LONDON - RIDDLE MANOR

Percy spent the next few weeks packing and reading his new books. He was already quite a bit ahead of the curriculum (slacking off was never an option in the Riddle household) but he wanted to be prepared for all the things that might happen during his stay in Hogwarts.

Other than study, the boy would play quidditch with Draco. He of course will be looking to join the Slytherin quidditch team as seeker even if his father never deemed it important to do so. Joining the team would be a good chance to network and interact with others outside his own year which was important if he wanted to build his circle.

At the current moment, Perseus was in his room polishing his brand new Nimbus 2000 which his father has gave him as a birthday present when Poppy the house elf suddenly appeared.

"Master wants young lord in his office!" the elf squeaked and apparated away.

His father's office sat in the 4th floor of the manner and was a simple oval shaped room with tall heavily draped windows and dark mahogany furniture. Shelves lined one side of the wall and were filled with the rare books and tomes the Dark Lord had collected over the years. The man in question was currently bent over a huge black leather tome that had what suspiciously looked like blood smudged in some pages.

"You called for me father?" Perseus waited patiently by the door.

His father carefully closed the tome he was reading and set it aside before taking something out from one of the tables drawers that looked vaguely like a jewellery box.

"This is for Hogwarts" He explained, giving the case to Percy who eyed the boxed carefully before opening it.

Inside was a beautiful snake pendant made of emeralds and black diamonds with red rubies as eyes. The young boy was astonished, his father cared little for jewellery unless it served a purpose which he suspected it did and he was proven correct not a second later.

"If you hold it and say Ceacus, it will cast a strong invisibility spell and a notice me not charm around you. It is also a reusable portakey, just say Riddle manor and you'll be here."

Carefully closing the case, Perseus bowed his head slightly. "Thank you father, I will make sure to use it wisely."

The Dark Lord simply nodded, his expression unchanging with only a flash of pride in his eyes.

"You will do great in Hogwarts."

And then the man smiled! It was more a smirk really but hey he'll take whatever he can get.

"Now return to your room and get rest, I have actually important things to do now."

Feeling actually cheerful for once, the boy saluted and walked out the office to run back to his room with the shout of "don't run in the halls" following after him. Percy merely laughed and ran faster.
