my short

and heavy legs

finally catch up

with you

and i gasp in

horror

when i see

you scaling

the huge

and sharp rocks

that act as

a barrier between

the ravine and

the land

and for a moment

all i can do

is just stare

as every movement

you make

takes you closer

to you death

and then i spring

into action

scaling the rocks

even if it cuts

my limbs

and makes

my skin a

mosaic of

dirt and sweat

i follow you

trying to reach you

trying to save you

trying to save myself
