《The End》Part 27: Tattoos

"I am not going to some dumb college that I couldn't even get into if I tried." Rosa said plainly as she turned on the TV and watched as the cartoon popped up.
Elena sighed and turned off the TV. "Maybe you could get in if you studied instead of watching Spongebob."
"I was watching that." Rosa complained and snatched the remote from Elena's hands. "Seriously, I'm just hoping to graduate. So, leave it alone, Lena."
"I think you should come."
"I think I should stay and watch my cartoons. Seems like the most normal thing for me to be doing right now. Seeing you on your deathbed really shook me up."
Elena scoffed and walked away. "That's low."
"Be careful, I can get lower." Elena laughed softly before walking out the door.
Rosa sighed and shut off the TV. She didn't get why Elena wanted to visit that college. They were vampires, there was no point in going to college. Rosa knew she would never go.
She picked up her phone and dialed Caroline's number, but she didn't get an answer. Rosa realized her list of friends was severely limited. So she dialed the only other person she could think of...after Jeremy also didn't answer his phone.
"Rosa, what's up?"
"Stefan, hey. What are you doing?"
Stefan was hesitant on the other end of the phone. "Secret mission." He told her.
"Sounds fun. Can I help?"
"Rosa, that's—that's not a good idea. Why don't you go hang out with Caroline or something." Rosa sighed.
"Please, everyone's gone. Let me help. I could be useful."
For a while there was no answer. "It involves Klaus."
She thought for a second before answering, "Great. I'm good at helping when it comes to him." Again Stefan didn't answer. "I'll meet you at your house, bye." She quickly hung up and picked up her keys before heading out to her keys.
—
"So we just snuck into Klaus's house. This is going to end well." Rosa said sarcastically. Stefan rolled his eyes and walked into a room where the Hunter, Connor was chained up.
They hear a sound and Stefan rushed to the corner, bringing Rosa with him. Klaus walks in and smirks. "Looks like I'll have to beef up the hybrid security system."
Stefan then walked out of the corner, Rosa following after him, "I was gonna take him, but I figured you went through so much trouble to truss him up in your red room of pain."
"It's from the inquisition. I thought it was a nice touch." Klaus said and then turned Rosa. "Hello, Rosalina. How's that no talking to me thing going?"
Rosa shrugged, "It's been better." Klaus chuckled and then turned back to Stefan.
"What'd you get out of him?" Stefan asked.
"Not enough. He's mum about the council fire and he's not saying anything about this greater evil we're supposed to be shivering over. What brings you snooping?"
"Well, I can't say it in front of him. As I'm sure you've figured out, our friend here can't be compelled."

Klaus turned to Connor and shook his head, "You're full of mysteries, aren't you?"
"I told you, I don't know anything." Connor said.
"Thankfully, I know plenty." Klaus walks out of the room and gestures for the two to follow him. "Shall we?" Klaus holds the door open for Rosa and Stefan and then closes it behind them. "So, what's with the home invasion?" He asked.
Rosa shrugged and sat down on the couch. Stefan began to speak, "Damon said you knew something about this guy. Now, I should have figured out that you were up to something when you healed Elena from the werewolf poison without asking for anything in return."
"I was feeling benevolent." Klaus replied. Rosa scoffed.
The two turned to her, "Don't look at me. I'm only here because I didn't want to go hangout with Damon and Elena at some boring college."
Klaus smirked and turned back to Stefan, who hesitated for a second still confused by Rosa. "You're never benevolent. Who is this guy? What's the five?" Stefan asked.
"So many questions."
"Not a lot of answers." Rosa replied.
"It's a good thing I have nothing to do today, except get answers out of you." Stefan sits down next to Rosa and looks at Klaus.
Rosa groaned, "We're gonna be here all day? I've got vamp training with Caroline later." She whined.
"If you ever need help I am always—"
"No." Rosa interrupted Klaus.
He nodded and continued his conversation with Stefan. "Fine. You might actually be useful in persuading my sister to cooperate." Klaus walks out of the doorway and further into the room. "The brotherhood of the Five was a group of highly skilled hunters. We crossed paths with them in the 12th century Italy."
"So these hunters have been around for 900 years?" Stefan asked.
Klaus sighed, "Apparently. Though our friend in the other room is the first I've seen since then. Kind of makes you wonder what they've been up to all these years."
"I'm gonna guess, hunting." Rosa said, smiling slightly. Klaus nodded and Stefan eyed the two curious and confused by their banter.
"So, Rebekah had a thing with one of them?" Stefan asked, bringing them back to the conversation.
Klaus shook his head, "Oh, she didn't just have a thing. She fell in love with him. He told her all his secrets. Which I will gladly share with you provided you do one thing for me."
"And what's that?"
"Get Rebekah over here. She's being stubborn and hateful. I need to make peace with her. I want her to give me some very important information about the hunter which she won't do, unless she believes we've made up."
Rosa watches as Stefan gets up, "And what's in it for me?" He asks.
"Just get her here and I'll tell you. Oh, and Stefan, trust me when I say this; that hunter in there holds the answer to all your prayers."
Rosa slumped in her seat as Stefan left and Klaus looked at her. She didn't meet his eyes. This was not part of the plan. Well, there wasn't a plan, but this isn't what Rosa wanted to happen.

"So, Rosalina. How are you?" He asked.
"Dead." She responded. "And hungry. Do you have blood?"
Klaus smiled and stood up, Rosa following after him. "Have at it." He said. Rosa looked to where he was pointing. It was a girl in a uniform, she must be working for Klaus, or serving as his personal blood bag.
"Do you have any from a blood bag?" She asked awkwardly.
"Why would you rather a blood bag over this?" He asks.
Rosa looks down at the floor, "Uhm...Caroline's helping me learn control and I don't have great control when I drink from the vein. I've...killed people." She mumbled the last part very softly.
Klaus nodded, but brought the girl over anyway. "Why don't you drink, and I'll make sure you stop before that happens?" Rosa was hesitant, but nodded. "Good."
He held the girl by her wrist and moved her hair out of the way. Rosa slowly walked towards the girl, hearing the blood pumping, her heart rate increasing.
She looked in her in the eyes, "Don't move, don't make a sound, don't be scared. You won't remember any of this." Rosa spoke in a soft and calming voice.
Suddenly she bit into the girls neck, drinking the warm blood. Making sure not a drop of blood escaped her mouth. "Alright, love. That's good." Klaus said calmly. Rosa didn't stop, instead her grip only tightened. "Rosalina, that's enough!" Klaus said more forcefully. Rosa looked up and then to the girl. She wiped the blood off her lips and turned away from her, trying to make the veins under her eyes disappear. "Go." He heard Klaus say to the girl.
Klaus was suddenly in front of Rosa. He tucked her hair behind her ear and wiped a drop of blood off the side of her mouth.
"You did good. Already making progress." He told her. Rosa nodded and walked back into the room and sat on the couch.
—
"Where were you?" Rosa asked when Klaus finally came back.
"Getting things done. Now come on, we've got some interrogating to do."
Rosa nodded and followed Klaus into the room where Connor was still chained up. Connor groans. "You feeling alright, mate? Are the shackles to tight? Welcome home, sister." Klaus turned around and Rosa did to to see Rebekah and Stefan walk into the room.
"Is this a trick? How do you know he's one of the Five? Where's his bloody tattoo?" Rebekah asked. Rosa didn't look at Rebekah. She couldn't. Rebekah was the reason Elena was a vampire, the reason she almost died again, and why everyone was struggling.
"Oh, the tattoos aren't visible on this lot like they were on the last. Let's eat." Klaus walks out of the room. The three follow him to a table and sit down as they're served food. "Thank you, my lovely." Klaus says to the serving girl as she walks off. "I could kiss the council for burning up all the vervain in town. They made my life so much easier. Rebekah, love, eat your veggies."
Rebekah frowned, "I'm not eating until you apologize."
"For which indiscretion? There have been so many." Rosa rolled her eyes at Klaus's comment.
"You broke my neck."
"You threw away Elena's blood so I can't make any more hybrids." Rosa looked down at her plate as the two siblings fought.
She shook her head, "Because you took me for granted."
"That's what big brothers do, sweetheart!" Klaus yelled.
Stefan looked at Rosa who was staring down at her untouched food. "Let me just name the million other people I'd rather be having dinner with right now."
"Alright, fine. I'm sorry. I often forget how delicate you are. Forgive me?" Klaus said.
Rosa looked at him confused. That apology sucked, but Rebekah said, "I'll take it under consideration."
"Okay, good. Now, why don't you tell me about Rebekah's hunter?" Stefan said.
"Right, Alexander. Nice chap, forgoing obvious issues."
—
"So, that's what this is about? A weapon." Stefan asks confused.
"Boring." Rosa added, uninterested.
Rebekah rolled her eyes, "Not just any weapon."
"Rebekah, love, don't get ahead of the story."
Stefan looked at the two, "How is a weapon the answer to all my prayers?" Klaus and Rebekah exchange glances. "Okay. Why don't we just skip with the theatrics and get right to the point?"
"I've got things to do." Rosa told them.
"Not quite yet, because in order to find this weapon, we need to solve the puzzle, which seems to have disappeared." Klaus told them.
Stefan raises his eyebrow, "What puzzle?" Klaus now raises his eyebrows. "The tattoo. What is it?"
"A map. Leading us to its treasure." Rosa began to laugh.
Everyone looked at her, "This is so stupid. Can I go now? I'd honestly rather do homework." She said, still laughing.
"Nope. You're staying." Stefan answered and Rosa pouted.
"Fat lot of good tattoos gonna do, if we can't see it." Rebekah then said.
"We can't, but someone else can." Klaus says before turning to a girl. "Why don't you tell the hybrid to bring him in, love?" He asks and the girl walks out of the room. "You see, the hunter was so eager to get to the bottom of his mystery tattoos that he mentioned there was only one other person who can see them."
A hybrid walks back into the room, holding Jeremy tightly in his grasp. Stefan super speeds over to Jeremy, but Klaus stands in between Stefan and Jeremy. Rosa stands up and walks closer to Stefan.
"I wouldn't. Lucky for us, young Jeremy here, is a bit of an artist." Klaus said.
"I'm not helping you with anything." Jeremy says. Suddenly the hybrid takes Jeremy's hand and pulls the ring off his finger and tosses it to Klaus.
"Oh, I'm afraid you are."
