《White Fur || Chat Blanc》Chapter 12

Looking out over the roof tops across all of Paris, is a sight to behold.
No matter what time of day or year, it's always breathtaking. The view can not be matched. No matter how many times someone may see it, from absolutely any angle, they will always love it the same.
It's a great way to escape the hardships of the life. The difficult situation I have to go through.
Actually...
I retract that statement. There is one thing that is better than this.
Even though it is a person, being compared to an entire city, they are absolutely gorgeous.
How can a person make me feel so warm on a cold day. Make me so happy even when the rest of the world around me tries to strike me down.
I couldn't bare to see this person be hurt in any way. I would do anything for them.
I love them.
They're the only person who I can truly be myself around.
The only person I look up to. Idolize even.
They have an absolute heart of gold.
Skin like porcelain.
Eyes that shine like diamonds.
A smile that gives you butterflies.
A girl that radiates that charm.
Is there anyone more perfect than her in this miserable world?
There's no way.
I can't help but be in love with...
"Ladybug" Chat said after he stood up to match her height.
His voice was so cold. It was clear that he harbored resentment towards her. It gave her the chills. It was so different from what she was used to. It was even different from how he spoke to her just a few moments ago as Marinette.
"Went and got yourself akumatized I see. Silly cat, what are you gonna do without me?" Her sly remark was just a cover.
He cracked a small but wicked smile. He pulled out his baton like a cane and leaned on it.
"The fearless Ladybug. Savior of Paris. Destroyer of hearts" he chucked at his own joke.
" 'Destroyer of hearts', hmm that's a bit edgy don't you think? I guess I'm more like you now huh? With your power of destruction?" She remarked.

He smile turned into a from
Not the time or the place, Marinette thought. Normally, they would go back an forth, but things are far from normal. She took a moment to look around for something that could be the item that attached him to Hawk Moth. She then noticed a wrinkle over his skin tight suit that suggests that a small item resides in one of his pockets. If he wasn't going to comply, she would have to prepare to take it forcefully.
She sighed, "Look Chat, we can fix this. I don't know what caused you to get so upset that you allowed yourself to be akumatized. It's okay I forgive you. Just tell me where your akuma is and this will all be over. "
Instead of responding, he just looked at her with blank face. As if he was having trouble comprehending what she had said.
The next moment, however, he burst into laughter.
"YOU forgive me?? Hahaha! That's hilarious!! You're a looker and now you're funny? You can bring any man you your knees my lady~" his words had an unsettling aura behind them.
She ignored it the best she could and tried to stay calm. "We're hero's of Paris Chat! It's our duty to protect this town and everyone in it. We know better than everyone else than to get akumatized." She said but ended up saying it with a bit of anger.
"Oh ladybug, I always thought you were so smart. Always finding a way to solve a problem, no matter the scenario. Now I see that your more stupid then you look"
She took a step back, appalled by his words. "Excuse me?"
She was finally taking him seriously. He grabbed his baton and spread his arms out "look around Ladybug! Use that head of yours. I shouldn't have to spell it out for you."
A moment passed an ladybug couldn't think of anything for once.
"How can you not see? That this entire thing... is your fault" he empathized the last two words "YOU did this. How can you say you forgive me when it isn't even your place to forgive in the first place."

"What do you mean?" She said softly and confused.
Chat growled in annoyance. He didn't want to repeat himself or give her a single freebie.
He went into a stance as if he was prepared to lung and attack her.
"It doesn't matter any more, all you need to worry about now is me taking your miraculous" he said before finally lunged towards her.
He lifted his baton with both hands over his head in a swift motion while he sprinted. The baton increased in length seemingly at his will. He then swung it down, aiming to strike her down from above. Luckily she instinctively swung her yo-yo over her with extreme speed, creating a shield in the process.
With his cat like reflexes, Chat Blanc quickly swung one legs around to swipe her legs from under her so she would fall. Ladybug fell with her full weight unto her back, so fast that it knocked the wind out of her. She made a loud gasp for air shortly after she landed.
He moved before she could take a moment to recover. He got on top of her and pinned her.
"Thanks for making this so easy", Chat cockily said before releasing the arm of hers that didn't have her yo-yo in hand to reach for her miraculous.
She thought to herself how strange it was that they were in this position two times in just one day. It was very different though. She was ladybug now. He hated her. However, she wasn't helpless anymore.
Ladybug used all her strength to flip him around so that instead she was on top.
She quickly to advantage of his state of shock to open the zipper to his pocket and grab its contents.
Ladybug jumped back, assuming it would anger him and being near would've made her more vulnerable and susceptible to fatal attacks. She had to keep in mind of his abilities. He isn't running with a clear mind and could easily decided to just out right murder her.
As painful as it was to think of her partner as a mindless akumatized monster, it was the painstaking reality she couldn't escape.
She looked down and saw that in her hand was a folded piece of paper.
She went to open it and read what ever was on the inside.
Before she could, it was snatched out of her hands. She looked up to see that Chat Blanc had taken back his precious item. She cursed herself for being curious and not just ripping the paper to shreds to begin with. Now she had to fight to get it back once more.
She wouldn't make that mistake again.
He jumped away from her and went into a defensive position, as if to protect his measly piece of paper.
"You're going to pay for that" he growled at her.
Something in her switch and she stood up confidently. In that moment, she felt like she was fighting with a cocky child this whole time. All she had to do was show who's in charge. She started walking towards him at a moderate pace.
"Give it" she said in a tone that was demanding yet calm.
He took some steps back worriedly before he finally reach the edge of the roof they were on.
She thought about how strangely he was behaving as she walked closer. Why didn't he just put it back in his pocket and continue his offensive strategy from before? He was acting like a kid trying to protect a Lolly pop from being taken away from them. Bringing themselves to a corner because they don't know what to do. Only it wouldn't be that easy for her.
He looked at her and then behind him as if he was trying to decide on his next move. He made a growl to himself before finally jumping off and running away.
Ladybug was surprised, that must've hurt his pride to run. She guessed she was right in that assumption based on his auditory confirmation before finally executing his feeble plan.
She decided not to go after him.
She doubt she would see him for awhile, as both Ladybug and Marinette.
Too much had happened to her in just one day.

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
