《Dark Roses #Wattys2019》Chapter 15

I rang Blaire's doorbell right when I got home. I wasn't really planning on continuing with the plan of hanging out with him today, but at lunch he seemed somewhat upset.
I stopped by at Wendy's to pick us up a little snack. He doesn't know I did it, but I hope he likes it.
After a couple of minutes of waiting, I rang the doorbell once more, soon seeing a smiling Blaire infront of me.
"Rose, welcome, come in." He spoke opening the door wider. I smiled, and stepped inside being greeted by the smell of fresh roses, and opera music.
I took off my shoes, and looked at him. It seemed as if he changed clothes after school, or there was something else quite off about him. I couldn't really recognize what it was.
"I bought some fries and chicken nuggets for us to eat." I said smiling while holding up the bag. He observed the bag realizing that it was Wendy's. He wasn't as excited as I would have been, but it was obvious that he was pleased.
"Awesome, I was quite hungry, how about we bring it up to my room?" Blaire said turning around as he began to walk up his grand stairs. I sort of stood still for a moment. I understand it's just Blaire, but, I don't know if I feel comfortable going upstairs in his room alone with him. It's not like we haven't been alone together before, but I just wasn't that comfortable around his house yet-nor really him anymore. I'm sure if his mom even knew I was over right now she would get mad.
He stopped going up the stairs, and turned around.
"You coming?"
I nodded my head, and began to walk upstairs following him into his room. I knew I shouldn't be agreeing to this, but if anything bad happens I know a few self defense skills.
His room was all carpet, and had dark blue walls. It was pretty cool and neat, but bland. Normally teenaged boys would have posters on their wall, or a messy bedroom. Everyone is different though I guess.
"You can set the food on the carpet. Just don't make a mess." Blaire spoke disappearing into a room located inside of the room. If I lived here, I would have turned that room into a Hannah Montana closet.

I began to sit the food down on the carpet, but first I laid out napkins so if anything spilled, the napkins would most likely catch it.
After taking a few bites out of two nuggets, Blaire walked back into the room with a drawing book.
"I want to show you these." He said excitedly sitting down across from me. I finished chewing one of my nuggets and looked at the book he held in his hand. He opened it looking at me with his piercing blue eyes, and flipped through drawings of people, mostly girls. They were absolutely amazing, but it was weird.
Towards the end, he flipped past a picture that looked exactly like the girl Allison that died. Chills ran throughout my body remembering the rumors about Blaire, and once again curiosity filled my mind, but I shook it off. One day he'll tell me the whole story.
Or I'll find out.
Eventually, he flipped to a drawing that looked like me.
"Did you do this?" I said amazed. I held the page open with one of my hands. There was so much detail to it, it almost looked like an actual real life photo.
"You like it?" Blaire questioned with a smile on his face. I looked at him.
"Heck yes dude, this is amazing!" I said letting go of the book, and picking up a nugget. Blaire laughed.
"Thanks, I did it while at lunch one day. I was studying you." He spoke closing the book and putting it to the side.
Studying me.
"Oh, so you watch me during lunch?" I laughed joking around, but, I was also serious about it.
Blaire began to blush, and went quiet.
"I'm just kidding Blaire, the drawing is awesome and that's all that matters." I spoke passing him some nuggets. He took one, and bit into it smiling at me. The opera music was still playing in the background.
I have to admit it, Blaire is a very attractive kid. Yes, maybe he's a bit off, but he's misunderstood, and unique.
"I mean it's okay. I stare at you often as well at lunch. Usually I see you writing away in one of your notebooks. Don't tell me you're an amazing author to."

Blaire shrugged his shoulders with a smirk on his face.
"What talents do you have Rose?" Blaire questioned me staring into my eyes. I almost became hypnotized.
"Eating food." I said throwing a french fry at him. Honestly, I really wish I knew what talent I have, an obvious one at least. Maybe seeing the brighter side to people and things could be one.
We continued on our conversation for a good 15 minutes or so, and suddenly the doorbell rung. Blaire stood up.
"Um, I'm going to go answer that. I'll be right back. You can turn on the t.v if you want, the remote is somewhere, I would try to find it but I don't want it to be someone in urgent need of something at the door."
I nodded my head, and with that, Blaire left. I then got up trying to search for the remote. His room is so clean and tidy, so it should be easy to find it.
I started to search by his dresser, and couldn't find anything. Maybe it fell somewhere.
I got down on my knees, and tried to search underneath the dresser to see if I could find it. As soon as I knew it, the remote was located towards the far back of the dresser.
"Ah, there we go." I said to myself trying to reach for it. Because it was so far back, I had to push my hand a little further back, bringing my shoulder against the dresser. Out of nowhere from me pushing myself constantly against the dresser, I heard a loud thump, and quickly pulled myself away from underneath the dresser.
As I looked around to see what fell, I quickly noticed bright orange pill bottles. I got up and went over to them ready to put them back where they belong, but as I crouched down, I noticed what type of pills they were.
Lamictal, trifluoperazine, and much more.
Pills for bipolar disorder, psychosis, anxiety, and other mental illnesses.
I studied them carefully making sure I was reading the label correctly. My heart began to race.
Flashbacks were running through my head.
"Rose, what are you doing." Blaire's suddenly said. I jumped, and dropped the pill bottles back on the floor. I looked at him in fear.
"I..I was looking for the remote and-"
Blaire suddenly banged his fist on the wall, and made a sudden scream. I began to back up, and eventually my back met the nearest wall.
In less than a second, Blaire completely turned into a different human being. A human being filled with rage. A human being that I did not recognize whatsoever.
"You weren't supposed to see those!" He shouted loudly. I was speechless.
"Blaire it's okay.." My eyes began to water. I was scared. When his mom said he isn't like the rest of the "kids" I hang around, I guess this is what she meant.
He grabbed a vase from a stand located in his room, and threw it against the wall making me once again jump. I have no idea what to do, I've never known.
Anything I say to him can possibly stimulate the situation, and only cause possible harm to myself and him.
"Fuck!" He shouted, and started to run his hands through his hair while whispering things to himself. I continued to stand against the wall, not moving one bit unless I absolutely had to.
He suddenly stopped, and turned around looking at me. His piercing blue eyes were no longer filled with anger, he was back to his old self.
He began to walk towards me, and my heart began to race.
Before my shocked body could respond, I was pulled into a hug. I felt tears from Blaire begin to fall on my shoulders.
"Thank you for giving me a chance Rose unlike the rest. I've been so alone, and now finally I found you. This doesn't change anything between between us right?" He cried.
I gulped, and gently began to pat him on his back.
"No Blaire, not at all," I spoke nervously.

The Rocky Shore
This is a LitRPG series. Every story you read here takes place in the same virtual world, with the same rules and limitations. Characters will travel, explore vast and dangerous realms, overcome obstacles, meet one another, enter into conflicts with one another, forge alliances, make horrible mistakes, and occasionally just die. A technological singularity has been achieved, and humanity has been trapped in a virtual world by a super-intelligent, self-improving artificial intelligence. This program is not malicious at all. In fact, it desires nothing except the happiness and fulfillment of every human it has copied into itself. If its decisions seem strange to you, that's only because its reasoning is far beyond ours. It recognizes that humans cannot be happy without enemies to overcome and goals to achieve, as well as the possibility of failure and death. The world it has created may be heaven or hell, depending on the free choices of the people it contains. The non-player characters who live in this realm have no idea that they are part of a vast computer system. They seem real enough, but there is no way to tell if they are truly self-aware. Even the system that created them isn't certain. This is world in which all the things that humans are used to dealing with in the abstract: skills, talents, knowledge, reputation, social status, morality, even love, exist as readable statistics that players can see and interact with objectively. This has many curious and complex effects on how people perceive themselves and the world around them. A few quick notes on the system: -Death is permanent -The system interface can only be accessed at certain locations. -Magic of diverse kinds is available and useful, but is not a good substitute for skills, physicallity, or mental prowess. Non-magical characters are common and competitive. -There is no inventory system. Characters must physically carry everything they wish to have on their person. -Healing is slow and difficult. Magical Healing is all but unheard of. Protagonists: Raymond Garrison- A man in his late twenties who used to work as a forklift operator in Idaho. His path leads him to work as a mercenary, protecting a small community of humans and goblins from the Seelie Fae who wish to exterminate them.
