《The End》Part 9: Little Brat
Advertisement
It's been a few days since the homecoming disaster and Rosalina's strange encounter with Klaus. Currently she was sitting in the mystic grill with Bonnie and Elena. Elena said she really wanted Rosa to start becoming friends with her friends. Rosa wasn't sure why, but she agreed anyways.
"I feel like I'm going crazy. Totally paranoid all the time." Elena said.
"You have a right to be. Klaus is still out there and he knows you tried to kill him." Bonnie responded. Rosa stayed silent for most of this conversation, knowing anything she said wasn't very relevant and rarely contributed to the conversation.
"Why hasn't he made a move? There has been no sign of him. Nothing. Just my slow spiral of insanity." Elena said and Rosa nodded in agreement. Rosalina had still been having a really hard time adjusting to this new life of vampires and witches and werewolves, but she couldn't just make this about herself when her brother and sister have been going through all of this stuff for the past year and somehow kept it from her. Rosa knows that Jeremy and Elena were trying to protect her so she couldn't be mad at them, right?
"Join the club. Every time I close my eyes, I have that nightmare. On repeat." Bonnie told them.
"The same dream?"
"Yeah! Four coffins, Klaus is in one of them. It's weird."
"What if it's not just some dream? What if it's like...you know...witch dream?" Rosa looked at her sister, confused at her explanation. Bonnie seems confused as well, but just shrugged it off.
"It's just stress. I'll figure it out. And what about Stefan? Has there been any sign of him?" Rosa watched her sister carefully for a response. Rosa had wanted to ask Elena about Stefan, but was to afraid to make her sister upset.
"He betrayed us Bonnie. The Stefan that we know is gone."
"How is Damon handling it?"
"Damon is...Damon."
✰
After a while, Bonnie decided to leave and Elena was busy trying to call Jeremy. Ever since he and Bonnie broke up he started going back to his old habits. He hasn't been talking to anyone really, not even Rosa. She was pretty sure he was hanging out with Tyler right now, which confused her even more. When had they become friends?
"Jeremy, the minute that you get this call me!" Elena shouted into her phone. She hung up the phone and both girls turn to Damon who just got a bullseye. "Unbelievable!" Elena said again which brought Rosa back to focus.
"You are feisty when you are mad." Damon said.
"It's not that I'm mad. I'm just—I'm worried." Elena told him. Damon obviously doesn't know what it's like to be a good sibling because he didn't seem to care much in Rosa's opinion.
"But why? He lost his job at the Grill. He can survive, Elena." Damon said and Rosa and Elena rolled there eyes in unison.
"He is spiraling. Ever since Bonnie broke up with him, he is moody, he is not really talking to anyone."
"It's typical teenager." Damon told her.

"Who's seeing ghosts and has lost everyone he cares about." Rosa agreed but she couldn't help but think, he would still have Bonnie if he wasn't a complete idiot.
"Not everyone. He's still got the twinsies." Damon said pointing to Elena and Rosa. Damon starts shooting his darts again. When he gets back from the dart board Elena and Damon start talking, or more like flirting.
"You ok?" She asked him.
"What makes you think I'm not ok?"
"Well, you're day drunk. It's not exactly your most attractive look."
"Hmm, what is my most attractive look?" Damon asked moving closer to Elena. Rosa gagged at the sight. She loved her sister, but Rosa did not like Damon. Elena and Stefan were perfect together and the whole point of practically everything that's happened in the past weeks was to get Stefan back. Nowhere in that plan is there room to Damon and Elena to be flirting.
"Ah, ah, I'm not saying you have any attractive looks. I'm saying this is my least favorite one..." Rosa wanted to leave so badly, but Elena was her ride. Rosa knew Elena had feelings for Damon that she wouldn't admit to herself. She's had them for a while and they've only been growing since Stefan left. Rosa hated it, but she wasn't going to stop her sister from this obvious mistake. If she wants to date Damon that's her mistake and she's gonna have to be the one to tell Stefan.
"Noted. See if I can make any improvements."
"Don't mind me." Rosa looked up at the all to familiar voice.
"Klaus." Elena said.
"You gonna do this at the Grill? In front of everyone? It's a little beneath you, don't you think?" Damon said. Klaus looked around the Grill for a moment, meeting eyes with Rosa. He smirked slightly, making her look down at the table.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I just came down to my local pub to grab a drink with a mate." A man suddenly came up to Klaus and Rosa could tell by her sisters face that this wasn't good. "Get a round in, would you Tony?" Klaus smiled, looking at the shocked face on Elena.
"I'm surprised you stuck around town long enough for happy hour."
"My sister seems to be missing. Need to sort that out." He then looked towards Rosa. "Plus, I rather enjoy the company of some of Mystic Falls residents." He said. Damon and Elena looked both shocked and confused as Klaus watched Rosa carefully. Her eyes haven't left the spot on the table which she has been staring at since Klaus began talking.
"Cute blonde bombshell, psycho. Shouldn't be to hard to find." Damon said moving on from the sudden awkwardness.
"Truth is I've grown to rather like your little town. Think I might fancy a home here. Oh I imagine you're wondering how does this affect you. The answer is: not in the slightest. As long as I get what I want and everyone behaves themselves you can go on living your little lives however you choose. You have my word."

"What more could you possibly want?" Elena asked him.
Klaus's eyes hesitated on Rosa for a moment before turning back to Elena and Damon. "Well for starters, you can tell me where I might find Stefan."
"Stefan skipped town the second he saved your ass." Damon told him.
"Well you see, that is a shame." Klaus throws the dart which makes a loud bang when it hits the bullseye. Rosa finally looked up at the scene in front of her. "You're brother stole from me. I need him found so I can take back what's mine."
"That sounds like a Klaus and Stefan problem." Elena said. Klaus suddenly began to move closer to Elena. Damon moved in between them and Rosa stood up from her chair ready to walk over to her sister.
A smirk formed on his face as he looked around. "Ha. Well this is me broadening the scope, sweetheart." After this Klaus left and Rosa exhaled a deep and shaky breath.
"What is wrong with you two? Just leave him alone so he doesn't, I don't know, kill us!" Rosa shouted at the two.
"Look, there's a lot you still don't understand and I really don't feel like explaining it so go back to being quiet and stay out of this." Damon said before walking out, Elena following after him.
✰
The rest of the day, Rosa did as Damon said. She stayed out of it. Of course since she did that Jeremy was almost run over and instead Alaric was. Everything was all screwed up now and Rosa couldn't do anything about it.
Elena had forced Rosa to come decorate Caroline's locker for her birthday. Normally Rosalina would have immediately said no, but she actually didn't mind much. She liked Caroline and even Bonnie was starting to grow on her.
"Hey, sorry I'm late, I...I got held up." Bonnie said as she rushed over to the twins.
"It's ok. We just got here too. Can you pass me the balloons? Thanks. What got you running late?" Rosa tried to tune the girls out. She hated small talk even when it isn't that awkward, she just didn't feel the need.
"I was...working on some new spells. You?" Rosa forgot Bonnie was a witch. She thought it was actually pretty cool that she could do magic and was the least freaky supernatural thing that she's seen.
"Working out with Alaric. So, I have something I need to tell you, and you're not gonna like it." Elena said. Rosa was now paying attention. She wasn't sure what Elena was going to say, but she seemed pretty stressed over it.
"What happened?"
"Jeremy is gonna be leaving town for a while. He'll be staying with some old family friends in Denver, until the whole Klaus thing blows over." Rosa's eyes widened and she became angry. Her brother wouldn't just leave.
"What?" Rosa asked, much to loudly for a school hallway.
"Jeremy wouldn't just leave you to deal with Klaus on your own." Bonnie said.
"Exactly. Where is that little brat?" Rosa said now staring at her sister angrily. Elena sighed and turned back to Bonnie.
"I know...I asked Damon to compel him."
"Elena!"
"You what?" Both Bonnie and Rosa were speaking at once.
"I know, guys. But it's not safe for him here anymore. Leaving will give him a better life. The only reason I'm telling you is because I know that you two haven't really worked out your stuff. And I thought that maybe you'd wanna say goodbye." Elena told her friend. Before either of them could talk, Rosa walked away angrily. She couldn't believe her sister would do that and didn't even ask her about it. Rosa couldn't believe that Elena had Damon compel there brother. How many times had she done this to him? How many times had it been done to her?
When Rosa passed Jeremy she didn't even look at him. She knew it wasn't his fault, but she was so angry. She decided to skip school which apparently Caroline had done too.
Rosa decided she would still help out with Caroline's birthday, so her and Elena along with Bonnie and Matt all went to Caroline's house and got ready for the surprise.
When Caroline walked into the door they all yelled surprise, but Caroline seemed less than thrilled.
"Happy Birthday!" Matt and Rosa said at the same time.
"What are you guys doing here?" She asked.
"Well, you blew off school and missed our work of birthday art, so..." Elena said. She took off the plastic crown on her head and placed it on Caroline's.
"Change into warmer clothes, we are going to the Falls. S'mores, camp fire..." Bonnie said before being interrupted by Elena.
"Cake! Like when we were little." Rosa sighed. She was never included in there old traditions, but that didn't really matter now.
"Except for the tequila." Matt said. Rosa couldn't help, but feel out of place. She loved being friends with Caroline and even though her sister was here, she felt like an outsider. Like she was a background character in this.
"Thanks, guys. Really, um, I'm just not feeling my birthday this year." Caroline said.
"I'm sorry, what? You've already claimed your birthday as everyone's favorite day of the year." Bonnie said.
"Yeah, and now, it's just a reminder that technically, I'm dead. Look, I didn't even like 17. And the only point of being 17 is to get to 18. It's a filler year; I'm stuck in a filler year." Rosa suddenly felt bad for Caroline. She never wanted to become a vampire. She knew she shouldn't, but Rosa somehow felt guilty for turning 18 while Caroline never could.
"You're not stuck, Caroline." Elena said.
"Seriously, at least you get to stay young and pretty forever. You aren't stuck." Rosa added.
"Yeah I am, but it's ok. You know, it's all good, I'll be fine. But I just need some time to wallow in it." She said.
"Ok, well I think I have another idea." Elena told her. Rosa sighed. Did she not understand that Caroline didn't want to celebrate.

The Normal Dungeon Core: Lethe
Just a normal, standard, no extra frills or gills, dungeon core LitRPG novel in a fantastical world. And as usual, a system exists! Prologue: You know all those stories about reincarnation? Where our beloved (or hated) protagonists are transferred to a new world to conquer, defeat the demon lord, rescue the princess. or are made into mythical gems of power with control over Monsters and Men (psst..a dungeon core)? Where they get a cheat-like ability, are special, granted privileges, or have knowledge from another world? Well, I read about them too in my spare time before I came here. At least, I think I did. Now, you might be asking, where is 'here' ? To answer your somewhat specific, yet vague, question my dear audience...I don't know! But what I do know is that...well nothing other than I had a past life...I think... Anyway...You are correct in assuming that I was indeed reincarnated into a dungeon core! But... ..I have no idea who I was. ...I don't seem to have any special powers or skills or cheats. ....And I was specifically told by Mr. S that I am not, and never will be, "special." Now, if you are confused, then I'm doing a great job, because you probably have no idea what I'm talking about, I haven't given you a background story, or taken you through the last few hours of my new existence. We will get to that! I promise! The main reason I am telling you this absurd and completely delusional preface, is to introduce to you the idea that I, as in me, the new dungeon core, am not "special".............. With that out of the way, how about we rewind time a bit to when I...developed my consciousness? Yes? Great! Lets goooooo! ---------

The Hopeful Project
A pair of twins stumble their way into the world of blood magic, lizard people, and cultivation powered mecha-armor. And by stumble, I mean one of them falls on their face while the other laughs. [Writathon Participant] People read this far? What are you doing down here? Escape! The chapter buttons are over there, stop reading this. No? Fine. This book is an excuse to put a world I spent around 3-4 months of my life building over the pandemic into writing. I was planning on doing the writathon last year, but somehow managed to confuse October and November. Dont laugh, I'm already ashamed enough. This book is about a pair of twins, doing twin things: calling each other names, going to school, learning how to use their blood to become unstoppable, juggernaut, killing machines... You know, twin stuff. It's like if someone stuffed a school arc inside of a tournament arc inside of a war arc. A good time, basically. I hope you enjoy it.

Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com!
