《Nick Wilde X Reader | A New Partner》Farewell
Advertisement
From sickeningly fun ride to the next, both of you enjoyed the night-time atmosphere.
At any rate, it was now legitimately late and you two could only do so much.
...Plus you had work tomorrow.
Expressing this to Nick, he agreed that it was about time to wrap up. So you both headed towards the exit, waving to Mark on your way. Plenty of other animals were leaving too, making it somewhat difficult to get out quick and easy.
However, upon eventually hopping in the van, you couldn't help but feel bummed out. You were going home now and you would have to say farewell to Nick. For now, at least.
Driving away, you leaned on the center console. You assumed now would be a better time to consider the future--in your mind, that is. Wilde probably wasn't in the mood.
You decided to glance at the fox in question. His tail was curled back around and laying to the right of him. You watched the sleepy fox start to yawn, exposing his little canines. Quickly turning away, you barely were able to suppress a snicker after witnessing such a cute yawn.
Time flew by when you were with him. For instance, you're already home again. Why did it have to be like that? You sat up and stretched your arm as he pulled into your apartment complex.
Watching him put the van into park, you wondered if he would maybe want to, you know, have a hug... or kiss goodbye.
Sadly, there were no signs from him as he turned on the car light and grabbed a pile of papers. His green eyes scanned them quickly as he sifted through them.
Before you could open the door and sulk away, however, he asked, "Up for anything tomorrow?"
"Eh, I have to work tomorrow." You were bummed that work would take time away from you two, but you did have to pay the bills.

Nick was still filtering through the envelopes and such as he replied, "Not all day though, right?"
The mood brightened as you saw a smirk appear on his face.
"N-no, I work from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM."
"Hmm, where do you work?"
"Urban Centre; the clothing store."
"And for lunch?"
Ohh nice, "Yeah, I have a lunch break at around 11:30."
He put the papers back, "Great, I'll pick you up at 11:30 then."
Pfft. Cocky fox, always acting like he knew what you were going to say, or do, or agree to.
You loved it.
"Great," meeting his eyes once again, you hoped maybe something would happen between you two.
Or... maybe not.
The orange fox breathed in and looked away, "Whew, uh, right." he quickly adjusted some stuff around him and grabbed his phone, "I'll see you tomorrow, then."
Wow, he really lost his cool. That wasn't normal for him, but it was still cute to watch him stumble over himself for once. Was it because of you?
Ah well, didn't matter. "Alright, see you later."
Even happier now, you opened the door and got out. You walked to the entrance of the apartment complex and paused to look back towards the van. The dim light on the ceiling of the orange vehicle was still on. It cast a soft light over Nick, who was leaning back in his chair on his phone with his ears folded against the fabric.
With a renewed smile on your face, you went inside and wandered down the hall to your apartment.
You unlocked the door and went inside. Tossing your stuff on the counter, you really wanted to just crash for the night. But... you had spent all day at the fair and should probably shower.

Despite saying goodbye and being tired, you let out a sigh of relief at being home. You trudged contently to the bathroom and got ready to shower.
Of course, during this routine, Nick Wilde still floated around in your mind.
You thought about the way he walked, his arms swinging at his side. You thought about the way he seemed so sure of himself, how warm he had been when you were together on the ferris wheel, how gentle he was with you...
And the hot shower felt amazing on your sore body. This was definitely the start of a new chapter in your life.
Could you stop thinking about Nick Wilde even if you tried?

Artisan
Hi everyone, really, really sorry for disappearing on you guys, illness lead to a deep depressive episode that I'm still struggling with. Been thinking about coming back to revamp/finish writing Artisan and noticed a kind reader pointing out my work has been stolen and published on Amazon. The offending novel is The Artisan by Jon Moremont - obviously a GoT fan who didn't even read the blurb properly and put a wizard on the cover. Just wanted to let everyone know that this book has nothing to do with me, and has no new content. Thanks, and sorry again - LF Superhero Litrpg Skills, level-ups, powers, crafting, and base-building. Releasing a chaplet daily, ~1,200 words. It is 2054 and unemployment is at an all-time high. Justin, 20 years old and unemployed, has nothing holding him back, and since his government stipend will cover the expense, he signs up to play Imagitech's brand new game: A Time of Heroes. Justin has never been that into multiplayer games, but for a full-immersion virtual reality where he can play a Superhero, Justin is definitely in. Arnar the Dungeon
Arnar is a dungeon core. Everybody knows dungeons are evil, man-eating entities hell-bent on killing and absorbing whatever wanders inside their depths. The problem is no one ever told him that. Well, the truth is no one ever told him anything and he refused powers-that-be when they tried to make him into the proper dungeon. That should teach them not resurrect people into dungeon cores. Now it is too late. He has a perfect plan to become the best dungeon on the continent and nothing will stand in his way. Especially something called common sense. Disclaimer of sorts: I am non-native English writer that used to write mostly for himself. After my last computer decided to die on me taking all my works with it I lost the desire to write for quite a long time. This is my attempt to go find motivation to write again as this was my favourite hobby. The idea is to be held accountable. As for being non-native, I don't believe that should be a major issue as I feel my proficiency in English to be sufficient enough to not be too much of the distraction. That said, be forewarned that the rules governing punctuation are beyond my grasp. All I can do is try not to completely suck at that. As mentioned this is an attempt to motivate me to write again so any message, encouragement or constructive criticism will go long way. The cover was created with the help of http://fantasynamegenerators.com/emblem-creator.php I hope you will enjoy my story.
