《Life and Death | THE ORIGINALS [2]》Brotherhood of the Damned

I wake up in a white room, no doors or windows just all white surrounding me. "What the hell?" I whisper to myself.
"Hello, my child." I hear from behind me and stand up quickly, and turning around.
"Who are you?" I ask fearfully staring at the elder woman. She was definitely beautiful. Long grey hair, striking blue eyes that shined with authority yet kindness. She looked like a queen. "Where am I?"
"I had to reach out sometime." I furrow my eyebrows as she walks towards me. "Mariana, look at you. So grown up."
"You know me but I don't know you." I shake my head as my curiosity grows.
"My apologies. My name is Maria, I'm your grandmother." My eyes widen as I stare with tears about to fall.
"My-my grandmother? You should be dead." I state. "No offence."
"None taken." She smiles widely. "I am dead. I died a long time ago. My magic can only keep me alive for so long." Once she sees the shock cross my features she grabs my hands. "Yes, I am a witch. The witch gene skipped your mother and went straight to you."
"It doesn't matter. It's gone or at least it will be soon." I look away at the thought.
"That's why I needed to reach out, Mariana. I have a book, it's hidden really well, and I need you to find it." She tells me.
"I don't understand." I shake my head confused. "What kind of book?"
"It's my spell book. Our families spell book. Over 100 years ago, what's happening to you has happened before. They wrote it all down in the book, how to stop it, how to restore your magic. Find the book." She looks me dead in the eye with such a soft look.
"Will I see you again?" I ask sadly, I've found more family and I'm probably gonna never see her.
"Perhaps, but don't worry. I will be here every step of the way, watching over you, just find the book and read carefully." I see slight tears in her eyes as well. "I am so proud of you and I know your mother would be too. I believe in you, Mariana. Your gonna change the world and more importantly, the people in it."
"You really believe that?" I ask in denial.
"You've already started to change Niklaus Mikaelson, my love." My eyes soften at his name. "You are going to change so much for the factions, for witches, werewolves and the vampires. Just remember I believe in you."
As I go to open my mouth once more I sit up with a gasp and grab my chest. I look around and see I'm in my room where I fell asleep. I sigh heavily and lay back down, staring at the ceiling. I need to find that book but I have no idea where to look.

"I was hoping you had a plan b." I hear my dad sigh into the phone from another room. I'm currently with Kol, babysitting.
Klaus asks him after dad says nothing.
"Yeah. That all sounds fine and good, but listen. When I was getting the werewolves out, I got bit." My eyes widen and sit up straight as I hear him say that.
I smile at Klaus' words and look at Kol.
"What was Klaus like? As a human?" I ask bringing my legs to my chest.
"He was bloody different, that's for sure." Kol mumbles.
"I mean it, Kol, I wanna know." I sigh resting my chin on my knee.
He looks at me for a moment before sighs. "He was...caring. Of course, he never dared stand up for himself against Mikael, but he was a good person. A good brother. He spent most of his time painting, making paint colours, learning different styles, and all of that." I smile thinking about it.
"Do you think that's still a part of him? And don't worry I'll keep your words to myself but honestly," I ask him genuinely curious.
"If your really asking if I think weather or not my brother loves you...yes." He nods as I blush.

Kol and I walk down the staircase into the main room, bells are ringing loudly and that annoys Kol and amuses me. "What's with the church bells? Sounds like the preamble of me own bloody funeral."
"It's carillon eve. The locals shroud the eyes of angels so the dead can walk among us for a night without judgment. The bells wake the dead and guide them to eternal rest. So weather you live or die today, you can join the festivities." Dad says towards Kol.
"Oh, Marcel, you're gonna make certain I live." Kol tells him with a manipulative voice. "I'm the only one who knows how to find Rebekah." And there it is.
"Think you underestimate how hungry I am and how much I'd like to appease my hungry friends right outside that door." I'll admit the hunger was definitely there and it was painful but I would not let that show in front of my dad, not now.
"And just what would Davina say about that?" Kol asks him. "Because I'm not one to kiss and tell, obviously, but I think she likes me."
I grab Kol by the neck and shove him against the wall before digging my fangs right into his neck harshly. "Maddison!" I faintly hear my dad before he pulls me away from Kol. I go to attack him again but dad stops me.
"Watch out. I'm gonna murder him." I say only seeing red as Kol holds his bleeding neck.

"Hey, let it go, it's just the hunger." He says as I shake my head. He speeds me out of there to one of the rooms upstairs and sets me down on the couch. "Stay here." He walks out of the room as I roll my eyes.

I was talking with Joshua and Gia when Kol came around the corner. Gia starts walking towards him, "you come anywhere near me, and I will give you a headache that will last a century."
"It'll be worth it." Gia says as Kol walls down the stairs and uses magic on her. "Ahh!"
"Hey! Anyone care to explain what's going on?" My dad asks walking in and looking at Kol.
"Your so-called protection detail was trying to eat me. So I think I should teach them a lesson." Kol goes to use magic once again but yelps and collapses on the ground as I tilt my head and laugh.
"Well, that was fun. Can I eat him now?" I ask as my dad sends me a look. "Just asking."
My dad, Josh, Gia and I are standing around Kol, who we put on a couch, trying to figure out what's happening when Kols nose starts bleeding.
Gia and josh both start to advance towards him but my dad stops them as I observe Kol. "Easy, easy. If you start feeding, you won't be able to stop and then he's dead, and the rest of us still starve, all right? Look at me. I have been at war in the trenches starved with my men. If we fought through it then, you can now. We are gonna fight this hunger together."
My dads eyes close and I turn to look at him. "Dad, are you okay?" I ask knowing about his bite. He looks at something behind Gia and Josh but there's nothing there. "Dad?" I grab his hand and slide his sleeve up showing the bite getting worse.
"Oh my god." Josh says.
"Is that a werewolf bite?" Gia asks shocked.
"It's a scratch." Dad tries to tell them.
"It's a bite." Josh says firmly. "You're 6 ways to dead if you don't get Klaus' blood in you, and when those guys find out..."
"They're not going to find out." I speak up. "Which means that you two are gonna keep your mouths shut about this and everything period."
"You hear that?" Gia asks as the bells get louder. "That's the sound of food that we can't even get near while you're sitting here protecting that idiot."
"It is just hunger, Gia. Lots of people on this earth have been a lot hungrier than us." Dad tells her holding the bite on his arm.
"You made us a promise when you turned us. You had goals we bought into, but look at us. We've been wolf bait, beaten up, stuck exiled across the river, then stuck here, and now when we're all looking to you for help, you don't even tell us that you're dying." My dad shakes his head but she continues. "You're supposed to be our leader, but right now, you suck at it." She says and walks away.
*
"Finally!" I say as Kol gasps awake. Gia and a few wolves walk in and I stand up ready to attack if need to.
"Is it too late for an apology?" He asks as Gia goes to eat him but I grab him and speed him to a different room and closing the door. "Thanks, Maddie."
"Oh, don't thank me yet." I say angrily and step towards him.
Kol holds his hands out as my dad walks in. "Whoa! Hold it. Hold it together just for a little while longer, a few minutes, to be exact."
"What the hell are you talking about?" I ask him as my dad walks past him.
"Finn." He says making my dad stop and turn to him. "He plans to release the lot of you at sundown."
My dad gets an angry face as I wince, "oh, the streets will be jam-packed with people right outside that gate."
"You'll be half-crazed with hunger. You'll feed your way through the crowd, and that'll be the end of vampires secretly living in the fat of New Orleans." Kol explains as my dad gets lost again looking at something behind me that's not there. "Marcel, listen to me. You are outmaneuvered, outnumbered and, quite frankly, you're out of your mind. We're not gonna get out of this alive."
"No. We are all getting out of this alive." My dad tells him as I look at my dad sadly.
"Are we?" I ask as they both look my way. "Are you?"
*
I sat in Klaus' room, showered, fed and in some comfortable clothes. I want to make sure he got out of that place safe. Who knows what Finn could of done, in there or once he got out. I read the lines carefully in my book, tiredly resting my head against the pillow. I look to my left at the time and sigh before closing my book, setting it down and allowing myself to get some sleep.

The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)
