《Hero Of Olympus》I wake up

When I woke up, instead of feeling my soft bed and seeing my messy room, I felt something hard on my stomach and saw snowy dirt when I opened my eyes.
I yelped and stood up to assess my surroundings.
I was in the middle of a forest, covered in snow. It was freezing cold as it was in the middle of winter and I was surprised I wasn't dead as I had been sleeping there.
The air felt bitter cold, but sultry at the same time. There was also no sunlight and the only light was from the horizon, where there was a haze of light.
I looked up into the sky and gasped in amazement. The sky was lit up with billions of stars. It was as if the entire sky was a huge led light. I also saw the northern lights right above me!
The only other time I saw these many stars was in Ogygia.
I saw a huge cloud of stars running from one end of the horizon to the other. It was the Milkyway galaxy!
I looked to the west and saw the constellation of the huntress. I smiled at the thought of Zoë.
Then the cold brought me back to reality. I gasped and tucked my hands into my t-shirt, shivering. My arms were starting to get stiff because of the cold. My main objective now was to survive the cold.
I looked down at my feet and saw my backpack lying there. I quickly threw on my hoodie. The thing was, this hoodie was meant for New York winter, not wherever I am winter.
I tried to sense the sea and found it was towards the west. I slung my backpack over my shoulder and started to jog, following the constellation of the huntress.
I tried to keep myself as warm as possible by rubbing my hands together as I ran.
I reached the sea and gasped at what I saw. Panic seized me. When I looked over the jagged rocks, instead of seeing the vast open ocean, I saw glaciers. The only place I know which had both glaciers and northern lights, was... Alaska.
Hades' pink underpants! I was in the land beyond the gods. I had no where to go and this cold forest could go on for miles without any civilization. Alaska was wild and cold.

There was no hope of starting a fire as everything was either frozen or wet.
If I could find civilization, I could atleast call my mom, Annabeth, Zeus or Apollo's personal numbers, which I got from Apollo as a prank to annoy Zeus.
But the problem was that there were no phones here and I couldn't carry one as it would attract monsters.
I was in deep Pegasus shit.
All of a sudden, my fingers started to burn. I looked down and saw frostbite spreading. I contemplated on whether or not to stick my hand in my mouth but decided that could go wrong.
I started panicking. Should I pull out Riptide and chop my arm off? No that was stupid. These were one of the moments when I wish I had leo around.
I then decided to do something I promised myself never to do again. I reached into my powers and felt the water in my blood. I caused the molecules to vibrate more, increasing my body temperature. The frostbite started to slowly fade away, leaving my hand cold and numb.
I willed the water in the sea to heat up as well. The water being freezing cold, took long time to heat. I then dipped fingers in the water to warm them up. The water rejuvenated me, but still left my fingers hurting.
I decided to start traveling south so that I come closer to Canada and the gods.
As walked south, I thought about who would be mean enough to do this to me. I then remembered the voice that I had heard before drifting off to sleep. "Unlike last time, what is about to happen to you in not my doing."
The voice had said 'unlike'. The only other time I was whisked away in my sleep was when Hera wiped my memory and sent me to camp Jupiter.
That means that the voice was Hera's. How did she know what was about to happen? Why didn't she stop it? Was it a prank?
I suddenly approached a clearing. There was a girl with black hair and cold brown eyes standing there, as if she had been expecting me. She looked around sixteen or seventeen, but I knew she could be a few thousand years old and I wouldn't know.

"Uh, hello?" I asked.
The girl stared at me for a few seconds, a smirk on her face.
"Who are you?" I asked her curiously.
"Khione, goddess of snow," she replied.
I widened my eyes in surprise and uncapped Riptide in one motion and pointed it at her. She had tried to kill me on the Argo 2.
"What're doing here? Didn't Piper send you to Tartarus?" I asked, circling her warily.
"I reformed, duh!" She said bored. "And I can kill you on the spot."
As usual, I attacked. What can you expect? She had frozen me on the Argo 2, and also given Jason, Piper and Leo a hard time during their first quest.
I slashed with the flat of my blade, but she paried it with a sharp piece of ice. She then snapped her fingers, and my body froze on the spot. I was feeling unbearable pain.
"Tell me what you're doing here in ten seconds or you're loosing all four limbs," she said.
"I don't know, I just woke up in a forest towards the east and I walked over here and I don't know what's happening so please don't amputate me," I said all in one breath.
Khione narrowed her eyes and snapped her fingers. I yelped and fell down, trying to warm my blood.
"An ingenious technique that will fail you," Khione said. "A child of Poseidon is supposed to only be able to control water, not water mixed with other substances or be able to change the molecular vibrations of water. You're over exerting your powers."
"What are you doing here?" I questioned, still on the ground.
"I was banished here for aiding Gaia in the war. I don't know how I'm able to use my powers here, but I'm thankful for it."
"Can you please tell me which direction is closest to civilization?"
"Why?" She asked.
"Because I want to call my friends or the gods and tell them where I am. Please help me, I'll take you along with me so that you can be in the land of the gods again."
Khione scoffed and gave a cold laugh. "Stupid boy, you were cast out just like me. The Olympians fear your power and connections, and see you as a threat."
That can't be right. Three years ago, I would have believed it. But now, after doing so much for them, it seemed impossible.
They were all nice to me and I had a great time on Olympus. I had spent some time talking with my dad and gone fishing, I had taken archery lessons from both Apollo and Artemis, who helped me become better at archery, which had seemed pretty impossible. I had discussed with Demeter my top ten favorite cereals, I had spoken to Hera and Hestia about what my mom was doing and what I was planning to do with my life in the future. I had taught Ares and Hephaestus how to make blue pancakes, which we enjoyed to the point where we made so many that there was a small mountain. I had played some chess with Athena and told her about my mom's interest in writing a book, which she found very interesting as she beat me in chess six times in a row.
I had narrated my journey through Tartarus to Zeus and Hades and told them how Bob and Damasen sacrificed themselves to save us. It was some great nephew and uncle bonding. I had even told Mr. D about blue cherry coke, which he really liked and told me that he appreciated my choice in beverages. I spoke with Aphrodite about my plans for Annabeth and I to go to college in New Rome. I had also played some Call Of Duty with Hermes, which he enjoyed a lot.
It seemed impossible to me that the gods would do something like this to me.
I looked at Khione. "I don't think it was them. Please just tell me which direction to civilization," I pleaded.
Instead of giving me a twisted answer or a quest to get the answer, Khione just shrugged and gestured for me to follow her.
Great, finally someone who doesn't give out random quests. At this point, I didn't care if she was good or bad. Atleast she knew the difference between useless and unnecessary.

Fates Parallel is my first serious attempt at writing a story, and a personal love letter to Eastern fantasy and xianxia stories. It's heavily inspired by East Asian culture, folklore, and mythology, with what is likely going to be a decidedly Western artistic license. I try to write every day, with a goal of about 45,000 words per month (~1500 per day). Chapter lengths are around 3000 words on average, releasing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
