughed.

"What do I do?" She sighed.

"Well if I ever struggle with any of the kids I just let them sleep on me, easiest way," Julie winked and walked away again. Rosa looked down at the crying baby and gave in.

Iggy fell asleep, head nuzzled into Rosa's neck with her hand clinging onto a handful of black curls. Rosa just sat there and stroked up and down the baby's back while she slept. This was literally the best decision of her life it was only mid day and Rosa had already fallen in love with this child. Maybe she would talk to Jocelyn about having a kid of their own? No it was too soon for that. For now Rosa would just have to make do with looking after new borns which she had no problem with anyway.

"IGGY MUMMY IS HERE," Julie shouted from the hall. Rosa looked the baby sat on her knee. She was chewing on a strange clear ring.

"You ready to home Iggles," Rosa smiled tickling the baby. Iggy giggled and babbled at the woman. Rosa stood up and held Iggy in arms.

"We had a new volunteer look after her today," Rosa could hear Julie saying to who she presumed was Iggy's mum.

"I hope she was well taken care of," someone said laughing, as Rosa neared the door. She knew that voice, boy did she know that laugh. That's when Rosa put two and two together. Iggy, This was The Enigma Linetti and the woman she was about to lock eyes with.... well that has go to be...

"Gina?" Rosa's jaw dropped.

"Rosa? omg! surprised you didn't kill her," Gina laughed nervously, holding her hands out for her baby.

"She's cute," Rosa said awkwardly handing Iggy over. The minute Iggy was out of Rosa's arms she was crying. Rosa just stood there not sure what to do.

"Shhhh why are you crying?" Gina stroked her baby's head trying to calm her down.

"She has let go of Rosa without crying all day," Julie laughed, clearly not reading the room. Gina honestly looked quite hurt.

"Could you give us a min?" Rosa turned and asked Julie. She nodded and walked off. Iggy carried on crying.

"Can I?" Rosa asked going to take Iggy back. Gina nodded and let Rosa scoop her baby girl up. The instant Rosa was holding her, Iggy stopped crying. Rosa pulled a face that Gina could only interpret as *Ah shit-*

"It's fine, I don't blame her," Gina laughed. "How have you been? How's the new job?"

"I've been doing pretty good, everyone at work is so friendly. I'm still putting on the act though so I'm not on everyone's good side yet," She laughed and kissed Iggy's head.

11 months without seeing Rosa and now suddenly she was stood watching her kiss her own baby. What the hell was going on?! Gina hadn't coped as well as Rosa supposedly had. She still wasn't convinced so loved Rosa, you know romantic stylezzz, so she just put it down to losing her "bestfriend".

"You going to go to Mummy now and be a good girl Igs?" The girl just tugged at Rosa's hair making Rosa smile. "I will see you soon munchkin," Rosa kissed her and handed the baby back over to Gina. Iggy didn't seem too happy but she didn't cry at least.

"God where have you been for the last 3 months!?," Gina asked jokily but Rosa went all quiet and awkward. The last time she had seen Gina, they had kissed. Everything just felt so wrong about seeing her, all the feelings came flooding back with just one look. Except from the tiredness in her eyes, Gina looked no different to the day Rosa left. She hated it, hated this. "We should get going, Milton is waiting in the car."

"Oh yes of course go," Rosa felt sad. She had just fallen back into the place she had worked so damn hard to get out of.

"Say goodbye to Rosie Igs," Gina ticked Iggy's belly. Rosa blushed. Rosie. She hadn't heard that in months and especially not from Gina's mouth.

"Bye bye gorgeous," Rosa leant over and kissed the delicate head of Iggy. "Bye Gina."

"Bye Rosa," Gina smiled and turned to open the door. Every part of Rosa was itching to grab her and beg her not to go. Tell her how much she missed Gina's embrace, her smile, her lips, her energy, Gina's everything. Rosa missed her. She managed to fight the urge and watched Gina walk off. She let her go again.
