"Welcome to the prefect committee", George whispered, while all the prefects lined up in the great hall, nudging Dreams arm.
The blonde smiled at him widely, clearly excited. "Very excited to be here", he replied quietly and inched a little closer to reach for George's hand. He was shaking and George tried to sooth his nervousness, by gently running his thumb over the back of Dreams hand.
"This year we have a few additions to our prefect committee.", McGonagall started her speech, "A few of our most responsible and hard working students, that we're very proud to officially welcome into the rows of such responsibility. We will start with Ravenclaws newest additions. Techno Blade."
Dream let go of Georges hand to applaud, cheering for his friend, as he walked up to McGonagall, getting his blue and silver pin.
He bowed to her and then to the rest of the students. Elegant, the perfect student.
He returned to the line of prefects, as McGonagall looked at her list.
"Hufflepuff welcomes Bad of Halo and Karl Jacobs, as their newest addition", she said and Dream and George erupted in cheers, from the table you could hear Sapnap and Skeppy yell out congrats. Bad was red in the face as he walked to the front of the great hall and Karl cheered back to his friends, wide smile as he waved at Sapnap at the Gryffindor table.
They both got their pins and instead of the elegant bow that Techno had done they shook McGonagalls hand and excitedly waved at their fellow students as they walked back into the rows of the other prefects.
"Into the duties for Gryffindor step Puffy and Sparkles", she continued and the entire Gryffindor table erupted in a loud cheer, stomping on the ground and knocking on the tables, applause and cheers echoing through the halls, as they got their pins.
They gave McGonagall a nod, you could see a short conversation and laughs, before they turned to the students and waved with proud smiles.
"And last, but not least, Slytherin welcomes Dream into their prefect rows.", she said, cheers echoing through the great hall before she even finished her sentence.
The usually reserved Slytherins were cheering, Punz and Sam standing on their seats to watch as Dream walked forward, whistling and applauding.

Even the Gryffindors made noise and for a moment this all felt like a fever dream to the blonde.
He smiled widely, as he walked up to McGonagall and shook he hand, head bowing down a little, before she put the pin onto his uniform. "You will do great things, keep up the good work of the past years", she said. "I will, thank you for your trust. I will do my best.", he replied and when she nodded and stepped back he turned to the students waved at them with a grateful smile and when he felt tears in his eyes, he quickly walked back to George and the other prefects.
"Look, we have matching pins now", George said and pointed at his own pin, "Yours is just shinier" "Yeah, now it is. How I know myself it'll be dull in like a week", Dream said with a chuckle, while wiping away his tears, "This is so great"
George took his hand and squeezed it gently. "It is, you deserve this so much"
"Thank you", Dream said quietly and kissed the back of Georges hand. "You'll do a fantastic job", the brunette whispered when the hall got quieter and then he got on his tippy toes to give Dream a quick kiss on the cheek. Dream smiled kissed Georges forehead, before they listened to the rest of the speeches for the new school year.
"All of our prefects are now asked to go to their houses headteacher, for the new passwords to the common rooms.", McGonagall said at the end of her speech, before she opened the feast.
Dream and the other Slytherin prefects walked up to Snape who slipped them all a little piece of paper each. victoriam intus.
"I expect you all to be punctual to your classes, clever in your conversation and respectful to your professors and each other. Be the good leaders Salazar Slytherin would want you to be.", he said and as the others already walked back down he stopped Dream in his tracks, "That was extraordinary work in the last year. Academically as well as socially, with how you defended your people from the other houses, when they tried to pick on them. Keep it up." "Thank you, Sir. I will, we have to stand up for each other when other won't"

Snape nodded approvingly and waved him away.
Pride filled Dreams chest as he sat down with Punz and Sam. "Congrats, dude", Punz said and Sam gave him a little hit against his upper arm. "We're so proud of you"
Dream smiled and said: "I'm very glad they trust me with this. It's so surreal, tho"
"I believe that", Sam replied, "But dude you made it"
Yeah, he made it.
After the feast they walked down to the dungeon and Dream talked to all the first years, showed them around on their way down. "As Slytherins you have great power within you, cleverness and natural leadership. You should be proud to wear these colours, okay? There will be people from the other houses, who will tell you that you shouldn't be filled with pride, but you know what? Fuck them" "Language!", Bad yelled over before he and the Hufflepuff first years took a right to their common room.
Dream chuckled. "Anyways, whenever someone tells you that you shouldn't be proud, don't listen to them. You always deserve to be proud of who you are and Slytherin is a great place to find out who you are, build your strength and find friends that will stay with you all your life. Cause we stick together", he continued and Punz put an arm around Dreams shoulders, leaning to the kids. "Exactly, we stick together and help each other. Loyalty is important, alright?"
The kids nodded and Dream almost teared up when he saw the proud smiles on the first years faces. "And when someone is bothering you, they're bothering the whole house. So when something is wrong, me and the others are always there to help", he added, as they arrived at the wall that hid their common room.
"The common room opens by whispering the password to the wall. This time around the password his . When someone forgets it, please help each other to get back inside or if you can't find other students to help, Snape and the other headteachers all know the passwords and will remind you of what it was.", Dream explained, before leaning to the wall and whispering the password.
The stone wall opened and together they stepped inside. Two big, black leather sofas stood around a coffee table, a fire crackling in the fireplace and big portraits hung on the walls. The windows gave a view straight into the black lake and as if to greet the new students the giant squid swam by and looked inside. Dream and the other older students waved, while the first years seemed a little afraid. "Don't worry, it's just Merlin", Sam said and a kid asked: "The actual Merlin? The wizard?" "No, we just named him after Merlin, he's just a giant squid" "He's not just a giant squid", Punz said, "He's a cool giant squid"
Dream and Sam chuckled.
Then Dream waved for everyone's attention.
"Hey, everyone! I have a few things to say! First of all, thank you for trusting me with being part of the prefect committee now to represent our house. I appreciate it a lot. This year I want all of us to to our best. Be kind, be clever, be loyal and most importantly be happy. Don't let anyone drag you down for the colour of your tie, we won't be victims to Slytherins reputation. We are great and we can show everyone that we aren't just want they make us out to be. If you see other struggle, help them if you can, when you see other Slytherins getting picked on, stand up for them. We're one house and we stand together. I hope everyone here has a great year, let's make each other and ourselves proud."
The room filled with applause and he applauded back at them. Then he looked up, saw George standing in the door frame. He got the password. He was a prefect of course he did. He smiled at Dream, who walked towards him, after the students slowly started going into their rooms or sitting down together.
"That was inspiring", George said and put his arms around Dreams neck, while the blonde hugged his waist. "Thank you", he replied softly and smiled fondly, "Was it inspiring enough for me to deserve a kiss?"
George chuckled and closed the distance between them.
"This is gonna be a great year", Dream then whispered softly and George nodded. "I think so too, love"

Starlight Antiquities
There is a place in the galaxy that deals in antiquities of all kinds, human and non-human alike. Its inventory of artifacts is colossal as is its inventory of mercs who they hire to acquire any artifact a client may wish that is yet to come into their possession. The ill-reputable business is constantly rubbing against the changing tolerance of the Union's government, and there are many security officers who would love nothing better than to vaporize the whole place with its owners inside. Yet, there are many tasks that nobody can do better, especially in the vastness of deep space where Union law is worth less than the energy needed to display it. One of its jobs involves finding an artifact that may not only hold the future of the human race but may also disturb the balance of the whole galaxy. *** While waiting for the next season of Mandalorian and the Witcher, and rewatching Firefly for the gazillionth of time, I decided to write this space-based series. The series has some litRPG elements in it, but it does not read like one. So, you won't run into any blue screens here. Yet, I wanted to use litRPG to give another dimension to this whole story and make it as unique as possible. This is a work-in-progress. Hope to keep on improving and fixing my mistakes as I go along.
