To ease some of the stress, you reached over to turn on the radio. You swiveled the volume button up but... nothing.
Oh right, you were underground. No signal.
Luckily, Nick got the hint and reached for his phone to plug it into the aux. You leaned back in the driver's seat as he scrolled through his phone and found some songs he had downloaded. They were chill, it was nice.
The road was beginning to slope downward more and more. You barely had to press the gas to accelerate. But... what the heck could've caused Stephanie to freak out like that? Would she have actually hurt you or him?
Your mind continued to replay the event, analyzing and asking questions. Is this happening elsewhere? Is getting home going to be safe? Could that happen to you? Or to Nick?
Only after several run-throughs of these ideas did your thoughts finally calm down.
Whew. Everything is okay. You and Nick were safe for now and whatever else happened was out of your control. ...Right?
"Nocturnal District up ahead," Nick commented, breaking your train of thought.
A sign and info for the Nocturnal District flew by as you saw the end of the tunnel up ahead.
