ZARA

Zara sits in her room, listening to her parents rage and storm through out the evening. Towards night, she timidly steps out of her room to use the bathroom.

As she is leaving the bathroom, she runs into her father. "You," he leers at her, his eyes glittering with drunken hatred.

Without a second thought, he slaps her hard, sending her sprawling to the floor. "Get up!" He yells, throwing a beer bottle on her back. "Up!"

Slowly, her body aching already, Zara stands up. He pushes her roughly up against the wall and expertly, with one hand, unbuckles and unzips his trousers.

Zara eyes him with hatred.

"I won't do it," she states, her voice shaky but full of conviction.

"Yes you will." He pushes his arm against her neck.

"No i will not!" She shouts, feeling more confident, tears welling up in her eyes.

Angrily, he throws her across the room. "Then get out of my house!" He yells, throwing the beer bottle at her. This time it hits the side of her forehead, making it bleed.

Zara quickly gets her bag, steals her father's beer and leaves the house, with no where to go.

Within half an hour, Zara is drunk beyond reason.
