The Haunting is- or, was, a normal 'holiday' for the villagers, though they don't see it like the monsters do.
While the students see it as fun, and a way to see all that they have missed, the villagers... well, they see it as a day where the fiendish monsters from the woods show up to scare- or even kidnap and kill- them.
Of course that's not true, but they figured it was.
However, in recent years, these events seemed to stop, and- like tonight, most villagers thought they were safe yet again.
But...
~
The students grew quieter as they neared the village, and waited in place as a few taller figures cautiously stepped into the clearing; the aforementioned rabbit Murko, a pale-faced, white-eyed ghost with long yellow hair- otherwise known as a banshee, a siren, and of course Mr.Aizawa.
Or, specifically, his head.
The teachers stayed quiet for a while, scanning the rustic houses and pathways for any signs of people who could see, and harm them.
Midoriya, not knowing what was going on, whispered to his 'scare partner', "what are they doing?"
"scanning the area so it's safe enough for us to go out." Todoroki says lowly.
Nejire adds, "they don't do this much, but since it's been a while since the last one we have to be sure."
Deku nods.
After a moment, Aizawa brings his head back, and turns it to face the class. "The coast is clear. Of course, stay with your partner at all times, and be careful."
The students agreed, and soon enough they went their seperate ways through the village.
Izuku took one step into the open, and watched as his classmates started chatting and smiling, looking as excited as ever.|
'What would be so bad about them...we're all just kids, right...?'

"Midoriya."
"Hm?" He turned in the direction of the voice, and was met with Todoroki, who was pointing to one of the larger houses.
"I found it."he says bluntly. "Let's go."
"Oh, yeah, okay!-"
"Hey uh, Midoriya?"
The dragon turns again, this time seeing a very worried ghost. "...you might wanna look at this..."
The geenette looks puzzled, but Shouto walks to the direction of Togata. "It's fine. We do have all night."
Izuku nods- to nobody in particular since both of them are in front of him- and follows Mirio to, wherever he just was.
-
"Is there something specific about why you asked for only Midoriya?" Todoroki asks. The boy in front of him chuckles, "Well yeah, you've already seen this place."
Deku would've asked where exactly they were going, but he couldn't shake the feeling that Todoroki was somehow... jealous? No, that can't be it.
"Okay," the ghost says, but it's not in his normal excited tone. "...here." he points, and Midoriya follows his finger, gasping at the nam on the grave.
It was his.
The grave read; 'Izuku Midoriya'
He should have known that this was where he was going.
Though, he never cam to the graveyard alot. Not since his mother's death, anyways. On the day she was buried, she didn't have a gravestone at all.
A few weeks later, the hole was empty, meaning the village had to have done something sick with it like burning the body.
Mirio and Todooki stayed silent, letting their friend gather his thoughts. However, his gave wasn't on Izuku's mind exactly, but rather, the small amount of familiar names he sees...
'Tsuyu Asui'
'Tamaki Amajiki'
'Mirio Togata'
'Tensei Iida'
'Tenya Iida'
'Kyoka Jiro'
'Eri'
'Hazashi Yamada'

'Shota Aizawa'
The first seven were his class mates, and the last two belonged to his teachers, Eraserhead and Present Mic.
There were two more- which he didn't recognize; 'Tomur Shigaraki' and 'Himiko Toga'.
There was one- not alligned with the others, that his werewolf friend seemed to stare at for a while. Deku walked over, seeing the name 'Katsuki Bakugo' on it.
He would've said something to his friend, but Kirishima was already leading him away, and the two of them walked- presumably to one of the raggedy benches outdoors to sit at.
Todoroki and Midoriya locked eyes, nodding, and the dragon followed the latter to the house.
-
"Th-there." Bakugo points to a wooded, long seat. Kiri nods and the two of them go to sit.
"You okay?" the redhead asks. Katsuki does his best to nod.
"I didn't think they hated us this much.."
Eijirou pats him on the back, saying, "I know how it is..."
"...what was it like for you?"
"Well...vampires used to be allowed in the village- as long as we didn't like- eat people. Animals, though, were okay to get blood from. For a while it was fine like that, but...one day, a blonde girl did murder her adopted parents, and we had to leave."
"Shit, really?"
He nods. "That's kinda why I didn't wanna come here anyways..."
-
The houses are all made relatively the same; stone borders, dark wood walls, stone roofs and a bit of greenery around the sides in the form of vines or flowers.
However, they do have different sizes, the more expensive one obviously having more dimensions and better-made walls.
Houses of this size are part of the prettier area in the village, that Midoriya never really went to before.
Though luckily he gets to see them now, even if some of their beauty was lost in the night darkness.
"Here."
They stop in font of what has to be the biggest, even for this area.
Something striking, however, are the four graves outside.
Deku took noe of the names; 'Rei', 'Touya', 'Fuyumi', and-
"...Shoto?" he questions. Todoroki nods, saying "..this was my house."
"Oh, I'm sorry-"
"It's alright, Midoriya." he bends down to grab a flower, a light blue, almost glowing shade, and places it onto the grave that reads 'Fuyumi'.
"If you're going to ask, she is the only...dead one."
"O-Oh, okay I-" as he's about to respond, he notices that it's not Shoto who said that...
No, a boy with a blue jacket, white hair and gray-brown eyes, stands in the doorway of the house. "Hi." he says.
"W-Wait, what?!"
Todoroki smiles a bit. "It's okay, he's known about the academy for a while."
"..oh"
"He's in there, I guess he's asleep." Natsu says. Shoto nods, turning to Midoriya and pointing up.
But Izuku doesn't exactly get it."...huh?"
"Can you fly yet?" Nastu asks. He nods. "Well, can you use them for this?"
