《Klaroline: Capable of Love》Chapter 9

Rebekah's POV
"Rebekah!", I hear Klaus shout.
"What?", I ask.
He walks into the living room and says, "I need you to drain the vervain out of Caroline's system."
I feel a smile creep onto my lips as I say, "Don't want to hurt your precious Caroline?"
Before he can say anything I flash to the basement and grab the knifes we use to torture people. Usually we dip them in vervain, but since I am getting it out of her system, it doesn't seem like a good idea. I flash to her cell and snap her neck so I can get her ready.
I take off her shirt and shorts. I put her in some spandex and a sports bra of mine. I chain her hands above her head high enough so she is dangling off the ground. I put her hair in a bun at the top of her head and take off her shoes. Usually I don't go through all of this trouble, but I actually like Caroline a bit so I figure I might as well.
She wakes up and I say "Now darling, lets get the vervain out of your system."
She says, "No, please don't, I don't want my emotions, with them, I'm a mess. My mother died and Tyler cheated on me, please don't do this to me."
I smile and say, "The pity card won't work on me Caroline." I slice her wrists, trying to get as much blood as I can. She cries out in pain and I can hear Nik wincing upstairs.
I start stabbing her in the neck and just go crazy. I have knifes everywhere and I can barely keep control of them.
I want to see if the vervain is out of her system yet so I compel her, "Who did Tyler cheat on you with?"

She answers blankly "Hayley."
I know she could be faking so I unchain her and drink a little from her wrist, I can't taste any vervain so I compel her, "Turn your emotions on."
She closes her eyes and then opens them again. She says, "I'm so sorry for what I did.."
I cut her off, "Not your fault, it wasn't your choice to turn your emotions off." She goes in for a hug and I say, "Maybe when you are less bloody." She smiles and I toss her her clothes and she puts them on.
Klaus's POV
I hear that Caroline has her humanity back on so I head down to the basement. I let her and Rebekah talk it out. When they seem done I walk into the room. Rebekah leaves knowing that I want to speak with her privately.
I say, "Caroline", but I am cut off.
"Klaus", Caroline starts, "I did what I came here to do. You have your emotions back on so I will be returning to Mystic Falls." She tries to walk past me but I stop her.
"I owe you for getting my humanity back on, the least you can do is stay here a while and let me show you the city."
"Uh", she thinks for a moments then says, "I guess I don't really have anybody to go back to in Mystic Falls so sure why not?"
"Love, if you don't mind me asking, what do you mean you don't have anybody to go back to?"
She sighs and then says, "Well Tyler cheated on me with that slut Hayley. Then, Bonnie died saving Jeremy and my mom died of cancer." I can see tears rolling down her cheeks so I quickly step forward and wipe them away.
Before I know it, she is in my arms crying as if she hasn't cried in years. I just stroke her hair and try to let her get it all out.
I am pretty sure I hear Kol pounding down the stairs. Right when I am about to yell at him he says, "Caroline, Bonnie wants to talk to you."

Now That's Entertainment(a system apoc litrpg)
Julia Crane was an experienced police officer who'd thought she'd seen it all. When the world as she knows it ends and the games begin, she realizes she hasn't seen anything yet. Follow along through this system apocalypse style litrpg novel. Contains adult language, realistic depictions of violence, and other possible triggers. I've self published a couple of other novels, but I'm new to royal road so formating and posting schedule is up in the air until I get a handle on the site.

The Beta Test
Our nameless narrator participates in a beta test for an early VRMMO game Meridian 60. That's not the real name but it captures the spirit of the adventure given the chronological and contextual era of the game. His character is unique and special but purely for mundane reasons and not because of any inherent or social significance. The first chapter which is mandatory to submit a story on RR serves as a bit of a prologue with some exposition, although I limited that to a reasonble level. I plan to begin releasing additional chapters starting Thursday, to align with the 48 hour submission approval process and also because I have something to do Wednesday. I haven't written anything but the summary and first chapter, nor have I plotted anything out. This is because my plan is to release roughly 34000 words a day, 10 chapters of ~12.5 pages each, for 3 days at which point the story will be complete. I'd have liked to plan for more but handling the interface tables and so forth needed for a data heavy litrpg slows down the writing process. 100k words is a bit short, a standard pre epic fantasy 300 page spec fic novel, but this is mostly a writing exercise and I am considering a longer project if I can maintain the pace. Probably do a different concept, maybe a dungeon core, over 5 days, since a 500 page novel is more common these days. Slight subversion of VRMMO stories Stat heavy/crunchy No paying your bills by gaming No out of game conspiracies No angst, interpersonal drama, or damsels/dudes in distress Schedule is 30000 words a day excepting the first chapter, a limitation of RRs fiction submission system Fantasy, high magic, male lead, no party, guild, or harem No gore, some profanity, no sexual content, and no current plans for anything traumatic
