"Y/N"
My once closed eyes opened at the voice of my brother, Eren.
"Oh. I fell asleep. I guess I was that tired" I replied.
"Let's head back," Mikasa said as she went to take her logs.
"I had a long dream Y/N. Too bad I forgot" Eren said in his cheerful self.
"Me too Eren. I forgot as well." I said and smiled.
But the dream had an injection. It's so terrifying. I always hated needles.
"Eren. Why are you crying?" Mikasa asked as I looked at Eren and saw tears.
________________
"Don't tell anyone about me crying" Eren said as we carried the logs behind our backs as we crossed the bridge.
Don't worry Eren. Even though you're trying to become a man. You will always be my little baby brother.
"But for you to start crying for no reason. Why not ask Uncle to take a look at you" Mikasa said.
"Don't be stupid. As if I could tell dad" Eren scowled.
"What are you crying over, Eren?" A voice spoke.
"Mr Hannes" I greeted.
I would recorrect that to Drunk Hannes.
"Did you got scolded by Y/N and Mikasa?" Mr Hannes spoke basically provoking Eren.
"Huh? What makes you think I'd cry." Eren spoke as Mr Hannes leaned closer to us.
A lot of things actually.
"Mr Hannes you reek of booze" I disgustedly spoke as I covered my nose.
"Come on it's cool," Mr Hannes said as my eyes diverted to other Garrisons drinking and playing cards.
Lazy slackers.
"You're drinking again?"
"Why don't you three join us? Y/N your legally ok to drinking" Mr Hannes.
I'm 19 but that doesn't mean I want to be drunk weirdos.
"I'll definitely pass" I replied.
"Well, what about work?" Eren asked.
"Ah we're wall guards today," Mr Hannes said "Having been here all day, hunger and thirst are bound to catch up to us"
Idiots. You could just drink water or bread.
"The fact that alcohol happened to be in our drinks is but a trivial matter" He continued
"But will you be able to fight when you need to?" An irritated Eren spoke
"And when will that be?"
"Isn't that obvious?! When they break down the wall and destroy the city!" Eren shouted.
(Nice foreshadowing Ereh)
"Oh damn. Hey, Eren don't start yelling so suddenly" One of the drunk military police spoke.
"You're really lively. Doctor's son" He said boasting as he came up to us. "If they ever manage to do that, you bet we'll get the job done."

From what the drunk man said, I quietly laughed at their stupidity.
'Never have I heard a drunk man kill 10 titans
"Then again, it's been nothing but peace and quiet these past 100 years" He continued.
"Even so, letting your guard down is the worst decision everyone can make" I spoke.
"Father said that to us so it's true!" Eren said.
"Dr Yeager huh?" Mr Hannes spoke "Come to think of it, Doc was the one who saved this town from a pandemic and we're all greatly indebted to him. However, they're an entirely different matter."
(Hey Grisha. Ehem Grisha. Ehem covid)
"If you're a soldier they're be times where you see them, wandering outside while reinforcing the walls. Still, I can't imagine them being able to do about anything about this fifty-meter wall" Mr Hannes spoke.
"W-wait. You're saying that you don't even have the resolve to fight with them to begin with?!" Eren started.
"Pretty much" Mr Hannes replied
A bunch of slackers. If I were them I would train harder every day for the day when trouble comes.
"Seriously?!" Eren spoke.
"Eren" I started as he stopped talking. "Stop calling yourselves the 'stationed army corps' and go by "drunk wall construction corps instead"
"That doesn't sound half bad. Maybe take away the 'drunk'" Mr Hannes spoke as an irk mark formed on my head.
"But you know, Eren, Y/N, to see soldiers working wouldn't bode well for us" He continued "Its when we're criticized by people who call us useless freeloaders that everyone's leaving peace for"
'Stupid. Such stupidness it already hurts my brain'
"Even if we're confined within these walls, we can keep on living, just eating and sleeping. But. That would be as if" Eren spoke "As if we're just cattle"
Mr Hannes was surprised as the sound of laughter was made by the drunken corps.
"What a valiant little brat!" One of them said. "Even though he can't do anything himself right Hannes?"
As a vein popped out of my skin in anger.
"Oi! Oi! You drunken bastards bet a child-like Eren would be better to become one of the corps than you. Ugly drunk slackers!" I shouted as one of them stood up
"What did you just say?!" They said as I went up to them.
I took off one of my flat shoes and held it up, giving them a threatening look that gave a shiver down their spine.
"One word about Eren behind my back. You'll never see the light of day ever again" I snarled "Did you got that brat!?"

The two immediately nodded, scared as I released my flat shoe out of my grip and put it back on my foot and went away with Eren and Mikasa.
"Do not look back" I said as we went away.
Continuing to go home. As we went up a rocky slope.
"Eren, You should give up on joining the survey corps," Mikasa spoke.
"What? You're looking down on them too?" Eren replied as he looked at Mikasa.
"I agree," I said as Eren looked back at me.
"It has nothing to do with how I see them-" Mikasa was interrupted by the bell tower signalling that the survey corps arrived.
"The survey corps are back! The front gate is going to open" Eren exclaimed in excitement as he took mine and Mikasa's wrist as he dragged the both of us "Let's go Mikasa, Y/N. The triumphant return of the heroes."
________________
We searched for the spot for both Eren and Mikasa to see. Regardless of how old I am. My height is small. It's small enough to see through the crowd of people.
"Eren. Mikasa. Stand on top of those wooden box" I ordered as they went on it as they saw the survey corps over the crowd.
Incoming was Erwin Smith. The commander of the survey corps.
As behind him was a bunch of soldiers that were severely injured. Some had to be helped.
But. They were a lot of them.
I guess this is why Mom and Dad never wanted me to join the survey corps. They didn't want me to end up like that.
"Only this many made it back?" One of the crowd said. "They must've all been eaten.
"No shit sherlock" I whispered to myself as I felt Mikasa's elbow nudged at me.
The idea of blood injures and dead bodies don't feel too disgusting for some reason but as I looked at Eren he's eyes were terrified.
"This what happens when you go outside the walls," Another person in the crowd said.
I've really like to go outside the walls. Without titans of course.
"Moses? Moses?" A woman's voice shouted in worry as our heads directed to the woman's cry.
"Excuse me but I don't see my son Moses," She asked one of the survey corps "Where can I find him?"
"In the afterlife." I silently spoke.
"It's Moses's mother," A guy said as he directed an injured soldier to bring something "Bring it over"
The injured soldier gave the woman a covered thing. She looked terrified as she saw her son's arm as she sobbed and cried.
"That's all we're able to recover," The guy said as the woman fell to her knees crying over her son's arm.
"But..... My son.... did he carry out his duty? Right?" The woman asked as the guy was taken back at what the woman asked. "Although it may not have been any significant, he contributed to mankind's retaliation somehow, didn't he?"
"Of course!" The guy said hesitantly "No. Through this mission, We... No, through all of our missions.." He shouted as the crowd's face fell "We've failed to achieve anything! Because of my incompetence, I've gotten soldiers killed for nothing and failed to learn the slightest thing about them!"
If people use their brains properly, the commander of every mission in the survey corps, held a very guilty face that I can only see.

"What a real mess"
"Tell me about it"
Murmurs of the town's folk said as the survey corps left.
"All this shows is that our taxes are being spent fattening them up for nothing," A guy with hair on the side of his head said as Eren bonked him with a stick.
That's how I teach my little siblings for idiotic people. I'm so proud Eren.
"What's your problem you damn brat?!" He exclaimed as an irk appeared on my forehead.
"Oi! Oi! No one calls my brother a brat except for me, you bald wrinkled old man" I shouted as I dragged Eren to an alleyway.
"Hey! W-what are you doing Y/N?" He exclaimed as I dragged him away with Mikasa.
"Hey! Get your was back here!" The half half-man shouted but we were far away from him.
"Y/N! This is far enough isn't it!?" He shouted as I yeeted him to the wall making the wood fall off his back.
"What was that for?!" Eren said "the wood is all over the place"
"You were acting like a brat" I replied.
"Eren. Did that change your mind about joining the survey corps?" Mikasa's soft voice spoke.
He looked hesitantly and went back on picking up the wood
"Just help me pick them up."
