︎ his blue lakeside eyes, that the

poets can't get quite enough of,

his dimpled smile, that artists

paint alongside red roses,

and literature loves his lies,

waging wars, heinous crimes.

☾︎ handsome boys in this town

slay throats and frolick around,

but the way the strand of his

hair dimly falls on his svelte face

makes the prosecutor lose sense

of the day, & all that is done slowly fades.

☾︎ and the handsome boys grow up

to be such bold men, penance &

salvation pelted below them,

they're kneading threads of history

into the mark of their glory,

and they'll be written in the

poetry of centuries to come,

when handsome boys with beautiful faces are dead and will never return.

a/n : this is a fictional world where people are overly vain and look to looks as one of the driving factors of their judgements. I thought this would be an interesting concept to venture into, because of the way it might affect the history of these people as well as the morals and laws by which they live.
