light shone through the window of hoseok's apartment and jihye opened an eye to see yoongi's gummy smile.
she snorted, "good morning, creep."
in between them was yejin, sleeping soundly. yoongi brushed a hair out of yejin's face, then reached up to jihye and did the same. he sighed, almost dreamilly and jihye chuckled.
"jihye,"
"hmm?"
"how do you do that?"
jihye yawned. "do what, babe?"
"'babe'?" he nearly screeched.
jihye scoffed and poked his cheek, "why do you act surprised every time i give you a new name, hmm?" she asked, mocking his shocked expression. yoongi shoved her face with his palm and she giggled, despite yoongi's large hand in her face. "answer my question!"
"how did you find it in your heart to forgive hyerin so easily?" yoongi asked, rolling onto his stomach so he could rest his chin in his hands.
"simple."
"simple?" yoongi gaped at her, causing her to chuckle. jihye leaned over and flicked his forehead, "my love for you is much greater than any anger i had for her," she said, gazing into his eyes, which were brimming with affection. "and i knew that letting go of this grudge would be beneficial to not only her, but you as well."
"h-how... how... ?" yoongi stuttered before planting his face into the pillow. a muffled sigh arose. "jihye..."
"yes, cutie?"
"i-" he choked.
jihye snorted.
"i-i have a lot to learn from you."
jihye chuckled slightly before sitting up in bed. she glanced over at the analog clock on the wall and groaned slightly. "i need to get to work, boobie."
"boobie?"
jihye ignored him and leapt off the bed, "i'll see you later today, alright?" but she felt his hand wrap around her wrist. she let out a fake sigh and turned to him, "yoongi-ah, my parents are gonna beat me with a shoe if i'm late again,"

"wait," he said, sitting up slightly. "it's important this time."
jihye raised an eyebrow.
"yejin's birthday is coming up," yoongi said, a light in his eyes. "i wanted to throw her a birthday party. a real one."
jihye grinned at her yoongi, then down at yejin who was snoring loudly. "she'll love that," jihye said with a beam, "who would we invite?"
"maybe some of her playgroup friends?" yoongi pondered aloud, "or her friends from that flower group... do you still do that?"
"well," jihye said with a snort, "i haven't had much time to do that because some dude named yoongi is taking up all my time..."
yoongi flicked her forehead and she toppled back with a giggle. quickly, she sat back up. "okay! i'm gonna head out. love you~!"
"love you too~"

"have a great day mr. choi!" jihye said, beaming as she waved to the child and his father as they left the Jang Daycare. as soon as the familiar door bells jingled and the two were gone, jihye's smile melted slightly. with a yawn, she rubbed her temples and glanced at the clock. a few more hours. i want to go hom-
"heya bitch!" a familiar voice called as the daycare doors swung open again. hoseok and hanna entered the building, both had bright smiles on their faces. "we brought you lunch!" hanna said as she placed the plastic bag onto the table.
jihye grinned, "it's dumb and dumber!"
"and you're dumbest." hanna said, poking jihye's forehead. hoseok snorted and tore open the plastic bag, "we brought lunch!" he sang. jihye groaned in relief, "thank you guys so much," she mumbled and tore open the back, "i think i almost starved to death..."

"where are your parents?" hoseok asked, looking around the lobby.
jihye snorted as she carefully placed a container of kimbap on the table. "who knows? they're never here during my shifts."
the three tore the seran wrap off of the styrofoam trays and pulled out their chopsticks. "thanks for the food, uglies!" jihye said before grabbing one and popping it into her mouth.
they sat quietly, chewing their food as an occasional kid came in with their parents. jihye looked up at her friends, to see them nudging each other and sharing a secret smile.
"okay... what's going on?" jihye asked as she rolled her eyes.
the two grinned at each other again.
hoseok coughed and hanna just giggled, "h-how's your... relationship?" hanna asked with a sly smirk. hoseok chuckled and leaned over the counter on his elbows, "have you guys done it yet?"
jihye choked on the kimbap.
hanna and hoseok doubled over and cackled so loud that some of the kids peered through the glass window to see what the commotion was.
"i am literally going to cut off both of your bloodlines," jihye hissed as she dragged her thumb across her neck threateningly.
they continued to cackle.
"i swear to god, both of you are on something." jihye muttered as she buried her face in her hands. hanna poked jihye's forehead, "you never answered the question~!"
"NO!" jihye shouted as she looked up at her giggling friends. "we have not done it!"
they continued to laugh at their friend's flustered state.
"you both are dead. when you guys start dating people i'm gonna make sure they know all of your embarrassing secrets," jihye said with a smirk.
"calm down, ji!" hoseok said as he clapped a hand on her back, "you know we love you~!"
"but seriously though," hanna said as she clasped her hands together, "what's yoongi like?"
jihye grinned at the thought of her boyfriend. "he's... the most loving person on this earth," she said, not looking at her friends anymore.
"jeez, look at this girl." hoseok said with a snort, "you can practically see the hearts in her eyes."
"i'm being serious!" jihye protested, "he's really, really good to me!"
"well, at least he treats you well," hanna said with a laugh, "thanks to me." hoseok and jihye looked at hanna in confusion. "thanks to you?" hoseok asked.
hanna nodded, an evil grin on her red lips. "i might've threatened him... told him that if he broke your heart i'd-"
"hanna!" jihye gasped, her mouth falling open. hoseok started to laugh, "poor yoongi! you terrified the little man!"
"i'm so done with you idiots." jihye groaned and popped another kimbap into her mouth. hoseok smiled at his best friend, "don't fret, jiji. hanna and i may tease you two but we both know..."
"... he really loves you." hanna finished. jihye raised an eyebrow at the two. they really be finishing each other's sentences now-
"i've never seen him happier," hoseok said. jihye's heart rose slightly at the thought of the pale skinned boy and his daughter. "i don't think i've ever been happier either." she beamed.

When she meets Gabriel, the boy whose family has moved in next door, it seems that she has made a new friend. But all is not well in the village. This story is set in a parallel universe with less advanced technology than our own, in a forest that is meant to resemble old rural Saxony.
