《Piece By Piece》Part 5

My alarm's light was bright against my eyes as I peered over Anthony's bare shoulders next to me. The clock read 4:32 am. I lightly shook his shoulder to wake him up. I felt bad, but I didn't want to deal with the glares and comments if we had to pass the team as they ate breakfast.
"Mm, Y/n? What time is it darling?" I smiled.
"Early, I need you to leave." He looked at me incredulously.
"Y/n, it's Four-thirty in the morning. Why must I leave now?" I shook my head. Please don't make this difficult. I want to go back to sleep.
"You just do. Get dressed." I smiled apologetically.
"This is ridiculous. Are you actually going to kick me out at 4 in the morning? What the fuck Y/n?" He glared at me in the dark. I shrugged apologetically and got up to gather his clothes off my floor, but I was harshly grabbed by the waist and ripped back down to the soft mattress. "I'm not leaving right fucking now Y/n, I'm staying until mornings comes." I glared up at him.
"It's a.m. that means morning, and you need to leave. I had a great time with you, I really did, but you have to go now." I said, sitting up once more.
"You're a fucking whore for this Y/n." I frowned.
"And you're a big bitch baby for whining about this. Get out of my house." His faced morphed into anger and he used both hands in my shoulders and shoved me back down.
"I'm going to stay here, and I will leave when I want to." I narrowed my eyes. He was getting a little too physical for my comfort. I rolled out of the bed quickly, and onto the floor. I grabbed his clothes off the floor, balled them up and threw them at him.

"Get out of my damn house Anthony. Now."
"Fuck you."
"Get out." He threw his boxers on and stood up. I watched carefully, prepared to protect myself as he dressed. Once he was fully clothed again I grabbed a sweatshirt of my own off the floor and threw it over my head, making sure to watch him the whole time. I walked towards him to show him out, and he complied, though he radiated anger. I thought it would be a civil end, until we reached the kitchen, where he spun around and grabbed me by both of my biceps, his fingers digging in until I was sure they would leave bruises. "Get off of me!" I yelled, lifting my foot up to kick him in the groin, however my foot met nothing when he side-stepped me, avoiding my kick.
"Bitch-" I was whipped around until my back was to the counter, with the edge digging into my spine. I whipped my head forward and down, my forehead making contact with his cheekbone. It fucking hurt. The back of a hand came flying toward my face, hitting the outer edge of my eye socket. My face whipped to the side, leaving me unprepared for the second fist being thrown towards my mouth. I clutched my face, leaving me vulnerable to the knee headed into my abdomen. Winded, I leaned forward, heaving for air.
A third body came it off nowhere and tackled the jackass in front of me without warning. Sounds of fists hitting flesh were heard in the dining room, and a light was flicked on. I wheezed over the counter, trying to breath, on top of that, I had to lean my head forward due to the blood filling my mouth, and dripping down my face. I looked up to see a dark haired body overtop of Anthony, fists- no. A fist, a human fist, and a robotic one, flying repeatedly into his face. I closed my eyes and raised my hands out. "Freeze," I whispered, blood bubbling out of my mouth. The room froze, time stopped. I stumbled forward, and pushed Barnes off of Anthony. The guy was a douche- I wasn't protecting him out of the good of my heart, I just figured having a man dead on the floor of the kitchen because he was my hookup gone bad would cause more problems for me than him.

I lifted him off the ground with my abilities, and had him float out the door. I turned around and prepared myself for a nice scolding from Natasha, who had turned on the light, with Tony and Steve standing behind her. I unfroze the room and waited for the harsh words to come. I looked at Barnes, who now sat on his behind, rather than on top of my apparently crazy date.
"You have poor taste in men." I look up at Natasha.
"That's never happened before," I say quietly. I don't really know what just happened. I don't even remember being hit, all I can focus on is the throbbing pain in my back. And the throbbing pain in my face, and the ache in my stomach. "I don't really know what to do." I looked at the kitchen. Through all the chaos, only one vase had been broken. "It's been so long since I've been in an actual fight, I didn't even know how to respond." The four remained silent. "I'm sorry I woke you all up." I walked over to the sink and grabbed out a dark coloured dish cloth, and wet it with warm water.
I pinched my lips together, preparing for the sting, and held the cloth to the cut around my eye. I breathed out through my nose, and counted to twenty. I turned around. Barnes had gotten up and now stood with Steve, Tony, and Natasha. "You don't need to stand there. I'm sure you all want to go back to bed." Suddenly a massive wave of pain hit me. My knees shook and black edges creeped far into my vision. "What time is it?" I spoke shakily. My ribs felt like they were being crushed from the inside out, and my upper spine felt like it was collapsing under the weight of my head. Nobody responded, so I looked at the clock on the microwave. 5:30?

The Psysword Chronicles (HIATUS)
"Definitely above average. You've woven in enough goodness in the first 5 chaps to warrant a deeper dive." -RaccoonMage "A well written Isekai." -TaxReligion "When I saw it was an isekai I expected the same old tropes. And, while the main character was indeed transported to fight the main villain, that is as far as the main tropes go[...] I was pleasantly surprised." -doravg "[T]his novel has lot of good things going on for it[...] I can see this becoming one of top tier novels on this site." -Crow3r A fantastical world called the Ecumene. The Apocalypse Show - Dungeon Core
There were lot's of ways that people had predicted that the world would end. A few even had it partially correct. But how could they have predicted it would be a combination of the system apocalypse and aliens. Specifially aliens that wanted to create the equivlant of a TV show about the system apocalypse on Earth. Arthur woke up with a headache and the option to create a character. Most people would have gone with the safe choice and selected to stay a human. Arthur suspected that wouldn't be the safe choice in his new world. Instead he decided to see what other races were available. Eventually he decided to become a dungeon core instead. Of course being a dungeon core comes with a number of challenges. Starting with the fact that he was a giant crystal instead of having a body, managing a bunch of unintelligent minons, and most importantly the reaction of his human neighbors when they discover him. If he can overcome these challenges he may be able to enjoy some of the benefits. Such as the fact that dungeon cores are immortal and he would eventually have an entire army of dungeon minions that would obey any of his commands. Perhaps even find some female companions that are looking for a safe place during the apocalypse. Warning: If this fiction was a movie I'd rate it R for occasional scenes of violence, gore, nudity, and sexual content. This isn't something you would find in the young adult section. This does not mean that this would be rated NC-17 or X, if that is what you are looking for try lewd dungeon.
