So we had Nutcracker auditions this week and let me just say, I did not expect what happened. I auditioned on Wednesday and it was an audition class for a harder role and I did not expect to get the part and I didn't. I mostly took the class for experience. The second audition was for the role of a Candy Cane. This role I expected to get. I filled out the paperwork, had myself measured and was lead into a room in a line with other girls. Then I was lead into another room with the rest of the girls and we waited there for a long while. Then we were brought in another studio and we're show a short combination and we went over it a couple of times. Then he had us go over it in groups of five. I didn't pick it up quick enough and I didn't get the role. I was so frustrated but I forced my frustration down and a couple hours later I went back and tried out for another role. I didn't get that role either. Ugh, it was so frustrating. I almost cried a couple of times, but I didn't let a tear escape. I laid on my back and closed my eyes and pretended I was tired and I don't think my ballet friends noticed. Then there was the last audition I tried out for. I was nervous but determined not to give up and trust in God. The last audition I did well on. I picked up the combination quickly and I did well. I watched the other girls dance and I thought I had done pretty well. Then my number was called and I got the role!!! So my new favorite number is now 312. Just another note I thought I might add, there was 40-50 girls auditioning per audition so, there was a lot of pressure to do well. Anyways, yesterday was crazy but I am very happy now, so have a great day and just keep on dancing!! ~Mia
