《So try and love me while you can [Zacky Vengeance]》Chapter six

I stopped off at the liquor store on my way back from dropping off Troy. The old man behind the register looked me up and down and smiled at me. His name was Fred and he was a regular at Playpen. He liked it when you made fun of his penis and called him names. I took a deep breath and went looking for the vodka. As I was checking out, two men walked in behind me. I heard them whispering and I rolled my eyes.
“Hey, you work at Playpen don’t you?” The less nasty one asked. I grabbed my booze and started to leave.
“Yes I do.” I said with a smile and tried to walk out the door. The nasty one blocked my escape.
“Why don’t you come party with us sweetheart? We’ll show you a good time.” He said.
I held back my vomit and shook my head.
“Sorry boys, but I’ve got somewhere to be. Maybe next time.” I said with a wink that made my stomach sick and I half ran to my car.
I fired it up and peeled out of there so fast it was like I robbed the place. For once, I was thankful to be home. Mom was watching TV on the couch, nursing a drink when I walked in.
“I brought you some vodka.” I told her. She grinned and jumped up.
“I knew you were good for something.” She said as she cracked it open.
I rolled my eyes and went up to my bedroom. After such a long night, I was exhausted. I collapsed on my bed and pulled the covers up. I had to work tonight, so I had to get some sleep. It didn’t take long for sleep to pull me under into the blackness.

The sounds of my mother cursing woke me up hours later.
“Where the hell are you bitch!” She shouted from the living room.
I groaned and looked at the clock.
“Shit.” I said as I shot out from my bed and ran downstairs.
I was late to pick Troy up from school. I got in my car and drove so fast, I managed to get to the school just as the kids were running out. I breathed a sigh of relief and waited for Troy to come out. He was smiling wide when he saw me. He ran over and got in the car and reached over to hug me.
“Hi Kyle!” He shouted.
I smiled and messed up his hair.
“Hey bud, how was school?” I asked as I started driving away.
“Great, guess what?” He said.
I shrugged.
“What?” He grinned and looked away.
“Today, Emma kissed me on the playground.” He said with a blush.
I smiled.
“Aw! How cute! Did you kiss her back?” I asked him.
He nodded excitedly and rolled up his sleeve. On his tiny wrist was a beaded bracelet with EJK on it. I smiled at Troy and he blushed harder.
“Aw, you’ve got yourself a girlfriend.” I told him.
He nodded and ran his fingers over the initials. I smiled and we drove in a comfortable silence the rest of the way home. It was about 4:30 so I had a few hours before I had to be at work tonight. Mom had left, probably to bother Tate some more, but I wasn’t about to track her down. Not yet anyway. Troy went right up to do his homework and I went to fix him some dinner.
After we ate and I checked his work, I had to get ready for work and to bring Troy to Shawna’s. Tonight I left my hair straight and put on a matching set of bra and panties and my fuck me heels with a simple skirt and jacket. Troy was waiting in the living room with his pajama’s already on and he was staring at the bracelet. I smiled and walked over to him.

“What should I give her?” He asked. I shrugged and sat down.
“I don’t know, what’s something that you really like?” I asked.
Troy thought about it, then ran up to his room. In a few seconds he came back down clutching something in his hands. He held it out to me and I took it. It was a stuffed pig that I gave him when he was little. He loved that little pig and never slept without it.
“Are you sure you want to give that to her?” I asked him. He nodded firmly and looked at me.
“I love her.” She said.
A tear formed in my eye and I hugged him.
“She’s a lucky girl, Troy.” I told him. He smiled and we headed off to Shawna’s.
This time, instead of Charlie waiting for us, Shawna was. I said a silent prayer and got out of the car.
“Hey Kyle.” She said with a smile. I smiled back and hugged her.
“Hey Shawna.” I said back.
Troy ducked in the house and I told Shawna about his girlfriend. After an awkward silence, I cleared my throat and stuffed my hands in my pockets.
“So, where’s Charlie?” I asked.
Shawna looked down and then up at me.
“At his place. He needed some time to think.” She said. I raised my eyebrow.
“Think? About what?” I asked. She shook her head and I knew it wasn’t my business.
“I see. Well I gotta get going. Goodnight and thanks.” I told her.
She nodded and I got in my car and headed for Playpen. Mac was waiting for me in the parking lot.
“Hey Sin, you’re on time for once.” He said with a smile. I laughed and he walked me in.
Poison was in the dressing room getting ready and I didn’t see Candie around.
“Hey babe.” Poison said when I walked in. I smiled at her and unzipped my jacket.
“Hey.” I said back.
Angelo popped his head in the door and smiled at me.
“Sin, you’ve got a request tonight.” He said with a grin.
I rolled my eyes.
“Is it Fred?” I asked. Angelo shook his head.
“No, it’s Zacky Vengeance.” He said with a wink.
I felt myself smile as walked into room number one.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

Surprisingly, in the fantasy LitRPG genre. A girls death forms the foundation for a plan centuries in the making. But when she shakes off their control, and forces the plans of beings millenia old to change, can she avoid being tied up as a loose end? With only what she could take with her in her mind, and a new body with surprising depths, she begins her new life in a world unlike her own. This is my first writing project in almost a decade, so there is going to be a lot of improvements from me as I shake off the rust. And of course, as the world I'm creating comes to life! So if you like the concept, please bear with me, and hopefully I'll reach the high standards I know you have. Edit (04/04/2018): Witness the power of my complete lack of any artistic talent! There is now cover art for this fiction. Its just barely better than the default, but hey, minimalism is in, right?

Homecoming | A Chronicles of Ascension Story
When Jethen was captured by slavers, his childhood was torn from him and left shattered half a world away. When he finds himself back home decades later, by methods he does not fully understand, he finds that the life he has lived has changed him far more than he knew. In a home he no longer knows. Places and people at the same time familiar and foreign, he must decide - stay and help with his parent's business, or return to the land that remade him and the family he made there. --------- Homecoming started as just a short story to break an episode of writers block. It has since morphed well beyond that into a novel in it's own right, and may well end up with a sequel. The writing of Homecoming became a bit of a self induced challenge to improve my initial, first brush, writing quality. Each chapter was written raw, given a once over read and edit, and then posted. In this way I am forcing myself to write better from the start. I do hope you enjoy the story and will leave a comment or review, and if you see an issue, feel free to let me know as well. I know it is not nearly perfect, and it will get a full and proper edit once I am done. Never hurts to fix things along the way though. As an additional note. The story has undergone a structural rework and has been reposted in an updated structure and sequence of chapters. If you have read this story already, I invite you to do so again in this new structure.
