It's been a while since we've had fun, gone on a date. Shawn asked me to go to a Toronto maple leaves and due to my love for sports, I couldn't decline.
I know, it's not smart when you're eighteen, in college and live six hours away from Toronto.
But Shawn insisted.
Not to mention he already bought the tickets without asking. And Aaliyah really wanted me to go with her.
I put my everyday makeup on, a jean jacket with my alien sweater under and black skinny jeans with rips in the knees.
I hear my door squeak open and Shawn walk through.
"Babe we've got a long drive ahead." Shawn begins. "Well, it's a good thing we got butt warmers, it's snowing a blizzard out there." I say.
"No I mean is your phone charged and are you bringing any books?" He asks. "Duh. You of all people know I bring books everywhere." I giggle.
I grab my Harry Potter book and my phone off my bedside table and trudge through my dorm door and through the dormitory. I hear girls whispering about how Shawn Mendes was in the building and smile.
I mean, who wouldn't notice this hunky sweetheart. Shawn intertwines his hand with mine and smiles warmly at me.
I climb in the passenger seat of his black jeep and look back, seeing Aaliyah smiling at me. "Hi Amanda." A confused look covers my face as I glare at Shawn. "Why'd you drag Aaliyah all the way to Montreal just to pick me up?" I ask him.

"I dunno. She wanted to come?" He smiles awkwardly. I roll my eyes, opening my book and reading.
After many trips to TimHortons and pee breaks I see the sign reading "entering Toronto" and whatnot.
"Finally!" I hear Aaliyah yell. "I feel like I've been trapped in a tin box for like ten hours." He exclaims. I chuckle.
"Alright so the game tomorrow is at two so we've got today and a little of tomorrow to blow off. Amanda, you can stay with me at my apartment." Shawn tells me. "Sweet." I reply.
*
We pull up into the parking lot and see a huge line of people dressed in Toronto maple leaves jerseys and huge foam fingers. "Here we come."
We sit close to the penalty box. I've had 3 sticks of cotton candy already and lots of iced tea. Shawn's been saying hi to a few fans here and there and I've gotten to take pictures of them together.
Aaliyah's been telling me all about her latest hockey tournament and how she got a lot of points for her team. Shawn's been asking me about how college is. I've told him about how crazy my roommates are and how they're all party animals.
Shawn got a free maple leaves jersey that says Mendes. I watch as happiness covers his face and he smiles at me.
"I want you to wear it." He tells me, smiling. "Shawn, it says Mendes and they gave it to you." I tell him, giving it back.
"But your last name is gonna be Mendes some day." Shawn pecks my cheek.
"Amanda Mendes... sounds bad." I say, looking at the ground. "I think it sounds great." Aaliyah says. "Well thanks Liyah." I smile at her. "Take the jersey babe." Shawn tells me.
I remove my jacket and throw the large blue jersey over my sweater. Shawn smirks as he looks at me with the jersey.
"What?" I ask him biting down on my lip.
"You just look really cute in my clothes."
