"Retrieving Wall Maria? Well, that's expected especially from you." Y/N sat from across Erwin's table crossed arms. "Why can't I just not be separated from my brother?"

"The enemy wants you. I don't know anyone else why. Since Reiner and Berthold kidnapped you as well. If you and Eren ended up together in the mission it would easily be a good advantage to them." Erwin explained as Y/N sighed.

"I guess that's true." Y/N looked at Erwin with realisation. "By the way... When Levi told me you're going to upgrade my rank, is it true?"

Erwin became silent and gazed at Y/N giving a small smile.

"What if I say yes?"

"Then I'll assign you to lead your squad." Y/N felt dumbfounded knowing the pressure of leading a squad of her own.

Y/N then remembered the former Levi squad. She gulped anxiously frowning. She knew what will happen in the future.

Erwin Smith took notice of Y/N's sudden bitter look. He knew what Y/N was thinking and sighed.

"So Y/N Yeager... What's your answer?" Erwin asked.

"So... How was it?" Levi asked Y/N who had left Erwin's office.

"It was fine. I got my new rank."

"You look calm for someone who just got promoted faster than you're friends," Y/N answered Levi's statement with a small chuckle taking his hands as they started walking away.

"I'm always calm," Y/N stated. "I bet only a few people know about this"

"Words pass fast, darling. Especially to your fans."

"I bet the rest knows already."

The two arrived at Y/N's room stopping in front of her door.

"Are you sure you don't want to help Historia's orphanage? Knowing you, I bet you would like to go." Y/N asked the Lance Corporal letting go of his hand and turning the doorknob.

"I would like to go and see you handle a bunch of kids but paperwork waits for me every day." Levi placed a hand on Y/N's head softly paying her. "I'm sure you can handle it well. Sorry I can't come with you, Darling."

"It's okay. Let's visit the orphanage next time together."

"It's been a while since I have worn such casual clothes." Y/N twirled around looking at the clothes.

Last time, she wore casual clothes back after her, Eren, Mikasa and Armin graduated from the training corps.

"I didn't know we had the same size of clothes." Y/N turned around meeting Historia who giggled.

"You know Y/N. You kinda look like my sister, Frieda or is it just me. Your eyes remind me of mine's and my father." Historia confessed.

"Well, I... I don't know how to respond to that. But... Thanks."

"Charge my children! We shall retake the land that is ours!" Y/N roleplayed with orphans who were originally from the underground.

The children were tremendously enjoying this. And for, Y/N. She was so into the roleplay that the others from afar thought Y/N wanted to have a war. Y/N gave a malicious cackle.

"Y/N! Don't teach the children violence!" Historia scolded.

"It's called roleplay for a reason, Historia," Y/N answered and then looking back at the 2 kids with her. "Now, let's play hide and sick!"

"Y/N truly fits the role of mother," Armin says to Jean and Eren who were leaning on the fences admiring the scene. "But... She lacks the skills of housework."

"True. One time mom let Y/N cook for lunch but it almost ended up burning the whole house down, thanks to Mikasa the house was safe." Eren agreed reminiscing the times.

"Y/N lacks house skills but she's very good at being a parent. Technically thanks to her we survived after my grandfather died." Eren gives a nod of approval to Armin's statement.

"At Y/N's age, she's already fit to become a wife and a mother," Jean confessed earning a glare from Eren. "I mean... Y/N's taken already so..."

"Taken?!!"

Armin glared at Jean making him stop speaking up.

"Get back here!!" Historia chased Y/N with the 2 children with her making Armin, Jean and Eren's gaze divert on them forgetting the past topic.

"She's uh..."

"Yeah she doesn't exactly act like a queen," Armin stated.

"Don't run away now! Listen to me!" Historia grabbed the two children's back collar scolding them and then faced Y/N. "You too, Y/N!"

All Y/N could do was just laugh. But something in her feels a bit anxious. Something is about to happen but she doesn't know what. All she could do was hold on to this moment and laugh as much as she could.

Y/N would never know if she would ever have a moment like this again.

"Hey! You're slacking again! It's going to be dark soon." Historia scolded Armin, Jean and Eren.

Everyone was now carrying a box to bring back to the orphanage. All Y/N could think while mindlessly walking was the new expedition later on.

Y/N was still anxious but her face didn't show that sigh giving an empty and mindless look to nothing but the empty air.

She questioned everything. Theorizing what is Berthold and Reiner's plans. Planning to do if Berthold and Reiner take her or Eren to their hometown.

The girl kept her mind busy not even noticing that she had reached the orphanage. Mikasa took notice of Y/N's blank look and tapped Y/N, making her flinch and her mind back to the ground.

"Are you okay, Y/N?" Mikasa asked worriedly. Y/N didn't want the girl to worry and immediately diverted her gaze to Eren and Historia chatting while bringing more boxes.

Y/N smirked back to Mikasa and pointed out in Eren and Historia's direction.

Mikasa's face gloomed and immediately went up to Eren and Historia. Y/N stood in her position giving a snicker.

"What?" Eren asked not noticing Mikasa's glooming face.

"I'll take that" Mikasa took the box that Eren held.

"Hey!"

Y/N decided to not waste time and place the box in front of the orphanage hoping someone would pick it up and go inside.

The girl went far away from the orphanage and sat on the grass while the wind blew in her hair peacefully.

Y/N closed her eyes for a second as she opened them back again. Instead of seeing and feeling the grassy ground and terrain, she saw and felt the white sand beneath her while facing the white glowing tree once again.

The girl looked at her side and saw Ymir Fritz standing while also gazing at the white glowing tree.

"What happened to her?" Levi asked the group around him.

"We don't know, Captain. I thought she was with Mikasa but she wasn't." Sasha confessed. "The kids said she wasn't inside either."

Levi, Sasha, Connie, Jean, Eren and Mikasa are inside Levi's office looking at Y/N sleeping body on the sofa.

"Historia saw Y/N sitting down In the grass, she immediately went up to her. Y/N wasn't answering Historia." Eren said.

"When Historia looked at Y/N, she was in shock when she saw Y/N blankly looking like she was in a trance. She also pointed out she had the same eyes like her older sister, Frieda." Mikasa added.

"Once Historia came to get us, Y/N was lying on the ground with her eyes closed peacefully," Connie said.

"Hmm... Everyone leave this room and go back to their plans." Levi said.

"B-but captain..."

"Leave."

Everyone left going back to their rooms and plans. Levi sat in his chair looking at Y/N for a moment.

"You don't need to act anymore," Levi said as he sipped his tea.

Y/N opened her eyes. Levi noticed Y/N's eyes were the same as her normal eyes. Y/N's eyes right now aren't the ones that Historia had to describe.

"What happened?" Levi asked.

"It's nothing," Y/N asked closing her eyes once again. Levi didn't see a hint of lies in her body language and tone. Levi did not know if Y/N was lying r saying the truth. "I was simply trying to make use of the peacefulness and meditate."

Inside Levi... He still did not know if she was saying the truth or not. But one thing Levi noticed is that Y/N was too calm and getting too suspicious.

"Now!" The Scout shouted as another scout cut a rope with an axe triggering a contraption letting down a huge log of wood above the wall.

The huge log of wood smashed a titan's nape successfully.

Everyone above watched the contraption.

"Oh!! That's a direct hit to the nape! This could be it." Hange watched as the nape of the titan let out steam indicating its death "we did it! We took down a 12-meter titan!"

"We did it!" Eren kneeled as Hange was energized about the success.

While Hange was blabbering about success, Y/N handed Eren a handkerchief for his heavy nose bleed.

"Eren?"

"He probably used his Titan powers," Levi said. "He's been doing hardening experiments nonstop."

"Sorry, Eren." Hange apologized as Eren looked at them.

"You have nothing to apologise for, Hange. What does it matter if I'm tired" Y/N's eyebrows furrow in dissatisfaction from Eren's statement? "We need to hurry up and get this weapon to Shiganshina."

"Eren is being an idiot. He wants to overuse his body and it worries me." Y/N took the tray of emptied bowls and glasses from Levi's table.

"Don't worry about that kid. You should worry about yourself for once. You're more precious to me than that kid."

"Yeah sure." Y/N scoffed jokingly and left Levi's office carrying the tray to the main hall.

Once Y/N got there and gave the dishwasher their try she spot a group who was with the 104th surrounding her friends and Marlo who had newly joined the scouts.

She went up to them slowly hearing the red brush hair boy that she presumes his name is Floorch speaking.

"That's harsh coming from another member of the 104th. And I know it's not just us. Pretty much everyone is excited about the possibility of retaking Wall Maria." Floorch said smugly.

"Is that so?" Jean replied straight causing the Floorch boy to be off guard.

"Well, your squad does seem a little bit different lately. You've got this look about you know. What exactly happened?"

Just right in time Y/N reached up to the Floorch boy and placed her hand on his shoulder staring at him.

"Wanna know?" Y/N asked who had the more serious look like the rest of her squad.

"N-no... M-maybe some other time." Floorch looked at Y/N giving a flustered look.

Floorch and his squad left as the rest of Y/N's friends noticed Y/N.

"Hey Y/N, you're late. Don't worry you still have time to finish eating." Jean spoke as Y/N shook her head with a respectful no thank you.

"I just ate with the Captain. I'll see you all tomorrow" Y/N gave a small smile and left the main hall.

Y/N walked through the halls casually going back to Levi's office.

"I guess Eren figured it out. Keith Shadis is dad's friend. Oh too bad Eren hasn't figured out what memories dad hid for me." Y/N spoke to herself. "Oh, dear... Why do I feel like tomorrow will bring a lot of information regarding my missing father."

"He was the 12th Commander of the Survey Corps once. Erwin's predecessor. It's been a long time since I've seen him." Hange admitted.

Everyone was on their horses travelling to the training corps for Keith Shadis.

"Why do I feel heavy all of a sudden?" Y/N whispered to herself while riding Horse.

Everyone arrived at the training corps coming up to Keith Shadis whose back was facing us.

Sasha hid behind Jean from behind us while Y/N was silently giggling beside Levi.

"Commandant Shadis," Eren spoke out as Shadis looked at them. Eren gave Shadis the iconic salute.

Everyone was inside seated on the chairs except for Sasha who was still afraid of Shadis till today.

"You're not going to take a seat, Blouse?" Shadis asked.

"No! I am perfectly happy standing!" Sasha replied with an aggressive shout but with a stoned scared face causing Y/N to try to hold back her laugh.

"I do seem to recall reprimanding you in this room a few times. And that only was a few months ago." Shadis scanned the scouts that he used to train. "I hardly recognize you anymore"

"Commander Shadis, or should I say, Commandant. With the mission to retake Wall Maria so near perhaps you can guess what brings us here today." Hange spoke.

Shadis stared at Eren for a while.

"Eren. You look so much like your mother. But those daggers in your eyes have only come from your father. And you." Shadis confessed and then stared at Y/N very serious than Eren.

It lasted for a few seconds as Shadis looked away.

"You look like another person but that messy hair and glassy stare is also like your father," Shadis replied making Levi knit his eyebrows from the Commandant's statement.

"Please tell me everything you know about him!" Eren stood up.

"What I know is worth very little. The only thing I can compare is a story of no importance to humanity. It is a story made up by a mere bystander." Keith Shadis said and began to tell his story.

"It was twenty years ago at Wall Maria. He was out there just beyond the gates of Shiganshina. He said what are you doing on this side of the wall? You couldn't possibly be fighting out here could you?.

I was confused. Was he telling the truth? He claimed that he doesn't remember how he got outside the walls. Or anything else about himself of the matter. All he could remember was his name, Grisha Yeager.

Like what you're dealing with right now am I right Y/N Yeager?" Shadis looked at Y/N while the girl looked dumbfounded as her eyes widened.

Y/N Yeager. it's the only thing she remembered about herself at the age before Eren was born. She never remembered her favourite colour, food and place not until she grew up inside the walls. She even didn't remember

Keith Shadis looked away from Y/N began to continue the story. Leaving Y/N in question.

"I asked Grisha what would he do now. He answered 'I've learned one thing one other thing about myself I'm a doctor.' He asked me to introduce him to a hospital and teach him everything about this world. About everything.

He truly knew nothing at all. Not about this world or anything else. He asked me why the Survey Corps venture outside the walls. Grisha answered with the Survey Corps being the Pride of Humanity. I was confused.

Destined for greatness. It was the first time anyone had said that to me. And it was true that the space inside the walls was too small for me.

If they made me commander, I would give them the results they wanted. I've given them results so impressive, their tiny brains won't deny it. And then finally, everyone will acknowledge me.

It was the time of the pandemic. Your mother, Carla was infected by the disease so I took her to your father in the hospital. Carla's parents were infected as well.

As time passes he made a cure and it worked. Everyone was cured. Haness' wife. Everyone in the town. Even Carla and her parents.

At the same time, I became the new Commander of the Survey Corps, Carla and Grisha tied the knot.

When I came back from an expedition. I met Carla once again."

Shadis paused then looked at both Eren and Y/N.

"Carla held a healthy baby boy in her arms while a kid stuck close to her holding her arm. At that time I didn't know who you two were, Eren, Y/N. 'Eren and Y/N. I guess you never got the news' she answered.

'Are you going to keep this up until you die?' she asked while looking down. It made me dumbfounded. 'When will it be enough' Carla added.

'You know why people live their lives like yours and don't accomplish a single thing?! You don't have a drop of imagination! Your lives amount to nothing and you don't even have to be ashamed of it! Greatness is beyond you - no. It is even beyond your understanding. You know not when you see it!" It even goes on to insult the only things she can do.

Yes. Normal people's lives amount to nothing.

I asked Erwin when he'll take over.

Special people do exist. It just turns out I was never one of them. Why was I not able to realize something that simple?

Then, on the day of the breach of Wall Maria, Everyone panicked and then I heard your Father's voice call out to me. Oh now I remember, it was because of him.

I and your Father went to the evacuation place where Y/N, Eren, Mikasa and Armin stayed.

Y/N, Eren. You two were woken up by your father at sunset."

Y/N and Eren were shocked at Shadis' revelation. Neither the two remembered anything about meeting their father at sunset.

*Flashback*

(Flashback is needed cuz it's hard to let Shadis summarize this part.)

Grisha held Y/N's head. Y/N was sleeping with Eren who was sleeping on his older sister's lap.

"Y/N... wake up." Y/N woke up and by instinct, she tried to tackle down him but was stopped by Grisha "Dad!! How?! What?!! Where the fuck were you?!"

"Y/N language. Why isn't your mother with you?" Grisha asked as Shadis stood behind him.

"She..." Y/N muttered while looking down with dark eyes. "She... Got eaten by a titan... If you're thinking I'm joking. I'm not. Not when it's mom."

Shadis and Grisha were shocked and in disbelief. Shadis kneeled not believing what Y/N had said.

"Y/N... Dad" Eren was awake on Y/N's lap as Y/N pressed her soft palm on his forehead. She did her best to cheer up Eren.

"Eren. Y/N. You must avenge your mother." Grisha grips the sides of both Y/N's and Eren's shoulders. "I know you can do it. Let's go."

Eren was obediently following Grisha even Y/N into the forest. At this point, Y/N was off guard due to the fact her father was someone she trusted.

"Wait. Where are you going?" Shadis asked?

"Don't follow us." Though Grisha stopped with his children when Shadis spoke to him to wait.

"You can avenge Carla yourself. Right? You're special after all. Even your daughter Y/N." Shadis said. "Not like me. What if your kid isn't like you either? Not destined for greatness..."

"Think about it. Are you going to curse someone like this?"

At the coincidentally exact time, Grisha and Y/N glared at Shadis with such inhumane eyes.

"Oi old man. My brother is nothing like you so stay out of this." Y/N spat out as she took Eren's hand.

"You heard what my daughter said. So please stay out of this." Grisha added as he, Y/N and Eren went further in the woods.
