"Genevieve I can explain"

I stare at Cameron waiting for him to continue buts he simply stares at me silently.

"Well?" I offer.

"I'm going to give Linda these contracts so she stops ears dropping outside the door and then I will tell you everything."

I stand in front of his desk as he walk passed me to the door. I hear Linda thank him she try her best seductive voice and if I had been closer my fist would have ended up in her nose. All I can think is, my mother is alive. Cameron has been hiding her from me. Has he known the whole time? Was finding Brayden just a coincidence? Argh!

Cameron makes a move to wraps his arms around me but I push him away, "Not until you explain to me. Is my mother alive?"

"Yes."

I feel myself suck in a deep breath. "How long have you known?"

"Two weeks. I hired a private investigator. He got close. Your mother contacted me so that I would call him off and not blow her cover."

"Where is she?"

"With your father."

I let out a sigh and feel myself roll my eyes, "where is that Cameron?"

"New York."

"I need to tell Bas... and Brayden."

"Genevieve please! She is worried for your safety she said it is better if you and Bas are unaware."

"But you are allowed to know everything? Hell no! That isn't fair Cameron I thought she was dead! Surely you understand to pain of losing a parent. You lost your dad Cameron. You had to learn to live without him. What if you found out he was never really dead? You should be happy right? But then you find out that he didn't come and find you. He didn't want to know you!"

"Genevieve your mum is doing this to protect you that is all she has ever wanted."

"Take me home Cameron."

"Ok I'll call Paulette and make sure dinner is ready as soon as we -"

"No. Home. To Bas. I want to go home."

"Genevieve I thought..."

"You have been lying to me. I understand why you did but I can't be with you right now so I need you to take me home."

Cameron nods. Together we leave his office and the tower in silence. I wrap my arms around him once I'm on the back of his bike and before I know it he pulls up outside my building. I unwrap myself from him and make my way to the door of my building. I feel Cameron's eyes on my as I enter the building I don't look back as I make my way up the stairs. I unlock my door and make my way to the couch.

I don't move for what feels like hours before Bas and Brayden barrel through the door.

"HONEY!" Bas's voice is loud as he stomps his way into the lounge room.

"What?" I mutter not moving my head from the couch.

Bas comes over and wraps his arms around me. "Cameron told me everything Honey. He feels horrible."

"I don't care Bas. He lied to me. So he should feel horrible."

"Kate asked him to lie Honey you can't hold it against him" Brayden offers.

"I can and I will" I say childishly.

"Why don't you hear mum out first?" Bas says quietly.

"What?" I sit bolt upright from the couch staring between my two brothers, "What the hell are you talking about?"

"After Cameron dropped you off he called mum again and explained the situation she agreed that maybe it was time to explain for herself. Cameron sent a helicopter."

"Are you trying to speak in riddles Bas? Plain English please!"

Bas and Brayden look to the door. Then as the door opens Cameron steps through followed by the one person I never thought I would see again...

"Hi Honey"

"Mum?"
