《For Only A Moment (Student/Teacher)》Eleven

Monday rolled around and as soon as I walked into the school building I heard my name on the schools intercom system. I sighed and headed for the office.
Once there I waited in line for a few while the secretary finished with the few students in front of me. "Desiree go to Mr. Fullers class." She said when I was almost at the window. I nodded and headed for his classroom.
The door was shut, so I knocked and heard a faint come in. I opened the door and there he was, at his desk looking tired with a bunch of papers scattered around on his desk. He smiled when he saw it was me.
"I was told to come here." I told him.
"I know. I asked for them to tell you to come here."
"Why?"
"I believe I owe you some money for babysitting yesterday."
"Nah." I told him. "Alan was there too so he deserves money too."
"Of course I'm not going to give him money." He laughed. "That would be like me taking myself out to dinner or me buying myself a gift."
"I still don't deserve money."
"Desiree we go through this every time. Every time you watch Teddy you will get payed. There's no if ands or buts about it."
"Okay."
"Besides anyone that can put up with Teddy twenty four seven deserves money. Gotta keep you around, don't I." He laughed.
"Ya ya."
"Do you have somewhere else to be right now?" He asked.
"Nope." I told him honestly.
"Ten minutes until homeroom. Take a seat. Keep me company for awhile."
"Fine." I sat down at one of the desks.
"You could sound happier about it." He laughed.
"Oh I mean. I would love to! Nothing would make me happier then to keep you company!"
"That's better." He continued to laugh.
"It's a lie."

"I know."
"You're strange."
"Of course." He stood up and started going through the pockets of his pants. "I know I have it here, somewhere. Got it!" He said pulling out a paper clip.
"You have some on your desk." I told him.
"I don't like those."
"Once again I say, you are strange."
"And proud of it!" He smiled and started walking over towards me. When he go in front of me he said "Here you go." He held his hand out and dropped some money into my hand.
I sighed. "What did I just tell you."
"Just take it and shut up." He walked back to his desk.
"Yes boss." I rolled my eyes.
"Sexy boss." He winked.
"In your dreams."
"No, in your dreams." He winked again and chuckled at the same time.
Just as I was about say something back to him the bell rang and I stood up. "No comment."
"Awe come on. You know it's true."
He laughed louder. "Get going."
"I was leaving."
"Leave faster."
"I'm going!"
"Wait!" He yelled getting up. He made his way over towards me. "What are you doing after school?"
"Homework? I guess."
"Come over for supper." He smiled then pushed me out of the classroom.

It was no surprise when the day went by rather quickly. After Mr. Fuller's class, he pulled me aside and told me to be at his house at five o'clock.
After school I met up with Dustin, who was sitting on the front steps outside his house as I walked by.
"Locked out?" I asked.
He looked up and glared at me. "Yes." He sighed. "Mon wasn't suppose to leave today, well not around this time."
"Don't you have a key?"
"Not anymore. Mom changed the locks the other day and has yet to make me a key."

"Crappy."
"I'll say. You walking home?"
"Yeah."
"Can I go over? Really don't want to stay out here."
"I bet. Come on, I'm tired I want to go home I have plans later."
"You do? Wait babysitting?"
"Not tonight." I smiled.
"Surprisingly." He laughed.
"I know right. No tonight Mr. Fuller wants me to go over for supper."
"Ooh a date!"
"No!"
"Will Teddy be there?"
"Well yeah. He lives there." I rolled my eyes.
"Damn then it's not a date."
I laughed. "Never will be a date anyway."
"Eventually."
"Never."
"Keep telling yourself that."
"Whatever." I sighed and started walking faster.
"I still say he will ask you on a date eventually."
"What makes you say that?" I asked rolling my eyes.
"Umm hello how can he not!" He stopped walking and grabbed me, making me stop too. "You're incredibly pretty. You're smart. Not to mention unbelievably loving and caring. You can be funny when you want up be, and serious when you have to be. You like to play sports, you're not afraid to get dirty. You don't pretend to be all high class. Haven't you noticed you're every guys dream! He'd be stupid not to go after you."
"But he's gay."
"You don't honestly think that you can't change you? You of all people. He has a son doesn't he, meaning he wasn't always gay."
"Maybe he was gay all along, he just didn't know it."
"Stop making excuses for him." Dustin laughed. "I highly doubt that Des."
I began to walk again and Dustin quickly followed and soon caught up to me.
"I'm just saying." He continued after a while.
"Can we change the subject please?"
"Anything you want."
"Good. Can you believe in no time school will be done."
"I know. Only six more months to go."
"Something like that." I laughed. "And in two weeks it's Christmas. We get out on the twenty third for vacation and go back to school on the fourth of January."
"Times going by fast! When we go back to school in January, there will only be five months left before we graduate."
"Well technically four months because the beginning of May is exams and the rest of the month we do basically nothing. Beginning of June we begin marching then we graduate!"
"I can't wait."
"Me either."
"I can't believe we walked all the way to you're house."
"You say that like we've never done it before."
"I know we have it's just today it went by faster."
"Because today you wouldn't shut up." I laughed.
"Shut up." He laughed also.
"You coming inside or not?" I asked him.
"Yeah." He followed me inside the house.
"Dustin! I haven't seen you in awhile. You're getting so tall and handsome." My mom said once she saw the two of us.
"Hi Mrs. Carlisle." Dustin smiled.
"How's your mother?"
"She's good."
"So what brings you here?" Mom asked.
"Can't I bring my best friend home for no reason?" I laughed.
"Well yeah but." She stopped talking.
"Actually I got locked out and asked if I could cons over for a bit until my mom gets home."
"Oh sure you can. So you need to call your mom?" She asked.
"Yeah. I got my phone taken away in school today."
"That's funny, me too!" I laughed.
"The phys-Ed teacher hates me."
"Mr. Fuller took mine away." I pouted. "And I wasn't even on it he just came up to me and said hand over your phone."
Dustin liked at me strange. "Wow."
* * * * * * * *
Dustin soon called his mother and she came to get him not long after.
The phone rang while I was getting ready to head to Mr. Fuller's. My mom peaches her head into my room.
"Theodore just called. He said wear something sexy."

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
