Having slipped out of Gobber's hand and hook, Hiccup makes his way to the secret entrance to the cove. He turns around every few seconds to make sure he wasn't followed.
Hiccup enters the cove and sits on a rock in the middle of a lines drawn on the ground. He looks at the picture Toothless drew and lets his tears flow freely as he thinks about all he did with Toothless. Fearing discovery, he enters one of the caves and dwells in his thoughts. His thoughts gradually grow darker as night comes.
Having already shifted, he walks out and stares at his reflection in the pool. He hears some rustling and backs away from the pool and runs back into the cave. He sees a shadow approaching and charges at it.
The shadow runs out of the cave and stands by the pool. Hiccup charges at the figure again and raises his claw for a killing strike but slowly and shakily lowers it when the moonlight reveals the identity of the figure.
