《Pokémon Sun & Moon: Emethyst's Journey》Chapter 28

"Haunter, use sludge bomb!" I hollered at Haunter. We were outside behind the Pokemon Center. Mallow offered to battle me, and we had been in the middle of it for a minute. I decided I'd let Froslass sit this one out, and give Haunter a shot. Haunter charged the sludge bomb, and threw it at her Steenee.
"Dodge it, Steenee! Use Magical Leaf!" Mallow yelled.
Steenee quickly moved out of the way, and began charging her attack. "Stee-nee!" She yelled. She circled her arms and made a glowing circle effect.
She then shot her attack directly at Haunter, which looked to be a bit like Razor Leaf. "Haunter, Dodge it! Use lick!"
Haunter then moved out of the way, and stuck his tongue out. He quickly floated over to Steenee, and licked her directly on her face. Steenee immediately fell over, paralyzed. I did a small little dance.
"Oh no, Steenee! Hang in there!" Mallow yelled, looking worried.
"Steenee is paralyzed!" I heard Rotom Dex exclaim.
"Alright, perfect!" I exclaimed. I was sure I had Mallow in this battle. "Haunter, finish it off with Sludge Bomb!" I yelled, and pointed at Steenee who laid on the ground helpless. I almost felt kind of bad, but at the same time I knew I had to train hard. I told Mallow I wasn't going to go easy on her, and she did tell me not to hold back.
Haunter's Sludge Bomb hit Steenee directly in her face. "Stee!!" Steenee exclaimed as if she were in pain, as I watched her face turn a little purple. Swirls then appeared in her eyes.
"Steenee is unable to battle! Which means the winner is Emethyst!" Kiawe exclaimed.
Mallow ran over to Steenee, and helped her up. "Good job, Steenee. You were amazing." She said, as she hugged her tight. "Now let's get you some antidote." She said, as she walked back to the Pokemon Center.
I then walked over to Haunter, and put my hand out to scratch his head. "Good job Haunter, that was a great-"

I was then cut off by Haunter pushing my hand away, and he now looked angry. He had never done this to me before. It startled me. If looks could kill, I would be a goner right now.
"Haunter, what's with you?!" I exclaimed at him. He then went out of control, and floated over angrily to Froslass and charged a shadow ball with his hands. Froslass then got angry herself, and began charging one as well.
This had me panicked to where I didn't know what to really do. On impulse, I took my Pokeball out of bag. "Haunter, return!" I called out, as the Pokeball shot out it's red like laser to pull Haunter back in, but he dodged it. He then turned on me, and continued to charge the shadow ball.
"Whoa, what's going on with Haunter?!" Lillie exclaimed, worry in her face.
"I don't know!" I called back out, as I kept my eyes on his angry face. This really threw me off.
I was now scared, as I backed away. Not looking where I was going, I fell back on my butt. "Haunter, no!! What's the matter with you?!" I screamed in horror. It was like he was under some sort of spell. He had never done this before. "It's me, Emethyst!!" I exclaimed.
It was then that Ash jumped in front of me, as a sort of guard. "Pikachu, thunderbolt now!"
"Pi-ka Chuuuu!" Pikachu exclaimed, as I watched the Thunderbolt hit Haunter directly.
I watched as Haunter fell to the ground, with swirls in his eyes.
I breathed hard in horror, as I watched Haunter struggle to get up. But before I could, I made sure he went into his Pokeball. I watched as he went back in, and looked at the Pokeball in my hand. I didn't understand what just happened. Everyone in the class ran over to me.
"Emethyst!" I heard my dad's familiar voice call out behind me. Tears welled in my eyes. I didn't understand why my own Pokemon just tried to attack me. He had never done that before.

My dad then ran over and helped me up. "Are you okay?! What happened?!" He asked, hysterically, as he looked around at the class. His labcoat blew in the wind.
"Haunter turned on her!" Lillie exclaimed. I could tell she was just as scared as I was.
I took a deep breath, as I tried to relax. "Mallow and I battled. Haunter beat Steenee, and after that I tried to praise Haunter. When I did, he went out of control. He's never done that before." I said, as I felt a tear fall down my face. Froslass then came over, and hugged me with her humanoid arms to comfort me as she always did. I hugged her back, for I really needed it right now.
Olivia then walked over, as if she were thinking. "Emethyst," she said. "How long has it been since Haunter evolved?" She asked.
I looked off to the side and thought for a moment. "It was on my tenth birthday... So, four years ago?" I said, as I thought about it, and looked back at her. I then remembered that Gastly was acting this same exact way before he evolved, but he never attacked me directly.
Olivia nodded and then smiled. "It's possible Haunter could evolve soon," she explained. "Have you noticed any other odd behavior from him?" She asked.
I shrugged, and then it popped in my head that he had tried to attack my dad the other night when we got into the fight. "Well, he did try to attack my dad the other night. We got into it a bit.." I said, hesitantly, as I looked at him. "I thought that was kind of strange, but blew it off as him trying to protect me." I said.
Olivia walked over closer. "Sounds like he could be getting ready to evolve soon," she said. "Some Pokemon get that way when they get ready to. Lycanroc was that way when he evolved." She said. "Afterwards though, he was back to normal." She smiled, and pet his head.
I looked down at Lycanroc, and then back on the pokeball that was in my hand. I was scared, and I didn't know what this meant. If Haunter attacked me, then what else was he capable of? What if I let him out and he tries to hurt someone else?
"Emethyst, why don't you have Nurse Joy take a look at Haunter and make sure nothing else is wrong?" My dad said. "Sometimes Pokemon act that way when something simple is bothering them." He mentioned, as he looked straight at me.
That sounded like a good idea, but I was worried. "Yeah, but what if he attacks Nurse Joy?" I asked, as I looked down worriedly at the Pokeball in my hand. The last thing I would need is a bad reputation because of Haunter, especially with him attacking someone as sweet as the Joys.
"Nurse Joy knows what she's doing, Emethyst." Olivia mentioned. "Plus, I'm sure if Haunter were to try and attack her, I'm sure she has stuff that will calm him down." She said.
I allowed a small smile, but I was still genuinely worried. I took a deep breath, for I was still shaken from earlier. I continued to look down at the Pokeball. How could Haunter do this to me? I knew this would scar me for a while.
"Don't worry, we'll be with you every step of the way. Right, guys?" Ash said, as he walked over to me.
"Right." Everyone said in unison. I never had this much support from anyone. I didn't know how to genuinely act.
"Thank you all so much." I said, as I smiled big. I was hoping Haunter would be okay, but I felt grateful that I had everyone here to support me. We all then walked back to Pokemon Center.

Greys II - Ghosts
There he stood, dark eyes, dark hair, beautiful in the most devastating of ways. It scared me how little he had changed, his hair was longer and black, his frame thinner, like he hadn't eaten since I last saw him. His eyes were different, lacking something they had always held before, lacking anything really, and yet he was the same. He looked weak, but I knew he wasn't. "Hi, angel."His voice was just as dead as his eyes. It sent a shiver up my spine. That was the reason I felt sick, that was the reason he seemed different. He was dead, and as much as I wanted to hate him, I was sad he was empty, sad he wasn't the same man anymore."Hello, Gabriel."My voice came out softer than I would have liked, the words burning my tongue.
