Zane wakes up, hitting his head on the top bunk of the bed.
"Oh, sleeping in. You're gonna be late for training" Jay said
"Oh, how come no one awakened me?" Zane questioned
Aria climbed down from her bed "We didn't think you wanted us to. You looked like you were having a dream"
Zane looked around "How do I know this isn't a dream—"
Zane gets hit in the face with a pillow by Cole "Does that feel like a dream?"
"No. Thank you for your help" Zane said and they laughed
They go on the deck.
"Hehe. Little slow today, huh? What exactly did you dream about?" Kai asked
"I saw the Falcon again" Zane replied
"Whoa. Zane, every time you see that bird, something big happens. First, it lead you to the secret tree house" Jay said
"Then it lead you to the Bounty" Cole added
"guys sensei's here, pay attention" Aria scolded as Wu walked out
"All right. Stretches. First, the Swooping Crane" Wu faces away from the Ninja to demonstrate a stretch.
Zane whispered "This time, it showed me the Green Ninja"
"The Green Ninja?" Cole, Jay, and Kai exclaimed a bit too loudly
Wu looked back to see the three in different poses "That looks like the Shocked Monkey. Bad form, more focus" He, again, faces away.
"You can't just drop a bomb like that. Spill the beans" Jay whispered
"Yeah, what else did you see?" Kai asked still whispering
"He was fighting Lord Garmadon" Zane whispered
"That's what the prophecy said. That the Green Ninja would defeat the Dark Lord. But did you have a chance to see which one of us was him?" Kai whispered
"I could not tell. He shared attributes each of us possess" Zane whispered
"Stop saying he like you know for sure it's a guy" Aria said annoyed
"Now, Pinching Crab" Wu instructed and they changed poses.
Kai looked at Zane "Well, tell us everything. And don't spare any details. There has to be a clue that tells us which one of us is gonna be the Green Nin—" Wu pulls on his hair "Ow, ow, ow! Hey!"
"What was so important to ignore my teachings?" Wu asked
"Uh, nothing" Kai said
''It was nothing, Sensei" Jay said
"Yeah, we don't talk while you teach" Cole said

"Everyone was paying attention" Zane said
Aria rolled her eyes "they were talking about the green ninja"
The 4 boys gave her a look and Wu sighed "since you 4 appear to be lacking in focus, then you 4 can all share in the punishment"
"What, 4?!" Kai shouted
"Punishment?" Jay questioned
"It was all Zane" Cole blamed
Zane shrugged "I was merely answering their questions"
"No free time and no video games. The rest of the day can be used for training. And tomorrow, for that matter" Wu commanded
"Training? For how long?" Kai asked
"Until you can answer this simple riddle: what is the best way to defeat an enemy?" Wu replied
"Easy, with a sword" Kai answered
"Your fists" Jay answered
"Spinjitzu" Cole answered
"Tornado of Creation?" Zane answered
Wu sighs "Pace yourselves. You have a lot of training ahead of you. Make sure you sharpen your mind as well as your Spinjitzu. Come with me Aria" He walks away.
"Aria you're so mean calling us out like that" Cole said
Aria stuck her tongue out at them "Can't outsmart me boys, see ya"
Aria followed Wu inside.
"I found a scroll I believe your father had left for you" Wu said taking it out
Aria shook her head "I don't wanna see it, I am blocking that man from my life"
Wu sighed "Aria whether you want to believe it or not he is your father, but you didn't chose the same path as him, and I am proud of you for that. I believe that one day you can look past this and realize your true potential"
Wu walked away leaving the scroll with her. Aria picked up the scroll and stared at the symbol on it. She just sighed and went to her room that she shared with the other ninja. She jumped into her bed and drifted off to sleep.
-
Aria is awoken by the alarm blaring. She ran into the bridge where the others were.
"Break it down for me, sis" Kai said
"Lloyd and a Serpentine have overtaken Darkley's Boarding School for Bad Boys" Nya informed them
"That place is cesspool for the crooked and the misbehaved" Jay said
"Hey you know I went there" Aria said "and it doesn't mean that they don't need our help"

Zane pushes the button to fly.
"Ninja, go!" the 5 ninja shouted
The Ninja arrive.
"Looks quiet down there. Should we infiltrate using stealth?" Zane questioned
"Ah, we've done that. What about using our Golden Weapons that turn into our vehicles?" Kai suggested
"I'm still working out the kinks on that. Anyone have any other good ideas?" Cole asked
"can't think of any" Aria replied
"Hmm. Well, I have one idea, but you guys gotta trust me" Jay said
"no" Aria said making and x with her hands
The Ninja stand on the anchor.
"You guys are aware that I'm afraid of heights right?" Aria questioned holding onto Kai
"Jay, I don't know about this" Kai said
"Just hold on tight!" Jay signals Nya to drop the anchor.
Everyone screams as the anchor falls. Lloyd and Pythor dodge the descending anchor as it crashes through the roof all the way down to the ground floor. The ninja cough once they reached the ground.
"Let's never do that again" Aria said patting the dust off her
Cole lifts his Scythe up at the students, making them whimper. Fortunately, he only cuts their rope "Stay out of school, kids. Well, well, well. Kruncha and Nuckal. Substitute teachers, eh? If we cut you down, we better not catch you hang around Ninjago again. Or else." they nod and he frees them and they run off.)
Kai looks up to see Lloyd "He's on the top floor. Let's get him."
Zane and Kai Spinjitzu up the stairs, Cole climbs on the anchor chain, and Jay takes the elevator.
"Are they all stupid" Aria mumbled to herself and goes outside the building "it's obvious the place is boobytrapped so while Lloyd and the snake are busy with those 4 idiots I can climb the side of the building easily"
Meanwhile Zane and Kai gets stuck in slime-like object. Pythor and Lloyd laughs. Lloyd sees Cole coming after him, while Jay is trying to keep himself awake in the elevator.
"Prepare to eat dust" Cole said before Pythor pulls on a rope, making dust fly everywhere and Cole coughs. Jay finds him in his condition "He's got a Serpentine with him. Watch out for booby traps!"
Lloyd runs around in a circle "They're coming. They're coming. They're coming!"
Pythor barricades the door but Jay manages to break it open "Shocked to see me?"
Aria jumps onto the roof next to Jay
"good to see you kiddo" Jay said
"At least one of you made it up here" Aria said getting in a fighting stance with Jay
"Do something!" Lloyd shouts and Pythor takes the map. "Wh-what are you doing? I thought you were my friend."
"All you wanted was to make the Serpentine your slave. Well, sorry, my dear boy, I have other plans" Pythor disappears.
Lloyd tries to escape but can't. He gulps after seeing how high he is from the ground. Wu and Nya arrive on the Destiny's Bounty.
"Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon, you come here right now" Wu commanded
"I got him" Jay throws Lloyd on his shoulder and brings him to Wu with Aria following them laughing
"Whoa! Hey, let me go! This is humiliating!" Lloyd shouted avoiding looking at Aria
"What should we do with him? Wash his mouth out with soap for a year?" Cole suggested
"Ground him indefinitely?" Kai questioned
"Have him sit in a corner for a century?" Zane joked
"I know exactly what we must do" Wu said and Lloyd gulps.
-
It is now nighttime. Everyone is back at the Destiny's Bounty. Master Wu is reading a story to Lloyd, who is lying on Master Wu's bed. The 5 Ninja stand on the doorway, watching the scene with angry looks on their faces.
"And that is why Jack the Rabbit never trusts a snake. The end." Wu finished the story
"Oh, if my dad had read me that book, I would never have made that mistake. I'm sorry, uncle" Lloyd said
"Oh, you do not need to apologize. I am sure that if your father was still here, it would be the first book he'd read. Good night, nephew. Sweet dreams." Wu said getting up
"Good night, uncle" Lloyd said closing his eyes as Wu closed the door
"I don't get it, Sensei" Kai said
"Why isn't the little brat getting punished?" Jay questioned
"Yeah, we had to train all day and he gets read a bedtime story? It's not fair" Cole complained
"Because you are idiots, he is a 10 year old kid" Aria said
"I nearly forgot. Why are you not still training? Did you find the answer to the riddle?" Wu asked
Kai sighs "No, Sensei. We still don't know what the best way to defeat your enemy is"
The male Ninja slowly walk away whilst hanging their heads.
"It's to make them your friend" Aria answered
Wu chuckled "right again you are"
"Oh" the ninja all smile watching Lloyd sleep peacefully
"Creeps" Aria mumbled
"Aria!" The ninjas shouted annoyed and she laughed

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
