Why is it always like that?

Nah why do we always blame God for letting bad things happen to us?

They say Jesus came down here and died on the cross for our sins but still we seem to commit them. I just don't understand the way the world works. Well I know God gives us a free will we choose to do bad stuff.

Alijah sat by August's hospital bed watching the monitor go up and down and listening to it beep.

August was breathing on his own but he was out of it. They said he'll wake up but it's been a whole week and he haven't came back yet.

Alijah's been out of it too. Watching her boyfriend lay there looking lifeless really took a toll on her. When she got the call that he had been shot she almost died inside.

"They gotta stop this." Di'anna said handing Alijah a bag of chips and water.

"He ain't gonna stop that's the thing." Alijah said.

They found the boy who shot August hiding in an alley dead. He killed himself because he was scared.

Laila walked in and sat down. "How is he doing?"

"Good that's what they saying anyway. What about Lucas' mama?"

"She woke up yesterday and she's asking questions a lot of questions." Laila said. "They got her on suicide watch."

"Damn why bad things happen to good people?"

"God is just questioning our faith that's all."Alijah said. "I believe and I won't stop." She said on the verge of tears. "I just want my baby back that's it."

August got shot twice in his abdomen area and once in the chest. Of course he lost a lot of blood and the bullet almost punctured his heart so that's why he was out of it right now.

"Well Laila and I are going out to eat with Ming we'll be back to check on you later."

"Okay." Alijah said watching them leave.

She got up and laid down on the couch and watched Spongebob since a marathon was on. Doctors and Nurses came in and out of the room every hour checking on August it was like a dream but it wasn't.

Alijah felt like she needed to wake up. She never met August nor got with him but no she was here laying in the hospital with him praying to God he didn't die.

There was a knock at the door and Jay walked in.

"Hey sis." Jay said walking over to where Alijah was. "You look terrible."

"Fuck you." Alijah said.

"Nah for real you look drained." Jay said.

"Shutup will you please."

"A'ight mama told me to bring you some food so I brought you a salad from Chick-Fil-A." Jay said handing her the bag. "And a strawberry lemonade from Wendy's."

"Thank you chips and water wasn't doing it."

"How are you sitting in here? Watching him?"Jay asked.

"I don't know I usually don't look at him unless the nurses come in here and bathe him or brush his teeth. I sometimes comb his hair and talk to him." Alijah said.

"I hope he wakes up soon. Has his godfather been up here?"

"I think so." She said before taking a sip of her drink.

"I saw Delilah the other day she said she's not on his visitor list why not?"

"I told Laila to put her name om there." Alijah said.

Jay looked at her with his lips twisted to the side. "You know Laila don't like her."

"Oh well." She said humping her shoulders up.

"Man y'all some evil bitches." Jay said.

Alijah looked at him then rolled her eyes.

"I'm out." Jay said getting up and leaving.

Alijah looked over at August and he was twitching.

She watched him and he moved his fingers a little. She got up and pressed the nurse button. She noticed his eyes started to move too while the were closed.

"Yes what's wrong?" The nurse said walking in.

"He's moving." Alijah said.

"Okay I'll go get the doctor."

Alijah watched August move some more.

He eyes slowly open and he took a deep breath.

"Hey." Alijah said as a little smile slowly crept on her face.

August looked at her before smiling. His mouth was dry so he couldn't talk, but just wait till he got something do drink.

The doctor came rushing in and seen August was awake he quickly checked over him.

"He's good."

The nurses started to help August sit up and Alijah gave him something to drink.

August took a sip of the water and looked at Alijah.

"I thought I'll never see you again." He said.

Alijah started crying and she hugged him. "Even though it's been a week I missed you baby." She cried.

"I'm okay baybeh. I missed you too." He said.

"I don't know what to say." Alijah said.

"You love me?" August suggested.

"I do love you." Alijah said.

August smiled and leaned over giving her a kiss.

"So how's August doing?" Alijah's mother asked her while they cleaned up her room.

"Good he gets out tomorrow." Alijah said smiling she was ready to see her baby and get some dick too.

Alijah turned around. "Why you asked that?"

"Because you're my daughter and I can ask if I want to." Her mother said.

"Yes mama I am but we use protection no babies over here."

"Thank you because I'm too young to be a grandma and I too weak to lose a daughter due to your father killing you." She said making Alijah laugh.

"You crazy." Alijah said.

"It's true." Her mother said.

Jay came in the room and jumped on his mother making then both fall on the bed.

Alijah was laughing her ass off.

Jay got off of their mother. "Well I think you should pay my bills because I didn't ask to be here."

"Boy get out of my face before kill you and you definitely won't be here."

Alijah fell on the floor laughing.

"Akikiki my ass get out for I regret saying some thing shit you daddy couldn't pull out if he did shit y'all wouldn't be here. But I love you though." They mama said before standing up and walking out of the room.

"Damn mama it was just a joke." Jay yelled after her.

"You stupid." Alijah said getting up. Jay pushed her back down making her trip him as he tried to walk past her.

"Ugh." Jay said. "I'm telling Dad."

"So you always been a crybaby." Alijah said getting up.

"You always been a mean ass b-

"Jay getcha ass in here!" Their mama yelled.

"A what?"

"Sorry." Jay said walking out of the room.

Alijah's phone vibrated and she had a text from August.

Alijah smiled and replied with okay and on my way quickly. She slid on some shoes and grabbed her jacket and went downstairs.

"Mama I'll be back I'm going to get August from the hospital." She said going out the door.

"Girl please I don't want nobody right now niggas ain't shit." Di'anna said.

Laila, Ming and her were all in the mall eating some Japanese food since they were taking break from shopping at this moment.

"Laila how you doing?" Ming asked before opening her Instagram on her phone.

"Good. Ms.Coly sold her house because it reminds her too much of Lucas so we are currently looking for a small three bedroom house or apartment." Laila said before she started to eat her food again.

"What the fuck?" Ming said looking at the picture of Keith and the girl her was going out with.

"What's wrong?" Di'anna said watching Ming grab her bags and throw her food away.

"I'm sorry but I have to go my mother needs me." Ming said rushing off.

While still looking at the picture walking out of the mall Ming bumped into somebody. She looked up saw Yasir.

"Hey....Ming right?" He said.

"Yeah Hey Yasir?" Ming said.

Yasir smiled and nodded his head. "Yeah nice seeing you again."

"You too bye." Ming said leaving out of the mall.

Ming pulled up to Keith's apartment complex.

"Don't go crazy Ming. You've seen movies on Lifetime like this calm down." Ming said. Then she thought about what he said to her. "Man fuck that shit go kill that bitch."

Ming got out of the car rushing up the stairs to his apartment. She calmed down before knocking on the door.

Keith opened the door and quickly tried to close it.

"Keith I swear...!" Ming said.

Keith opened the door letting her in.

"Is she here?"

"No she took her baby sister out to eat." Keith said.

"I do but I should come first because of the baby." Delilah said.

"Your right but your also wrong too." Alijah said. "Everytime you have a pain here or there or you have heartburn you don't have to text August knowing he's gonne come check on you."

August took a deep breath and nodded his head.

Delilah rolled her eyes. "I don't have time for this if August wants to be there for me he can you can't control him like you do everybody else!"

"Who you yelling at? I don't care if you pregnant or not I'll pop that lil ass." Alijah said.

August looked at her. "Whoa baybeh no need for 'dat okay calm down,"

"You know what I'm outta here." Delilah said grabbing her bag and walking out of the house.

"Where did that come from?" August asked Alijah.

"I don't know I think that's my mama ghetto side I'm sorry." Alijah said as she calmed back down.

"You good baybeh." August said before kissing her.

Alijah slowly laid down on the sofa with August on top of her. He slowly started kissing on her neck.

"You missed me?" August asked her.

Delilah drove on the way home with anger boiling in her body. The roles are supposed to be switched. She's supposed to be with August and Alijah should be pregnant and having to beg for his attention.

She kept having thoughts. "I don't want this baby no more." She started crying.

Delilah had a mental issue where she would always start thinking of bad things which would always in up happening due to her commiting them. When she was six she drowned her own cousin because she thought it would've been fun but ended up putting her cousin in a coma.

"I'm done." Delilah said.

She stopped a red light watching all the other cars go pass before slowly letting off the brake letting the car roll into oncoming traffic.
