《The Alpha and I (Book 1)》9. Cici

Ash's arm is wrapped around my waist sending bolts of electricity up my spine. I smile as we walk through the doors of the infirmary. The sunlight warms my face even though the air still has its winter chill, I don't feel so cold with him stood next to me and i close my eyes to relish in the feelings I'm experiencing. When I open them again i can't help but gasp. The colors are so, vivid. I look around taking everything in. Life was so fuzzy through my human eyes but with my wolf I can see everything clearly and so much better. I stopped walking in the process. I look up and Ash's face. "Beautiful." I whisper reaching a hand up and placing it on his cheek. I hadn't really noticed how beautiful my mate was considering I met him in the middle of accepting my wolf back into my dying body. I can practically feel my wolf purring in delight. He smiles down at me and places a hand over mine.
"You don't look too bad yourself." He grins with a glint in his bright blue eyes that tells me he has the same need for me as I have for him.
I smile back. "All of these emotions are new to me." I say. "All the old Cici felt was fear." I can't help but growl at the word as more feelings swarm back. Ash growls with me. I stare into his eyes, captured by their blue colour.
I can feel my wolf nudging me to tell him. "I know about my wolf, Maya." I say, a dark seductiveness seeping into my voice. His eyes widen and he takes a step back. "A lot happened to me during my change." I say. He nods. "As you already know. I am not helpless. I am an alpha female. My true place is fighting alongside you as your Luna" I say, "but not like a normal mate, I really do mean beside you, not for you." I add. He nods.

We both stand there. I can't anticpate his next move but when it comes I am shocked. He slowly walked towards me again, I never once take away our eye contact. I almost stop breathing altogether when he bends down only an inch from me, I finally loose contact and close my eyes and he kisses me.

Hell Hath no Hoagie
Steve, a half-demon on his mother's side, must find the sandwich that will bring upon the end of times! Or at least, that's what he tells his demonic bosses. In truth, he'd much rather just hang out with his friends, a Judge who summons bunnies to maintain the balance of good and evil, a hell-knight who enjoys slaughtering said bunnies, and a tortured soul who is perpetually on fire (who would very much like to snuggle said bunnies but has been told multiple times not to). Steve was supposed to care for the antichrist, and not let the guy get addicted to MMORPGs. But Steve claims that a terrific sandwich will awaken the bloodlust in the antichrist, and so he joins his companions on a road trip to find the most delicious, most evil, most apocalyptic-inducing sandwich of all time... and maybe a taco.
