I woke to a start when I heard the snap of a twig. My head whipped around as I searched for the one to blame. I slowly stood to my feet, not hearing any more sounds of movement. I calmed down from my panic and turned to look back at the ocean but screamed when I saw a person in front of me. I instantly dropped down and whimpered loudly, submitting. The person reached down to me and grabbed my arm, pulling me up but I still kept my head bowed down in respect.

"Raise your head," the man ordered and I obeyed and lifted my head up to look at him. He was about 6'2, with brown hair and red at the edges of his hair, blue eyes and he stunk of a fox. He was probably one of the males that came with the other foxes. Meaning he was either the beta or the alpha. From his scent, I could tell he wasn't the alpha so he must have been the beta but he did have an alpha sort of aura. His words snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Who are you? What are you doing out here alone? You could be attacked by rogues this close to the border," he said with his voice full of actual concern. I looked at him confused then cleared my throat to respond.

"I am Lynn. I ran off because I was told it was too dangerous for me to be home right now. I'm the pack omega and-"

"Are you kidding me? I got stuck with a fucking omega? Out of everyone in the world, I get a wolf omega?" the male suddenly exclaimed and he didn't seem to be talking to me which freaked me out more. He seemed to be yelling at the sky. I took a step back fast in case he was to attack me and I whimpered loudly. I didn't know what to do because he just kept yelling about it. I don't understand what he even meant when he said he got "stuck" with an omega. The male suddenly turned back to me and sighed.

"Alright well, I'm Luca. I'm the beta of the royal clan of foxes. I'm here visiting of course. Now tell me about yourself since I'm going to be stuck with you for the rest of our lives unless I choose someone else," Luca said to me then sat down cross-legged in front of me. I followed his action and looked up at him.

"I-I don't get it... What do you mean you're going to be stuck with me? Did-did I do something wrong? Is it because I refused the other?" I asked. I wanted answers as soon as possible. A snarl sounded from Luca that made me duck away and bow down in fear.

"What other? What did you refuse?" He asked through clenched teeth as if struggling to get the words out.

"Another fox. My alpha told him I was his to do whatever he wanted to me. I refused because I didn't want it. I'm sorry! Please, I'm sorry. I'll repay you I promise. Don't blame my alpha please he's an amazing guy I'm sorry," I rambled on to save my own life, thinking he was going to kill me for disobeying the other fox who was probably his brother. Luca snarl only grew when he heard me and he got up fast, spray sand. He grabbed my arm and pulled me up roughly, dragging me as he started walking. Panic settled in my mind and I tried to pull away.

"No no no no, please! Please stop! Please no no he'll kill me!" I yelled out as I fought against Luca but he dropped me after hearing me. I fell to the ground, tears rolling down my cheeks and sobs racking my chest. I slowly looked up to meet the other males eyes and to my surprise, he looked concerned and worried about me. I sniffled and froze when I suddenly felt the other male bend down and hug me. Without thinking, I hugged back to him and closed my eyes. I took in the male's scent and for some reason, it calmed me down. I stopped crying and pulled away slowly.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled softly, still scared to raise my voice. Luca sighed softly and hugged me tighter.

"No, I am. My anger got the best of me. Now come," he said as he got up and pulled me up with him. He pulled me gently out of the forest and started to head towards the castle. This time I didn't fight because something inside of me told me he was going to do good with me. He wasn't going to hurt me. I don't know why or understand why my brain was telling me this but I trusted it. We walked into the castle without knocking and he leads me to the throne room. I started to drag my feet and I whimpered. This room smelled strongly of alpha and I hated it. As soon as we stepped into the room, I lowered my head and never met anyone's eyes. I could smell 2 other foxes in the room including Blake and I could smell Zeek and Zack there as well. Luca stopped in the middle of the room and it caused everyone to turn their attention to him. I could hear a snarl and instantly knew it belonged to my alpha. Zeek stood up but Zack stepped in front of him as if protecting me from Zeek. Another snarl sounded and I glanced up to see it came from Blake but the other fox stayed silent.

"Luca what are you doing bringing an omega here?" asked the silent fox that had white blonde hair and amber coloured eyes. His hair was long and flowed down his back but 2 parts were in a long braid. His hair flowed down to his lower back. It was something I had never seen before around. I had heard that there were foxes that grew their hair out as a sign of their age or them being an alpha but I had never actually seen it.

"Augustus, Blake made advances towards this omega, treating it as if its worthless and doesn't deserve anything in life. He treated it like-"

"That is how we treat him. He is our weakest omega so he gets treated however we want him to," Luca was interrupted by Zeek telling him how they treat me. Luca stared at Zeek in disbelief.

"So you treat him inhuman because he's weaker than you?"

"Luca we do not question King Zeek's way of ruling. It's up to him, not us. Now go put the omega back where you found him and leave him be," Augustus responded to his younger brother before a fight broke out between Zeek and Luca. Luca snarled loudly then looked down at me. I dropped down into submission and whimpered loudly, unsure of what to do.

"Don't worry about that worthless omega. I'll send some guards to grab him and take him back to where he stays. Back to his rathole. He's lucky I even pay for him to stay there," Zeek said about me and I just nodded to him slowly as I heard guards approaching. A snarl sounded and soon I felt something standing over me. I glanced up and was shocked to see that it was Luca as a brown fox standing over my crouched body, snarling dangerously. I stayed put as the guards backed away from me and Luca without a second thought. I was being protected. For some reason, it made me very happy to have someone protecting me. Zeek snarled in response to Luca protecting me.

"Fine. Luca, you can take him back. He lives at the far end of town," Zeek told Luca but Luca growled again.

"He stays with me in the castle as my guest-"

"You are my guest! You can't just invite your own guest in!"

"I can if he's my mate and he belongs to me!" Luca ordered strictly with a roar. Everyone's eyes were wide in shock, including mine. I slowly looked up at Luca who was still in his wolf form with an angry face. Augustus looked towards Zeek and cleared his throat.

"I'm sorry Zeek but if he is my brother's mate then I agree they should be together. At least until Luca decides to reject him or not," Augustus said in his brother's defence. Zeek glared at Augustus then sighed with a growl.

"He can stay for 3 days at most. If he's not marked and mated by then, he leaves and you never see him again," ordered Zeek who left with Zack before getting a response. Augustus nodded and left after them with Blake following. Soon it was just me and Luca in the throne room alone. Luca jumped off me and shifted to his human form.

"Come," he ordered me and pulled me up, pulling me out of the room. He pulled me to the room he was staying in and he shut the door, locking it. He let me go and gestured for me to sit down so, on impulse, I sat down on the ground. Luca sighed but still sat across from me.

"So you're my mate? But I don't feel anything," I said without thinking. But I needed to know. I need to know if he was lying to protect me or not.

"Yes, you're my mate. I followed your scent when I was on a run and I found you in the sand. You don't feel anything or smell anything different because you're an omega. The only way for you to notice would be if I and you were to be mated and mated or to have at least kissed. Of course, I'm disappointed in finding out you're an omega but there's nothing I can do about that. I just wish you weren't an omega. Would make my life a whole lot easier. Why don't you tell me what this pack has done to you? Tell me everything Lynn," Luca told me and I stopped. I instantly started to panic. I started thinking about how if I told him about all the times I'd been raped, he'd probably reject me on the spot. He wouldn't want someone that was all used up so I shook my head to him.

"I'm sorry but I don't want to say. I'm not comfortable with it," I told him and flinched as I expected to be slapped for denying him what he wanted but instead I just felt a soft hand rub my cheek. I opened my eyes slowly and stared straight into Luca's blue eyes. I leaned into his hand slightly and closed my eyes. Luca sighed softly and I could feel him move until I felt a sudden strong warmth press against my forehead. I opened my eyes to see that Luca had moved closer to me and had pressed his forehead to mine.

"Alright you don't have to say anything don't worry about it," he reassured me in a soft and kind voice. A smile grew on my lips and I let out a content sigh. I wasn't being hurt and for once I felt calm and protected. I looked at Luca and Luca never took his eyes off of me.

"You know you got really pretty eyes. Like purple eyes is very unusual Your glasses are disgusting though. You gotta get them cleaned up," Luca commented and laughed softly I looked away and took off my glasses to clean them but Luca just took them from me and decided to clean them himself. It was blurry but I tried to watch him. I heard him grumble then watched his blurred out shape walk off then back in front of me. He put my glasses back on me and they were properly clean.

"I'm going to do something. Don't freak out," Luca told me and I nodded to him, giving him permission.

Luca slowly cupped my cheek again and leaned in, pressing his lips to mine, kissing me in a tender soft way. My first kiss ever.
