《The End》Part 2: Road Trip

Rosalina woke up with a pounding head ache and no memory of what happened after her talk with Jeremy. This wasn't new for Rosa, but definitely a reminder of why she stopped drinking all the time.
She went to go see if Elena was awake yet to thank her for most likely helping her get home, but Elena was already gone. Typical.
She walked downstairs and was pleasantly surprised to see all of Alaric's stuff gone. Rosa knew it was mean, but it meant she could maybe have one night where she didn't fall asleep thinking that her dead aunts ex-boyfriend is sleeping on their couch.
After a while Rosalina decided to go to the mystic grill for lunch and to visit her brother. He said something about going there today.
When she got there she saw Matt and Tyler, but no Jeremy. She sighed and sat down at the table she always goes to. The one in the back corner where no one bugs her.
Nothing was happening all day. Elena was off with Damon and Alaric, Jeremy was hanging out with Matt all day, Rosa wasn't really friends with Bonnie and Caroline, but she hadn't seen them anyways. What she really wanted was to talk to Jenna. Just one more time.
Rosalina pulled out a notebook and began to write,
Dear Jenna,
Haven't seen you in a while and I really miss you. So, an update on everything seems to be in order. Stefan still hasn't come back and I don't think Elena's doing to great, but she's been spending a lot of time with Damon which I guess is good. Jeremy has been good to. He's handling everything really well and so is Elena. Sometimes I think I'm the only one in the family who handles death as it is. The end. Anyways, that's all the latest news. Can't wait to see you hopefully soon.
Bye,
Rosa(you're favorite niece)
✰
"Where were you all day?" Rosa asked as she walked into Elena's room, seeing that Damon had just left it.
"Me and Ric went on a hike." She lied. Rosa rolled her and frowned. "What?"
"Why are you always lying to me?"
"No ones lying to you. You're so paranoid."
"Are you kidding me Lena, you always stop your conversations when I walk into the room, or you always catch yourself and come up with some bogus excuse. Like yesterday when you were talking to Tyler about Damon almost dying." Elena looked worriedly around her room, refusing to meet her sisters eyes.
"I didn't lie."
"Oh yeah, then what did Damon hurt when he almost died and you had to bring him to the hospital?"
"He uhm...uhm. He broke his neck."
"I never saw him in a cast."
"He's a quick healer." Elena now reached Rosalina's eyes which were staring back at her. The girls were caught in a staring contest before Elena finally broke. "Just go back to your room Rosa. How about we go back to when neither of us cared about each others lives. Ok?"
"Fine whatever. Sorry for trying to get to know my twin sister." Rosa said before storming out of the room, purposely slamming the door. Elena sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. She knew she had to either get better at lying or figure out a solution to all of this.

Rosa woke up to the sound of Elena shouting at Damon at 6 in the morning. She groaned and pulled the blanket over her head, hoping they would be quiet.
"Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. What? What are you talking about? Where is he?" Elena asked excitedly.
"Windy city."
"He's in Chicago? Well, how do you know?" Elena asked.
"It came to me in a dream. I was naked. You would have loved it. Start packing." He said.
"Will you two shut up!" Rosa screamed from her bedroom. Damon smirked.
"Ooh, the other twins angry." Elena rolled her eyes as she got up. "Can she come?"
"No! Why would you even want her too?"
Damon shrugged and went to snoop through Elena's stuff. "Curiosity. I've known you for about 2 years and barley know anything about your other half. Like can she pull off these like you can?" Damon said as he holds up a pair of Elena's underwear. She walked over to him and grabbed the underwear and put it back in her draw.
"No, she's not coming. It could be dangerous. Plus she doesn't know about vampires."
"Please." Damon mumbled. "It'd be so fun."
"No." Damon smirked at Elena before rushing out of the room.
"Hey lesser twin, we're going on a road trip. Get up." Rosa rolled her eyes and looked at Damon angrily.
"I told you to stop calling me that and no."
"Yes come on. Let's go find Stefan."
"I am not coming with you to track down your dramatic brother." Damon smirked at Rosa before walking over to her drawers. "Damon get the hell away from my underwear." Damon put his hands up in surrender and pouted.
"Get ready we're leaving as soon as you girls can put on your makeup." Rosa scoffed, but did as he said. She wasn't sure why, all she knew was yesterday she was bored out of her mind. Today she wouldn't be.
The three of them were sitting in Damon's car as they drove on the highway. Elena and Damon in the front, Rosa in the back. She didn't mind. It meant she wasn't forced to talk to them.
" I sure hope we find him, 'cause it would suck if the last memento of Stefan was that crappy old necklace." Damon said. Rosa looked at Elena and sighed.
"Lena, are you seriously still wearing that necklace. Take it off. Don't be even more of a clingy girlfriend than you already are...or I guess ex-girlfriend." Damon smirked as Elena frowned. He loved witnesses the occasional twin fights.
"It's an antique, Damon. Like you."
"I thought you were only in your 20s." Rosa said. Damon looked at her and nodded.
"Your dear sister thinks that's old. Like the nerve of this girl." Elena mouthed the words thank you to Damon which Rosa did not miss, but she didn't feel like bringing it up.
After a while it got boring again. Elena was reading Stefans very detailed diary and Damon was making occasional side comments.
After the long car ride they finally arrived in what was apparently Stefans new or old apartment. Rosa was very confused considering she thought Stefan was only 18 or something.
"Stefan could live anywhere in Chicago and he chose this?" Elena asked.
"I can't imagine it's easy to buy a good apartment when your 18 without a high school diploma a job or money." Elena nodded, once again forgetting that Rosa was oblivious to the fact that supernatural creatures exist. She was really wishing Damon didn't invite her sister, it made no sense to bring her to something like this. It could ruin everything.

"There used to be an all-girls high school around the corner, but it shut down for attendance issues. Weird." Damon said.
"If you're trying to scare me into giving up and going back, it's not going to work."
"If that's supposed to scare us, then nothings really that scary is it?" Rosa added. Elena smirked slightly which made Damon roll his eyes.
"Shh." Damon said as he put his index finger against his lips. Everyone went silent and Damon suddenly broke the lock to Stefans door. Rosalina stared at him in shock at how he was able to do that so easily, but he just shrugged it off. "Here we are. Stefan's second personality home."
"He obviously hasn't been here." Elena said as they looked around.
"Tours is not over yet." Damon walked over to the refrigerator and to the wall next to it. He put his hand on the edge of the panel and pulls revealing a dark back room. He switches on the light to show she shelves of alcohol.
"Stefan hid his alcohol. What a monster."
"Damon is this supposed to scare us?" Rosa asked sarcastically. He smirked and then turned to Elena, leaving Rosalina out of the conversation. She continued to walk around leaving the two of them to talk. Once Rosa was out of ear shot Damon and Elena continued there conversation.
"Look harder." He said. Elena did as he said and sees a long list of names. Starting with Giuseppe Salvatore.
"It's a list of names." Elena whispered so Rosa wouldn't hear her.
"Mm-hmm."
"These are all his victims?" She asked in a sadder tone.
"Still handling it?" Damon asked, referring to one of his and Elena's earlier conversations.
"What were you doing in the 1920s? Paving the way for women's liberation?" Elena asked sarcastically. Rosa eyes them, carefully. Wondering what they were being so secretive about.
"I was around. Chicago's a big city. Stefan was a cocky ripper douche. But I could avoid him and still indulge in a few Daisy Buchanans of my own." Rosa watched as Elena gave Damon a disgusted look, while he seemed proud of whatever he had just said.
"Where are you going?"
"His old stomping ground."
"We're coming with you." Elena said motioning to Rosalina who was sitting in a chair, bored out of her mind.
"No. You two stay here and whip up an actual plan. I'll come back when I find him." Damon said before leaving.
✰
Damon had been gone for a few hours now. Rosalina was still sitting in the chair staring at her phone. She couldn't get any signal to even text Jeremy. Elena was on Stefans bed reading his diary.
"You know, it's great that you and Stefan fell in love, but this is gonna end up killing you." Rosa said. Elena looked at her sister, sadly. Remembering how she had almost died, so had Jeremy. And Jenna and Uncle John did die all because she fell in love with Stefan.
"I'm fine."
"You don't have to be fine Lena. How about we go home, get you some ice cream, watch tv and you can cry for a little while and then after you grieve about it, you can find some else who you'll fall in love with." Rosa had a soft comforting smile on her face. Even Elena was shocked by this. Her and Rosalina barely even got along, they definitely didn't comfort each other after breakups.
"Rosa, just leave me alone ok. I didn't even want you to come. Plus you wouldn't understand, you've never had a boyfriend. So please just go back to sitting quietly by yourself until Damon comes back." Rosalina stared at her sister angrily.
"I was just trying to help. I don't need to have had a boyfriend to see that this...this is pathetic Elena. You drove all the way to Chicago to see a guy who left you. So maybe you should stop judging me for like 2 seconds and realize how crazy this is." The girls looked at each other, neither knowing what to say after that. They just went back to being silent.
Elena and Rosalina never got along great, but they were still sisters and still friends. That hasn't changed, but ever since their parents died, they've gotten worse. They can't be in the same room together for more than a couple of hours without fighting.
Suddenly there is a noise and Elena jumps off the bed and drags herself and Rosalina into the hidden room. Rosa looked at her sister, fear filling her eyes. Elena held her finger to her lips, showing Rosa to be quiet.
"What a charming little homestead. Do you feel that? Is anybody in here?" The girls heard the voice of a British accent and remained as quiet as possible.
"It's been vacant for decades. People must break in all the time. Why'd you bring me here?" Rosa did recognize that voice. Stefan Salvatore. She looked at her sister, who seemed to be trying to listen to their conversation.
"Your friend, Liam Grant, the one who drank his wife's blood...I never could figure out why you wanted his name. And then you told me your little secret. It was all part of your special little ritual." Rosa looked at her sister in fear, but she was staring at a list of names on the wall.
"To write it down." Stefan said. Rosa had to force herself to stay quiet, despite her better judgment which was to freak out.
"And relive the kill...over and over again." The British voice spoke again. Rosa shut her eyes, attempting to blink away the tears that formed in her eyes. Suddenly the door began to open and Elena squished the two of them into the corner as best they could to hide themselves. "You believe me now." He said.
Stefan walks into the room and looks surprised to see the girls hiding in the corner. Elena and Stefan lock eyes for a moment, hope filling Elena's. Stefan watched her for a moment, until her hears the other man come back in.
"Look what I found." Rosa looks at Elena scared, but she continues to stare at Stefan. Stefan picks up a bottle and gives it to the man. "1918. Single malt." He said.
"My favorite. Let's go find someone to pair it with."
