"what are you doing?" you and xiao had opened the door to reveal venti face planted into the floor with the kitty licking its paws.

"oh thank god you're here y/n! there's this cat that broke in," venti cried out standing up a little. he had the urge to suddenly climb onto the roof for no reason.

"yeah we adopted the cat?" you replied to him confused stepping in and picking up the cat from his back.

"I still need to find my charger..." venti sighed he was thinking of just buying another one but he was broke this month.

"I have a solution," xiao joined in the conversation pulling out a pin and holding it in front of him. where did he get that? you have no idea.

"I'm not doing that," venti shook his head not wanting a pin to be on his nose he'd sound so dumb.

he did it anyway.

"okay so do you know where my charger is?" he spoke up and your head snapped to the side slapping a hand over your mouth to shut you up.

he sounded so goofy and dumb you couldn't hold back. "shut up! I just need to find my charger and I'll be fine," venti yelled which didn't even sound rude in the slightest.

"you do you I'm gonna invite the others," you smiled letting the cat down and it went straight to xiao. xiao just stared down at it before looking back up not knowing what to do with it.

"it's fine," he cleared his voice speaking up and you nodded waving bye at him before walking off to the front door.

"jealousy at it's finest," venti teased overhearing what xiao had said at first.

"y/n! I didn't expect you to actually come," reki's whole face lit up recognizing you. "you expect so little of me," you put your hand on your chest pretending to be offended.

you guys began to walk going towards the direction you came from. you were quiet deep in thought about how reki was going to be gone again.

he was going to disappear out of your life for good this time in just six weeks.

"did yanfei tell you?" reki spoke up reading your expression. he saw right through you as expected it was hard to lie from the person you've known for more than four years.

"she did. six weeks seriously?" you were still in denial about it. you were going to see him in the future again right? you were gonna see him get a new girlfriend and have fun.

you were gonna see him get a future, right?

no you weren't.

"wanted to spare you some sadness guess it didn't work," he chuckled lightly. you weren't an idiot he was hiding it behind his stupid fake cheerful personality.

"tomorrow makes it five weeks," he added which made it so much worse for you. you weren't prepared at all.

"but hey! xiao and you are together right? that's one thing to be happy about," he put his hands up in the air smiling at you trying to lighten up the mood.

"yeah we are, you don't sound very defeated don't you guys have a competition?" you responded raising a brow.

"that's because breakups exist!"

moments like these were what you were going to miss. you no longer saw reki as more than a friend but exactly just a friend.
